Central travel point to Bellagio, beside the mountains, water That is where the beauty ends. And service to mean does mean something. It was not typical of what we receive on any of our travels to Italy, Europe. The unfortunate part is, this hotel could be something unbelievably special, because of the location by the mountains, water, and views from the room. However, the quality of ammenities, including very uncomfortable bed, old fashioned TV, cheap furniture, soaps, towels, poor breakfast, extra fee for wifi, and lack of attention to detail overall brings the hotel down several ratings. Hotel staff did not go out of their way to help. Breakfast consisted of mostly packaged foods - cookies, pastry, dried toast. There was also some ham, boiled eggs, yoghurt, and toast that had been pre toasted and sitting there for who knows how long. There was juice, coffee. There were gardens on the property but the owners didn't want to show anyone the gardens. I would not recommend.

Room Tip: If you do stay, room facing the mountain, water. That's the only reason I would stay at this pla...

I just stumbled upon this hotel while searching for something on Lake Como and I'm so glad I did! We spent a wonderful 3 nights here in May. The weather was perfect and the views from the patio right off our room simply breathtaking! We woke up one morning to see a bunch of windsurfers taking to the lake right in front of the hotel. We caught a bus just down the street to go to Bellagio, and came back by boat to Lecco, which is the nearest large town. It's an inexpensive half hour train ride from Milan to Lecco. There are several places to eat within walking distance of the hotel. The couple who owns the hotel are very helpful and gave us local tourist information and bus schedules, etc. The breakfast is adequate. I would definitely choose the patio rooms over the balcony rooms. The balconies are very small and there is only room for 2 people to stand. You can sit out on the patio and really enjoy the lake. This area is truly a photographers paradise! We just spent 3 weeks in the Greek islands and Italy and the Lecco area of Lake Como is now our new favorite place in Italy....that's saying something!

Room Tip: Choose a patio room. The up close views of the lake are worth it!

Need a room with an awesome view? This is it! Found off a tiny street (TURN RIGHT JUST BEFORE ENTERING A LONG TUNNEL) on your way from Milan or Lecco. You will find the family operators very accommodating and the rooms clean and comfortable. From here you can drive up either side of the eastern leg of Lake Como and find Belaggio or other little mountain towns. Be aware that these roads are very narrow and twisty. Perfect for motorcycles and small to medium size cars. You will not be disappointed with this hotel.

Room Tip: Balcony rooms are great. Lower floor has very spacious terrace seating you share with others.

A nice small hotel on lake Como. We arrived VERY late at night and someone was still waiting for us. Average breakfast. Met our expectations! The price difference between a room wit a view is smaller than the difference between the rooms... go for the view!

Room Tip: Go for lake view :-)

Absolutely great stay at this small hotel on Lake Como. Room a great value with truly unbeatable views. The personal service friendly and as attentive I've ever experienced. Worth the minimal extra driving time to bypass best known cities in the area.

our hosts were lovely and looked after us very well. The Lake view room was very comfortable and the winter/spring was lovely to leave the door open for a cool breeze. Breakfast was well appointed and we could not have wished for more.

Bellagio is a 20km journey up the road and well worth the trip... a little hair-raising on the narrow roads, and better done in a smaller car. Worth it once you get there though. Beautiful.

Room Tip: Definitely pay more for the lake view room and try booking direct as when we were leaving they say t...

This is an amazing hotel that is worth every penny if you have the lakeview rooms. And it's well and beyond its three stars, especially by European standards too.

I've been to the big chains in Italy and the personalised service of this hotel (ran by a husband and wife team - just like Faulty Towers but saner and more organised!) is just that extra mile.

They even gave me a lift to the local restaurant 500 metres away when it was cold and rainy for me to do the schlep.

The rooms are big and the bathrooms are big too (really makes a difference in comparison to the chain hotels I have been to) and the bed was sturdy, pillows firm and the heaters worked well(it was freezing in Easter). Also got an Easter egg - nice touch.

Only downside is that you will need a car to get around the area. Lecco is a bit of a very quiet town. Charming, but less action. And dont get me started on the public transportation. The local restaurant is a good one - even gluten free - which is a pleasant surprise in provincial Italy. (I struggled to find one in the big cities!)

This is a perfect spot for a couples vacation. Just don't forget the keys to the car!
And don't forget to ask a lakeview room on the first floor - the balcony is a cordoned off big patio that you can walk around in and chill with a bottle of vino.

Room Tip: 1st floor lake view rooms - the corner one I had was amazing
