“Hotlaps were good, self drive was limited”
Reviewed 10 January 2014

Good fun if you want a sunday drive in a cool car around a cool race track. The hot laps were excellent with the company driver.
Having been involved in club racing before, I expected to be able to get out and charge around the course but they have an instructor next to you reminding you it's a drive experience not a race experience and wouldn't let me go to full throttle on the mucilago or Ferrari which was an experience I had always wanted to feel and compare to my Porsche. This left me walking away half satisfied. But probably makes it a good idiot proof option for a mum n dad average driver.

“Built from scratch & still growing. We get both driver and spectators staying with us, being only”
Reviewed 28 May 2013

We congratulateHDMSP for the tremendous effort and finance they are putting in to get this recent development to continue th grow and be more popular. We are pleased to be able to share in their success by hosting both competitors and crews and spectators, being only 6 mins from the track and 10 mins back to it (work that one out!). it is refreshing to see kiwi ingenuity and hard work succeed and the casual, laid-back, kiwi atmosphere mean it's easy foe spectators to mix & mingle with the competitors, their machines and crews. Though I'm no petrol-head, it's great to hear, see and smell the excitement. Long may it succeed. We have no commercial link between us and the park except that their drivers & crews and spectators need accommodation and we happen to provide accomodation to travellers and are very close to the track. I used (as secretary of the local Lions Club) organise the Lions who did track marshalling in return for a donation to the Club which was distributed back into the community by using the Lions Motto "we serve" to help those less fortunate than ourselves. It no longer happens (they now use a group of guys happy to do the marshalling just for fun) but I mention it so that there can be no thought of collusion in writing this review.

“Loud and Fast”

Great track with good view of most of the track giving spectators great value for money. Being able to freely access the pit area on most race days is an added bonus. Adult bar area is in a great place to watch racing also.

“Hampton Downs MotorSport Park”
Reviewed 14 April 2013

Hampton Downs MotorSport Park is a facility that still has yet to be completed.
But the events held there are made enjoyable by vitue of how close you can get to the action & the competitors & there cars.
Highly recommend the annual, New Zealand Festival of Motor Racing, with alternating theme's of celebrating a New Zealand driver or an automotive brand involved in motor racing in New Zealand.
Any of the motor racing hosted by various clubs at Hampton Downs is enhanced by being able to watch from about 70% of the track. Good spots to take pictures, even with a point & shoot.
Generally there is good catering as well.
Best of all it's close to home.
