“Fantastic for animal lovers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2013

We stayed her for five nights with Grandparents and kids and had a fantastic time. Each corner of the garden had a different smell of summer - lavender, roses, jasmine ..... We had two nights in the main house with B&B and three in one of the self contained houses. Both were good but the rooms in the house were fractionally better and it was nice to have breakfast served outside in the beautiful gardens. Lots for the kids to do and see and was safe enough to let them roam around freely. Lovely pool and small play area for the children. The animals were the highlight for our children - tame calves who liked their fingers, dogs, cats, kittens, chickens, goats and horses. Horse riding lessons were very reasonable but not much was taught. For 18 Euros there was 30 minutes of grooming and tacking up, 30 minutes in the arena and 30 minutes led pony ride through the estate so even though it was advertised as a one hour lesson they actually got one and a half hours with the horses. The children really enjoyed this and if you are not looking for seroius riding lessons I would recommend it. We will certainly look at going back again another year.

I am glad that you have appreciate your stay with us, and especially with all the animals.
Sorry for the riding lesson : Frédérique give a very important place to the relationship human/horse and takes time to set that relation.
I hope I will welcome you again at home.

Sincerely
Isabelle

If you want an authentic experience of staying in a 200 year-old French stone farm house with a wooden shutters, horses in the meadows, barn yard animals, antiques and breakfast served in a rose garden on white french rot iron bistro patio tables.....this is it! The feel is authentic, old world, homey and totally "Provencial". Our hostess, Isabelle is a beautiful educated woman with warmth and grace who went out of her way to accomodate all of our absent mindedness, such as mailing back a hair dryer that was taken from the previous hotel by mistake and sending us perscription sunglasses left behind. Her father was also a delight! An intersting and wise gentleman (with perfect English) who was happy to share his life's experiences as well as a rugbee game on the T.V. with my husband. My daughter and I enjoyed walking on the grounds at sunset and exploring. The linens were beautiful and the beds mahogony. Each day the room was immaculately clean and smelled fresh. We slept wonderful on the farm and in the moring were able to explore conveniently the beautiful villages as Rousillion, Gordes, Bonnieux, Venesque, Lacoste, Menerbes, Isle sur la Sorge , Luberon and St Remy, each a jewel in it's own right. Isabelle loves things that are old and I enjoyed seeing all the collections of old books, magazines and vintage provential fabrics. How nice to find such a beautiful place with even more lovely people to host you. The rooms are small but it was very nice to have two connecting rooms so my daugher had her own room in our Suite. The rates were much more reasonable than staying in Aix and the location more central to some of the most beautiful villages in the Provence. The only down side was that we packed too heavy and had to carry bags up to the third floor, however this is usually the case in any place other than a hotel. So, pack light. It is worth it to meet some of the nicest people in the Provence! Don't expect a hotel, but a home!

Hello,

I am glad to know that you have received your glasses.
Thanks for your kindness and you are right to say that it's a home and not a hotel
I know that it is not easy to carry big bags in our old stair up to the 2nd floor (there is only 2, that's enough !). Next time, we will help you.
I hope we will welcome you again.

Sincerely
Isabelle

It was our 4th stay at La Nesquiere and we are sure that we will come back next year.
The rooms are beautiful we like the one in provence stile but also the modern once.
It is nice to sit in the evening outside, having a Rosé and talking to people.
The only thing we miss are more places in the shadow to relax.

Room Tip: All rooms are beautiful and silent

We had a wonderful time during our 5 night stay at La Nesquiere. After spending a week in Paris, La Nesquiere was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the quintessential Provence experience. We enjoyed the warm friendliness, fantastic food, idyllic setting and Isabelle's insight into the surrounding area. The entire property (rooms, garden, pool, game room) were all lovely. If possible, do book at least one night for dinner…the food was absolutely fabulous! Merci à vous la mère d'Isabelle. La Nesquiere is an absolutely marvelous place and everything was perfect!!! We hope to visit again in the future.

Just a note...do follow Isabelle's instructions when putting info into your GPS. We did and had no problem whatsoever finding La Nesquiere. It is well worth the trip!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in Chambre Zéphirine, it was a large lovely room overlooking the garden. The bathroom and...

From the time of arrival to departure our stay at La Nesquiere was a true joy. The house was a delight, rooms were beautiful, food wonderful and lovely hosts. Quite one of the nicest places to spend a few days and all within easy reach of some tremendous historic towns and villages.

We couldn't have been happier with our 6 night stay! From the moment of arrival until the time we left, we felt surrounded with welcoming warmth.
The room was large and the bathroom was clean and pleasant. I was surprised to find a stove top and small refrigerator in the room, though we didn'use them....too busy tryi g out to wonderful local restaurants.

The location can be a bit challenging to find - make sure you see it on an online map. But we made it just fine. Only challenge was returning at night, well after dark. But then, maybe the bottle of wine with dinner had something to do with our difficulties!

Most of the pictures do not show the abundance of roses! They surround the place, and open windows at night bring in the wonderful aromas

Be sure to go - its a very special place.

We are a couple with three children (ages 12, 10 and 8) who have now visited four years in a row: we come back each year because it is so fabulous. The rooms are light and spacious and spotlessly clean. The breakfast in the garden is delightful and generous. There are facilities and space to occupy guests for days at a time, as well as many things to see and do in the region. The Table d'Hôte is exceptionally good, and exceptionally good value. The hosts are courteous, relaxed and obliging in every way. We are already looking forward to our visit next year.
