We stopped here for one night before taking the early ferry next day.
The hotel is in the centre of town, a few minutes from the beach and a five minute drive to Ouistreham car ferry terminal. Parking is on the street.
Reception staff were helpful and pleasant. We paid on check-in to allow our early departure.
The room was really nice and comfortable. The en-suite was compact but modern. For €69 this was great value.
It is worth mentioning that the people of Lion sur Mer still appreciate what the Brits and Canadians did for them in 1944, hence the friendly welcome we get from the locals.

The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring Lion sur Mer, Hermansville and the D-Day sites such as Sword beach, Pegasus Bridge and many others. The hotel itself is clean, tidy and the rooms are a good size. The breakfast is good and fresh pastries are always available - the English breakfast looked good as well.

It's the service that makes the hotel stand out - Patrica and her partner could not do enough for us and made our stay that much more special! We would definitely be returning to pretty Lion and will not be looking to stay anywhere else... Thanks Patrica.

Room Tip: Disabled/wheelchair friendly room available on ground floor.

This family run hotel is in a great location right in the centre of the village, we have been made to feel so welcome. We were here for the d day 70th anniversary, everybody in this lovely village is so helpful and friendly, the hotel is spotlessly clean, the breakfast is great, cooked or continental, the rooms are a decent size, and the bed was very comfy, we had a good size shower and good bathroom facilities, everything you would expect from a top quality hotel, including a small bar, I will definatly come here again.

relatively easy to find if you ignore the first sign and go for centreville, hotel is right by traffic lights and an ideal place to spider out from each day. And as I had youngest grandson (8) good location for the Landing Beaches from Sword to Utah, Quistreham (Pegasus Bridge), Collevill sur mer, St Mere Eglise, Point du Hoc, Caen, Bayeux, Falaise ( William the Conqueror's Castle) and Mont Ormel the Polish memorial at the Falaise Gap. All had lots of Tanks, Jeeps, Landing Craft and other military equipment for an 8 year old to climb on. Parking for motorcycles (max 5) on the forecourt. plenty of places to eat in Lion-sur-mer, we did tend to breakfast in the hotel (extra & not recommended, but the coffee and croissants are good), have a good lunch on the road between 1 & 2 after the lunchtime squeeze, watch out for their sandwiches !!! half a flute with ham & cheese, murder on my teeth (I'm 72) but so many places to eat on the road. Hotel clean & relatively comfortable bed, watch out for the check in times, we arrived early before 15:00hrs had to wait a while but not long, nice room, nice shower & it is needed after a day in riding gear. Grandson crashed out in bed about 8'ish, his father and I invested a bottle of Port and read until 22:00 most evenings, it is tiring, so much walking & you do tend to sleep well.

Room Tip: if there are three of you make that point very strongly when you book, try for a room at the back, t...

We chose this hotel as an alternative to stopping right at the ferry port, and because of its proximity to the beach. They are obviously geared up for dealing with customers like us as we were able to, effectively, check out as we booked in, which was handy for our morning ferry.

Our comfort room was spotless and well presented, but pretty small. Others have commented on the paper thin walls and I'd have to agree.

Overall good value and handy but I wouldn't want to stay more than one night.

Convenient for the Ouistreham ferry port. Efficient if rather formal check in. The room was clean and comfortable with a huge en suite bathroom (suitable for disabled guests). Close to several restaurants and short walk to the beach. Slight disadvantage in not having an off street car park, but there was limited street parking in front of the hotel and a public car park behind the building. Would probably use again for one night.

Very convenient for the ferry, advertised english spoken and lounge. No english spoken and lounge was the family room not at all welcoming.
Stayed two nights adequate room and shower, breakfast was spoilt by cat on one table and lady feeding two dogs off another one.
Second night we were locked out although it was only nine o'clock and had to go back to the restaurant and get him to ring to give us the code to let us in. Most restaurants in town closed sunday and monday nights. Next time we will drive on.

Room Tip: At the back away from the road with traffic lights outside hotel
