this place does not look anything like it's misleading website says it does. it is shabby, run-down, smelly, far from the sea, NOT a 4 star hotel, and a most disappointing horrible place. As mentioned by other people, the owner was not there and could not be reached by phone. We got the distinct impression that she avoids meeting the guests, as it is clear that other people also have serious complaints. I then looked at the web to try and see ow we could have had such a wrong impression, and noticed the 'helo peter' and other negative ratings in the web and saw that other people had similarly awful experiences and posted their pictures to back up their claims. when I eventually reached the owner by phone, she simply refused to meet with me to discuss the situation and blatantly refused to refund me. unfortunately there is not enough to be done when a place misleads patrons and advertises to be 4 star 'hotel' (hahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) when it clearly is not!!!!! THIS SHOULD BE STOPPED - SHE MAKES MONEY OUT OF FALSE ADVERTISING AND TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY.

From the website and other adverts one gets the impression of an establishment right next to the beach ("across the road from the beach"), which is far from the truth. It is also advertised as four star accommodation, but the place looks run down from the outside, really ghastly. One also waits for hours outside the gate trying to get phone numbers answered. Once inside, a cleaning lady acts as receptionist and it was only with great difficulty that we managed to speak to the lady who owns/"manages" the hotel. We did not book in, since we were so disappointed. No wonder this place wants the full amount to be paid in advance, and then refuses to give one's money back. Shameful. My advice is to stay away. We eventually booked into the Salt Rock Hotel, which is only a few yards away but MILES better (also ON THE BEACH) and costs only slightly more.

After a lot of confusion around my booking,my family and I finally arrived at Fairways - only to wait 30 min at the gate as no one answered ANY of the phones - landlines and mobiles/emails.On finally entering (as another resident was returning, so I walked in as she opened the gate) the extra R400 was the priority at check-in,with absolute disregard for the fact that my 11 young child was still cooped up in the car. After the ordeal, all we wanted was a soak in the jacuzzi before bedtime - only to find that the water was ice-cold. We ordered supper and slept. In the morning, there was nothing for my baby (soft porridge) so we had to rush out to get instant porridge. Honestly, I have seen this place advertised a lot, but I know that I will never book it again, it was a TOTAL let down!

Room Tip: I just wouldn't book this place again, period.

We had a super time at the hotel and accommodation was excellent and right across the road from a really good beach. Manager was very friendly and happy to assist with anything we needed. Our stay was on a bed and breakfast basis and breakfast was excellent. We would stay there again.

Awesome getaway! The beach is a few min walk from the hotel which is just perfect! The room was very clean, comfortable and the bathroom was stunning. The level of service and hospitality from the staff at the hotel was outstanding. We really felt pampered and very welcome. Really wish we could have stayed longer :)
