The rooms are absolutely stunning at this resort and the staff could not be more accommodating. I called ahead with a few special requests and all were promptly responded to and executed properly. Amazing beach, amazing views and water.

Compared to Cap Juluca or Cuisinart, the resort definitely has a more modern vibe and you'll see a lot more younger aged people endlessly texting. That being said, there was a mix of mainly couples. I can't help but wonder if they truly understand the beauty of this island and the amazing culinary experiences to be had. Anguilla has quickly surpassed St. Barths for me and I hope that this sort of detached-VP of sales type clientele does not transform the charming Anguillans to suit. I say this because we ran into a lot of guests from the North East who thought they are "somebody" at the resort and they were pretty annoying. Staff was extremely accommodating and jumped at their request. Overall, love love love this resort, can't wait to return. Suites are well worth the money and make your dinner reservations around the island well in advance especially Nov-Feb!

Room Tip: Suites and rooms with plunge pool worth the upgrade. Ask for rooms on lower levels for walk out acce...

Could be the prettiest place I've ever stayed. Built right at the edge of the water, the views and aesthetics are just amazing. The view from the Sunset Lounge, well, at sunset, is just plain amazing. The views from just about everywhere are enough to bring me back )make sure you visit the deck outside the spa).
Very good service on the whole, with only a few minor setbacks. Food at Coba is outstanding (make sure you try the bisque), as is the setting over the ocean. Beautiful beaches, particularly at Mead's Bay, and some decent, although not very eventful snorkeling. Food elsewhere is solid, but pricey...then again this is Anguilla...just about everything was expensive. Service charges add up to a pretty chunky portion of the bill and are a bit disconcerting. I had trouble leaving any extra tips given how much was already built in to the bill.
We stayed in one of the villas, beautifully appointed, nice little pool with our own private setting and view of the water. We were well taken care of by our "Lifestyle Assistants" who were for the most part very attentive, and the villas themselves are extremely comfortable and very roomy. Having a golf cart was a nice touch and got us back and forth from the beach and tennis courts with ease. Nice tennis courts, good pro...basketball, volleyball, and climbing wall were all in great condition and were nice touches. Kids club got solid reviews by my 5 and 7yr old nephews.
Three negatives...hot water supply in the villa, air conditioning flow to the master bedrooms. Inconsistent and need to be addressed. Wifi was awful...only able to access the internet when standing in the kitchen.
Overall a great stay and a place I would highly recommend....a few touch ups and the place really rocks.

We greatly appreciate your review. Thank you for staying with us!
Many guests agree with your favorable words about the Sunset Lounge. It is one of the most popular destinations on the island. Thank you also for your comments about the three areas that we should take note of and I guarantee you, we will be on top of these. If we can remedy the wifi access beyond the kitchen area, we certainly will. I do not recall that we have been notified about this before, so thank you.
We certainly look forward to your return visits. Thank you again for your comments and stay with us.

The entire experience was horrible. I'm an avid traveler normally platinum Starwood annually. When I travel and spend that kind of money I expect a much higher level of service. Simplest way for me to describe how this felt to me was 5star resort prices with very basic low level timeshare service. We checked in and AL at the front desk was amazing, it was all downhill from there. We got to our room and immediately jumped in the little Mini pool on the balcony, turned on the jets and relaxed, room is very nicely decorated and views are amazing. We were hungry so we decided to eat at sunset lounge. Great food, but the worst service I've ever experienced. There were literally 3 tables and we counted 6 servers at least, you would think that would make for some great service right? WRONG! We ordered a drink which came about 25 minutes later. A Bit frustrating watching the entire staff huddled in a corner talking and laughing and texting while youre waiting for your $20 drink. The food came a long time later and when it did they were so confused they put our plates down then literally cleared our entire table and then returned again with the same plates. It was very hot outside and we ordered some spicy food so i needed a second drink, (We were never offered water) So as I was sweating I waved down our waitress from their hangout in the corner to order another drink. After literally 45 minutes i finally got up and walked over and was asked if i was ready for my check, i said no i wanted my drink i ordered a while ago. They then gave me my drink that had been sitting up there in the server area. nice and watered down from the melted ice. I guess everyone hanging out on their cell phones was more important? From there we decided to take a walk and return to our room. We wanted to get a drink out of our minbar but it was empty and we were informed that we could purchase whatever we want and store it there. (My first time ever hearing that at a 5star) luckily we had a bottle of water from our transfer earlier. We relaxed and decided after the long day that we wanted to order room service for dinner. Two hours later it arrives. Two hours for two burgers some macaroni and a salad? We then wanted to enjoy our French fries with maybe some ketchup? Sorry they didn't give us any. We called back room service they apologized for forgetting and said they would send it. It never arrived. So some dry fries later we turn in for the night. The next morning we had an early start with a couples massage booked the night before. We go to check in and the people at te desk confirm our appointment for two massages in separate rooms. We tell them no we are requested a room together. They apologize and say it will be no problem. We then go to change. we return to the lobby and our attendants come and get us and escort us to individual rooms. We inform them for now the third time that we need a room together and they escort us back to the waiting room while they have to go make arrangements for us. 15mins later we are escorted back up to the couples room. The massages were great except for the fact they were very aggressively trying to upsell additional products and treatments not very relaxing, Ive never experienced this before. After our massages, we went to concierge to reserve slots at painting class and they confirm us and tell us to arrive at 4pm to start. So we went back to our room and were going to go into our plunge pool again but this time the jets didn't work, we hit the switches and could hear the pumps turn on but no pressure. We call the front desk and they tell us they will send someone.3 hours later no one comes so we call back and ask for manager who of course was busy and would call back. An hour later no call back so we call again and they tell us that they are a supervisor and what can they do to help. We explain the issue with the pool and they say they are sending someone right now. We tell them ok we are going to the painting class so please if they could fix it before we returned. We go downstairs to the painting class, well no one bothered to call and tell us it was cancelled. I understand that it was not the hotels fault it was cancelled but it was certainly their fault for not calling to tell us. We would have been sleeping or sitting on the beach or would have made other plans. So we go back to our room and the pool jets and light still are not working we call again to see of anyone came and they told us yes and it's functioning properly and that there are no jets in the pool or a light we tell them we used it the night before and they tell us we couldn't have. My frustrations now skyrocketing, at this point I gave up and called it a night. We didnt spend another minute or dollar on anything at this horrible resort. We walked up the beach to the restaurants around the area and took taxis to others. We had just came from such a high at st Bart's and were expecting so much more from the viceroy brand. This absolutely ruined our honeymoon. We will never return.

This review could have been vastly different; the beginning of our stay and the end of our stay were two different vacations. We visited the property with our two small children (2 and 7 months) and our vacation started out quite rough. We had a rude encounter with one of the staff and complained to the management. The response was good but not great. We complained again and it was at this point that I realized why we paid to stay at the Viceroy. The staff did a complete 180 and earned my excellent review and respect. From that moment on, we had nothing but the best time. The restaurants are amazing, the views are unparalleled on the island, and it felt like we were on a second honeymoon.

For families with kids, Sarah at Generation V organized the best babysitter for us and we used her the entire stay (8 days). The pools are kid friendly, the beach is perfect for little swimmers, and the property was safe for all.

I am only writing this review because the staff at the Viceroy earned it. I cannot wait to go back to Anguilla and stay at this hotel. In the meantime, we are looking forward to visiting other Viceroy properties.

The resort itself is magnificent. The public spaces, the rooms, pools, beach are all breathtaking. The food is very good.
The service is awful? Most of the staff are poorly trained.
Additionally, the hotel charges a service fee of 10 percent of your room charge which could run between $55-$100 per day for the service staff . This is not told to you at time of reservation, Why do we need to pay for their staff? When talking to staff they all push for additionally gratuities and tell you the hotel only pays them $5.00 per hour.

If this hotel could provide Ritz Carleton service it could be a contender for a top ten world resort. If they charge a service fee their staff should be told to inform the guest that their tips will be added to the bills similar to the cruise industry.

It is still the best place to stay on the island as we checked out the other places. Their are two more contenders entering the arena within the next year. If Viceroy does not provide 5 star service they will fall behind

The hotel property is big, they have 3 beaches to choose from. The decor all over (rooms and public spaces) is so lavish, beautiful and chic. Our room was one of the nicest we've had. In August they usually have good prices because it is their low season. The main bigger beach is gorgeous. The food at all their restaurants is sooo good. The lounge bar is fantastic, day or night. Highly reccommended for families or couples. They also have a kids club that offer plenty of activities for them and a spa that is great. Tennis and basketball courts. Really nice vacation. would def go back!
