Marrans is a working vineyard and they produce a very competent range of wines mostly fleurie with a smattering of other cru villages.
We stayed two nights in the self catering unit which has a lovely view of the vineyards. Each morning Lilliane would lay a table in the kitchen for a leisurely breakfast.
The rooms were very clean, I thought the decoration is dated (1985) and could do with a makeover. I would prefer a comfortable sofa rather than an awkward sofabed in the living room.
Lilliane has limited English although her son speaks good English.
Morrans is situated on a cross roads but to be honest the traffic is very light and
was hardly noticeable. Overall its a relaxing tranquill location, a good base for wine tasting in Beaujolais and Macon and we could happily have stayed a few days longer.
