“Wonderful provencial experience!”
Reviewed 7 July 2013

We had a wonderful time during our 5 night stay at La Nesquiere. After spending a week in Paris, La Nesquiere was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the quintessential Provence experience. We enjoyed the warm friendliness, fantastic food, idyllic setting and Isabelle's insight into the surrounding area. The entire property (rooms, garden, pool, game room) were all lovely. If possible, do book at least one night for dinner…the food was absolutely fabulous! Merci à vous la mère d'Isabelle. La Nesquiere is an absolutely marvelous place and everything was perfect!!! We hope to visit again in the future.

Just a note...do follow Isabelle's instructions when putting info into your GPS. We did and had no problem whatsoever finding La Nesquiere. It is well worth the trip!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in Chambre Zéphirine, it was a large lovely room overlooking the garden. The bathroom and...

From the time of arrival to departure our stay at La Nesquiere was a true joy. The house was a delight, rooms were beautiful, food wonderful and lovely hosts. Quite one of the nicest places to spend a few days and all within easy reach of some tremendous historic towns and villages.

We couldn't have been happier with our 6 night stay! From the moment of arrival until the time we left, we felt surrounded with welcoming warmth.
The room was large and the bathroom was clean and pleasant. I was surprised to find a stove top and small refrigerator in the room, though we didn'use them....too busy tryi g out to wonderful local restaurants.

The location can be a bit challenging to find - make sure you see it on an online map. But we made it just fine. Only challenge was returning at night, well after dark. But then, maybe the bottle of wine with dinner had something to do with our difficulties!

Most of the pictures do not show the abundance of roses! They surround the place, and open windows at night bring in the wonderful aromas

Be sure to go - its a very special place.

We are a couple with three children (ages 12, 10 and 8) who have now visited four years in a row: we come back each year because it is so fabulous. The rooms are light and spacious and spotlessly clean. The breakfast in the garden is delightful and generous. There are facilities and space to occupy guests for days at a time, as well as many things to see and do in the region. The Table d'Hôte is exceptionally good, and exceptionally good value. The hosts are courteous, relaxed and obliging in every way. We are already looking forward to our visit next year.

When we arrived at La Nesquiere, I thought I had arrived at the chateau in "A Good Year." The white washed walls, the vines in bloom on the arbor, the little chickens running around, were all what I had envisioned. We were greeted with such warmth and friendliness. Speaking primarily English, it was also most helpful to stay where English was spoken very well. We weren't so lost in translation as we had been for two weeks prior. La Nesquiere was our last stop before returning home, and despite the unexpected rainy weather the whole visit, it didn't dampen our final days. It was nice after being out all day in some pretty nasty weather, to return to our beautiful, romantic room to relax, nap, have an indoor picnic and wine. I loved the antiques and the ability to spread out in what I consider a huge room for France.
If you haven't watched the movie, "A Good Year," be sure and view it and then go visit La Nesquiere. Isabelle, her father, and the dogs will give you a most wonderful stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Mandarine room. It is very large and roomy for two people. A couple and one child...

We ( a couple with a 2 year old child ) stayed in the Mandarine room for 4 nights in April.

The room is very nice and decorated with antiques. The colour theme was also quite different and nice. It is quite a big room and it includes a table and sofa/bed which was quite nice to read on after being out all day. There was also a small "kitchen-wardrobe" which was good enough to make some simple stuff and to warm up the child food. There was plenty of space for the child's cot.

All in all the place was quite enjoyable. Our son liked very much that there were dogs, cats, chickens and horses in the farm.
It was quite easy to find as our GPS had it on the list of "streets" of the village ( it is an old Tomtom so I guess most newer models will have it too) and it took exactly one hour to drive from the Marseilles Airport.

Good breakfast served by Isabelle the owner and nice villages around, also quite nice to visit Avignon. I specially liked Arles although that is like one hour away. Also the

The only negative point I can see is that the area is not very lively. We were there during easter and it was pretty much dead in the villages around ( the weather was pretty bad which also makes things look a bit gloomer). I am sure however that this is a really nice place to be during the summers.

I cannot say it was a remarkable place but it was quite pleasant and if you don't mind driving around there are plenty of small villages to visit. The owner was very nice too and helped with useful tips about activities.

Thanks a lot for your your opinion.
You're right, the weather was so bad! I can understand that it was difficult to enjoy your stay.

Do please read all the reviews which are very positive. Cleanliness or lack thereof is our only complaint. Literally everything was in need of a good wash; dishes and cupboards included. The pool is fantastic and the grounds are beautiful. Centrally located to visit the surroundings and near a lovely village with a good market and eating places.
