“Timeless Atmosphere!”
Reviewed 23 March 2014

Wonderful Old Farmhouse with modern amenities and most important an extremely comfortable bed. We stayed in the Zepherine suite
In the midst of the array of antique furniture, pictures and ornaments it was absolutely spotlessly clean. Breakfast was a joy home made jams and wonderful breads, yoghurts and fruit nothing too much trouble, and the kitchen provided is a bonus. There is wifi connections if you wish.
The gardens and surroundings are perfect swimming pool is enormous and heated in the summer.
For English speaking people wishing to stay there Isabelle and her father Jaque spoke excellent English, and have a wealth of information.
We had a problem with the vehicle we were travelling in and the help and assistance we received from Isabelle and Jaque went beyond anything we would have expected.
Could not give any higher praise. All the atmosphere you expect from Provence and then a big hug from La Nesquiere .

Room Tip: We stayed in the Zepherine which was a suite with en suite shower and small cooking facilities. We...

Thanks a lot.
We are very happy to know you spent a good time at home despite problems with your car.
I haven't forgotten the picture of the pool but I need one more week to settle everything.
We hope to see you again at La Nesquière.
Sincerely
Isabelle

Isabelle is a wonderful hostess. Discrete yet very welcoming, helpful and totally unfazed by our 3 year old and 5 month old. We slept in 2 different rooms as we extended our stay we loved the place so much. Breakfast is lovely breads, fruit, yoghurt and choice of good teas - important for us Brits. The pool was a good size and temperature with plenty of shade and loungers. Our eldest loved the horses, cows and trampoline and very gentle dog. Both our beautifully decorated rooms (comfortable and large beds) had very well designed and discrete kitchenettes so that you can cook in the evening and our 2nd room had a large enough bathroom area that was big enough to put the two cots in plus extra space so we could have some privacy. Pernes les Fontaines is a very nice town (a short drive a way), lots of lovely restaurants and ambling and an excellent Saturday market. We hope to return. Merci Isabelle!

Room Tip: If with young children in cots ask for the room with the very large bathroom area - sorry forgot the...

My husband and I just spent 2 weeks in France. A week in Paris and then a week in the Avignon, Luberon region. We loved Paris but were thrilled to arrive at La Nesquiere for a taste of the Provence country life. Isabelle and her family are wonderful. Our apartment room "Zepherine" was gigantic!! Walk in shower with beautiful lighting and both a hand held attachment and waterfall faucet. Lovely! We had double sinks in our bathroom with a separate WC and lots of space for unpacking. The bedroom is charmingly decorated with lots of beautiful antiques and books. The window has a perfectly framed view of the gardens and a beautiful weaping willow that was blowing softly in the wind. The bathroom window looked out onto a field with horses grazing. So peaceful and romantic. The breakfast was an amazing and plentiful French breakfast. Isabelle provides a marvelous selection of homemade preserves, a large variety of delicious breads, homemade yogurt (my favorite) cereals, gourmet teas, coffee and even warm milk for my husband's coffee. We opted for dinner one evening and we were so glad we did. After eating out for a week in Paris it was nice to have a delicious home cooked meal. We must have had 5 courses! We visited with a family from Russia and had a wonderful time hearing about everybody's travels etc. La Nesquiere is very well situated for day trips to the area villages. Please message me if you would like any additional detail on that. Isabelle was very helpful with maps and suggestions on touring the area. Her English is just perfect and she helped me practice my French a bit too! We went to our local village Pernes les Fontaines of course, then Rousillon, Gordes, Pont du Gard, L'Isle Sur La Sorgue and stopped at a few places along the road. We found driving on only slightly challenging due to the narrow roads, but managed just fine. We recommend the GPS if you rent a car. The street signs are not easy to spot and we would have gotten lost without it's guidance. We stayed 3 nights in Avignon prior to La Nesquiere. If I had it to do over I would have spend all 6 here and just taken day trips to Avignon. There was something delightful about the Mistral breezes and the greenery and countryside that just made us relax. This is a beautiful rustic place to retreat. The chickens, horses, cows, cats and dogs wandering about were a plus for us as animal lovers! Thank you again to Isabelle and her family for making our stay so pleasant.

If you are looking for a true flavour of Provence, this is the place to stay. The charming welcome from the owners, Isabelle and her family, says it all. Lovely position with a beautiful garden filled with roses, lavender and various fruit trees and a huge pool. Our suite was beautifully decorated with an impeccable shower and kitchenette if you tire of the many delicious restaurants nearby to sample. Ideal location for hunting out antiques at isle sur sorgue and fishermen in search of that elusive trout on the river sorgue. We will be back to try again soon!

We stayed at La Nesquiere for 5 days at the end of June/early July. Isabelle and her parents were so warm and accomodated our needs. The rooms were spacious and clean. The summer kitchen was very convenient for us to do some of our own cooking for the kids. Isabelle had excellent recommendations for day trips to see the beauty of the surrounding area, and even helped arrange a babysitter for the children so we could have dinner out with friends. The rustic country grounds with a toy/games room, live animals (chickens, dogs, cats, horses) and garden swingset is perfect for young children to run, play and explore. We had a great time with our friends (both of us have young children under age 4) and we would definitely come back again. Great value for money. Beautiful, peaceful, relaxing setting.
My only comment/suggestion is that the bathrooms didn't have toiletries (soap, shampoo, lotion). I would like to see them provide small bottles, but in the meantime you have to bring your own. We liked the traditional continental breakfast (the croissants and homemade jams were fantastic), but perhaps on weekends a hot breakfast option (eggs? toast? ham? for a surcharge?) could be offered.

Hello,

Thanks for your comment and your suggestions.
We are intending to set soap and shampoo dispenser in bathrooms.
Concerning breakfast, of course we like to prepare our French breakfast but we could provide a toaster and why not some eggs.

I hope I will welcome you again with your friends.

Sincerely
Isabelle

We really enjoyed our stay at La Nesquiere. The hostess was very friendly, the apartment was spacious and clean and had all the necessary stuff. For the kids it was a nice place because of the playgarden and swimming pool. We would love to come again!!

We stayed her for five nights with Grandparents and kids and had a fantastic time. Each corner of the garden had a different smell of summer - lavender, roses, jasmine ..... We had two nights in the main house with B&B and three in one of the self contained houses. Both were good but the rooms in the house were fractionally better and it was nice to have breakfast served outside in the beautiful gardens. Lots for the kids to do and see and was safe enough to let them roam around freely. Lovely pool and small play area for the children. The animals were the highlight for our children - tame calves who liked their fingers, dogs, cats, kittens, chickens, goats and horses. Horse riding lessons were very reasonable but not much was taught. For 18 Euros there was 30 minutes of grooming and tacking up, 30 minutes in the arena and 30 minutes led pony ride through the estate so even though it was advertised as a one hour lesson they actually got one and a half hours with the horses. The children really enjoyed this and if you are not looking for seroius riding lessons I would recommend it. We will certainly look at going back again another year.

I am glad that you have appreciate your stay with us, and especially with all the animals.
Sorry for the riding lesson : Frédérique give a very important place to the relationship human/horse and takes time to set that relation.
I hope I will welcome you again at home.

Sincerely
Isabelle
