Had a lovely stay here with my son. The owners couldn't do enough to help. Communication was quick and easy. Sorted internet out for us via the use of a dongle, which was much appreciated (although limited use due to having a finite amount for the week). The house is well equipped, the location is very rural and away from it all whilst being a few minutes' drive from various towns and villages. A bigger TV and unlimited wifi would definitely be an asset for the likes of families who like all mod cons, but if getting away from it all is what you're after, book this lovely cottage.
The owner was very quick to respond, both before the stay started and during our stay when we had a few issues. The kitchen is a good size and the garden, whilst shared, was large. However, there were several issues we found that were disappointing. Firstly the bathroom needs some updating - the shower over the bath doesn't work; the stand-alone shower wouldn't drain properly. Secondly, the beds particularly in the middle room, were very poor and the mattresses need replacing. The worst thing, though, was that the house was extremely damp. When we arrived, it was between 90 to 95% humid, according to the owner's humidity sensor. Throughout our week, we made use of the dehumidifier (which hadn't been on when we arrived) alternated with opening windows but the house remained damp (70-85%). Damp was visible on the ceiling of the middle bedroom and a small amount in the bedroom closest to the bathroom. That room also had a very unpleasant damp smell.

Had a wonderful stay in this house in August 2015. It is very well furnished, with all the necessary equipment, kitchen is ideal for a party of 6. Loved the patio area for barbequing in the evenings and for watching the local barn owl, who frequented the barn next door most evenings. However, was a little disappointed with the play area, as it needed a little more upkeep. The weather during our stay was excellent and we managed to visit the coast around Le Touquet frequently, it is approx 35/40 minutes drive away, some lovely sandy beaches here to explore. Caretaker, Lee, was a fantastic help and has great local knowledge, a huge bonus. Would go back next year, if it is still rentable.
Had a lovely stay in Laurel house, the surroundings were peaceful and not too far from all amenities. Great restaurants in near by town Hesdin. Definitely will be back.
