Recently stayed in the Casa operate by a friendly and helpful couple Ernesto and Mireya. I booked online by http://rentasantaclara.com, email back and forth with Mireya (I used Google translate to translate English into Spanish). Mireya help me arrange taxi pick-up at Viazul bus station from La Habana (you want that since many, many people will try to sell their service at Viazul station) Ernesto's cousin Eloy come and pick-up me and my mom.
Once arrived, Mireya politely ask for our passports.... Oops, I left our passports at the safety box in Havana... Long story short, I arrange to get our passport by night time, so please everyone: BRING YOUR PASSPORT WITH YOU WHEN YOU STAY IN EACH HOTEL AND/OR CASA during your trip to Cuba, it's illegal and impossible to accept guests with no original passport and Cuban tourist card.
Dinner and breakfast was great, a lot, I mean A LOT of fruit and veggie to select from, Cuban food prepared by Mireya and Ernesto (I think also Mireya's mom) is delicious. I highly recommend to have breakfast and dinner arrange by the host (since I don't speaks Spanish)
Our room has good A/C, a TV, fridge, and nice big bathroom with big shower stall (can fit 2, good for couple, haha)
Spotless clean, great hosts, great food... where else would you stay.

I stayed a couple of days with my two daughters at Casa de Ernesto y Mireya last year. The owners are very nice people, very helpfull, the place is cheap, clean, central, room is quite big. I highly recommend this place for anyone going to Santa Clara

As home stay is most common accommodation form in Cuba,we discovered great differences in every stay.Ernesto and Mireya home was extremely clean, never saw such clean and tidy home in Cuba!Simple house but so clean! And food-Ernesto is very particular about his food, great selection,so well represented, very tasty! And he is good in his pricing as well. And most discrete people we met in Cuba.So very happy with stay, almost best in Cuba:)

The rooms and accommodation were simple but perfect. Our hosts were lovely people and they prepared the most amazing meals for us. It's located near the centre of Santa Clara and seems to be in a pretty safe neighbourhood.

Our hosts arranged to have us picked up from the bus station and I would strongly suggest that everybody agrees to this -the station is flooded with taxi drivers and casa owners when a new bus arrives in and it's nice to see somebody with your name on a sign.
