At first site I was quite impressed from the outside and as we were only staying
One night I wasn't to fussed.
We had to wait approx ten minutes for the key to the room as no-one was in attendance
When he arrived the guy was very helpful.
We went to our room which looked very tired and the bathroom was in dire need of
Refurbishment but as only there for one night we could manage.
The bed I am sorry to say was not good the mattress really uncomfortable and the sheets
Had holes in.
We went for breakfast the next morning to the restaurant attached and that was good.
I would not return.

Room tip: As only one night did not view anywhere but it's out of the way

Myself and 2 friend were in Cornwall for a Bowls match, and needed an overnight stop, and for a hotel we booked purely because it was cheaper than the one down the road in St. Austell we couldn't be happier with this true hidden gem of a Travelodge. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the happy nature of Gordon on reception when we arrived, and throughout our brief stay, only added to the experience. Next time we are

This is the second Travel Lodge I have stopped in and this hotel and is miles better than the Travel Lodge I stopped in at Saltash.

Hotel rooms really cheap - I paid £43 per night which inculded wifi.
Location is good. Just a short distance from the A30 so easy access to Bodmin and ideal for getting around Cornwall.

I stopped here for a couple of days and the room was kept clean with fresh towels on each day.

My room as facing the main road and I didn't feel it was too noisy.

The room does have a TV which was quite basic, poor picture reception (Freeview signal isn't great in this area). The television also didn't have the ability to display subtitles so not suitable for the hearing impaired.

Next door to the Travel Lodge there is a small pub (The Victoria Inn) which offered a really decent evening meal and even a cooked breakfast in the morning. If your looking for alternative options for breakfast there is a McDonalds at the A30 junction and a small Cafe (greasy spoon) opposite the entrance to the hotel car park.

My main gripe would be my satnav didn't quite find this place. Just remember follow make the first left (if coming from the A30) after the BP petrol station and the hotel along with lovely pub is just there on your right hand side.

Well, what an unexpected gem of a little Travelodge - not at all what I expected - in a good way!

It seemed a little off the beaten track and a little smaller than most other Travelodges I've stayed in. This of course is because the A30 has been redirected more recently to a nearby course so the hotel wasn't directly on the "trunk road" any more - but this is a boon because even if you get a room overlooking the now rural B3274 you won't have to worry about the roar of traffic heading to and from the more touristic areas of south western Cornwall early in the morning!

But that initial impression was deceptive - once inside it was just as warm and comfortable as any other Travelodge I've stayed in - the receptionist was very friendly and full of information about where to find food in the area - I've been told by others since my visit there that the adjacent pub, although nothing to do with the Travelodge is superb - I didn't visit it on the night I stayed but plan to visit before the year's out, for sure.

The hotel room was all I'd expect from a Travelodge - well heated (sub-zero temperatures outside that night), thoroughly modernly decorated, pristine en-suite with a bath, lovely clean sheets and a nice desk area where I could use my laptop for the evening - along with a mains socket to charge it and my phone (you'd be surprised how many hotels don't even offer a desk and chair).

I was in Cornwall for a difficult business day and needed somewhere I could relax after the tensions of that experience before the flight back to Dublin the following morning and this, having stayed in other Travelodges for business and pleasure in the past, provided the perfect "familiar" retreat after the tough day, even down to the "red blob" artwork on the wall that has become a welcome in every room I've stayed in recently :) .

In the morning, I was surprised to see now many cars and "white vans" were parked outside and to see how many were checking out around the same time as I was too - the night was very quiet so a well built hotel for sound proofing too!

Fine stay and the adjoining hotel (Victoria Inn) was very good with breakfast and excellent evening meal. Location was good for the station although only a couple of services a day. Fine if travelling by car (I wasn't)
