Every once in a while, you stumble upon an experience that goes so far beyond your expectations that you are just blown away by it. For Christy and me, our stay at The Inn On The Bay was just that kind of experience!! I can't say enough about the quality of this place, the incredible service of Normand (Louise was away the week we were there, but we hope to meet her on our next trip), the amazing view of Marigot Bay from the deck of the Inn... Not only do I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting St. Lucia, but we are already trying to figure out when we can get back. If you're going to St. Lucia, you must, must, MUST stay at this Inn!! It is peaceful, the service is very gracious, and you'll even get a whole bunch of hilarious jokes from Normand during your stay!! :) Normand, thank you again for your wonderful hosting. Can't wait to see you again!!

We have just returned from our second stay with Normand and Louise. The Inn on The Bay must have one of the finest views in the world. We love it so much we bought an apartment on Discovery at Marigot Bay, which is currently being built.

The Inn is a gem, small and very personal, we highly recommend it (but selfishly, not to too many people!)

I recently returned from a trip to St. Lucia and a stay at The Inn on the Bay from May 7 through May 13. The previous reviewers acurately and adequately extoll the virtues of this great little gem. I am in total agreement with their high praise. I will add just two comments about concerns I had before making this trip. First, would it be too hot given the time of the year. Answer, no because of the constant breezes, particularly on the high hill that the Inn is situated. The fact is the weather was more comfortable at the Inn than here in Washington when I returned. Also, an advantage of traveling at this time of year is that the island and facilities are not crowded. The second concern was that I was not your typical guest, being 65, a widower traveling alone, and having mobility problems. No way could I climb those 300 steps much less do any extended walking. Normand did a great job accomodating my needs by doing transport trips himself or arranging for others (including water taxis) to do the job. It was also fun interacting with other guests. This is a great place to stay, a great location, but the best part is the outstanding individual attention given by your gracious hosts.

My wife and I have lived in Europe, Asia and Australasia for a number of years, consequently we have had the great good fortune to be able to take our holidays in a wide variety of interesting and exotic destinations. Usually we refer to avoid the larger tourist resorts so that we can enjoy the local sights, food and people at our own pace.
We have just had our first visit to St Lucia, an experience we enjoyed immensely and will certainly remember for a very long time. It was an outstanding holiday, which was spent at "Inn on the Bay" in Marigot Bay. The views from the Inn were spectacular, the facilities excellent but even these were surpassed by the genuine friendliness, good humour, hospitality and assistance shown by our hosts, Norman and Louise. They were marvellous. We shall return.

We had an idyllic week at The Inn on the Bay and I would unreservedly recommend it to anyone.
Louise and Normand are the perfect hosts; never obtrusive, but always there whenever you need them and generous with all the help and advice that makes sure you get the best out of your stay. Our friends were there to be married, and Louise and Normand made all the arrangements for what proved to be a truly wonderful event.
The Inn's setting couldn't be better; perched high over beautiful Marigot Bay, with a panoramic view of the harbour and the constant comings and goings of beautiful yachts. The ensuite rooms are generous and airy, thoughtfully furnished and immaculately clean.
Louise's delicious baking made breakfast a real event, and again their thoughtfulness and attention to detail was evident in the wide choice of fresh fruits, cereals, breads and cheese also provided.
If you're going to St. Lucia, go to Marigot Bay - it's much more unspoiled than other parts of the island - and definitely stay at the Inn on the Bay.

We first visited The Inn on the Bay in May, 1999 and greatly enjoyed the location, the hospitality of the owners, Normand and Louise and, of course, the St Lucia Jazz Festival.
When we decide to get married, it was an absolutely inspirational decision to go back to Marigot Bay. Our wedding party totalled 16 and all of the arrangements had to be done 'long distance' in advance of our arrival.
Normand couldn't have been more helpful, both before we arrived and during our stay. He contacted the owner of the wedding venue, put us in touch with an outstanding caterer, organised a photographer, liased with lawyers about the marriage licence and still had time to be the perfect 'mine host' during our two weeks at the Inn.
Anyone looking to have a very special wedding against a backdrop of phenomenal beauty (Marigot Bay!) should get in touch with the Inn on the Bay.
We have such wonderful memories of the day, that will surely be with us throughout our lives - thank you Normand and Louise for helping to create them!

We enjoyed our stay. It was Sally's first trip out of the country to the islands. Normand and Louise were gracious hosts. Normand is a very gregarious spirit. But Louise really runs the place. There are 4 main rooms that face the pool and "extra room" off the end of the home... sort of out of the way. It is smaller than the rest and no appreciable view but clean none the less. Normand has wireless ethernet for a PC in the break room so you can always check in with friends and family if you like. If you have your own wireless PC, give it a shot too. Marigot Bay is a very lovely bay. You can hike down Normands 300 stairs to the bay for a little swim, but there only a bench in a clearing and no beach at the end of the 300 stairs. The hike back is VERY aerobic! The water is okay, but it is an active bay so watch out for boaters if you try and snorkel down there. There are much nicer places to go snorkeling. The breakfast fare is always consistent, toast, jam, coffee, tea, cheeses, fruits, cereals. Normand's continual shuttle service to and from the bay down the long dirt driveway/road to his place is much appreciated. It is a nice hike up the hill if you want the exercise. Recommend taking water taxi's rather than overland routes. Watertaxi's are much more scenic. The roadways are, let's say, basic. The pool at the Inn was always clean and refreshing (aka... cooooool!). Also, if you want to book sailing, recommend pushing more for it because the boats are not readily available. The small boats that ARE available are for VERY active and VERY wet day sailing, nothing like taking a nice sailboat cruise on a 35-45 footer. We missed our chance while there for a week, but tried often. Normand was always trying to find alternatives to it though. He's very attentive and quite the wheeler-dealer (comes naturally to a retired attorney). One our our favorite parts of the trip was the dinners with all of the other guests at the Inn. Normand would arrange a taxi for everyone to go out to a very nice restaurant together and sometimes he and Louise would come along. It was lots of fun! You'll be sure to enjoy that part tremendously.
