We booked the Caribbean blue suite for our honeymoon and it was nothing short of perfection!!! We highly recommend it for the couple who likes to do things on their own. Just a short (gorgeous) 15-20 walk down the hill to all the waterside restaurants and stores, the villa is always clean, and you get a pool to yourselves! The view is worth a million dollars. It was definitely the best part!!!

“The perfect getaway”
Reviewed 24 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

The Caribbean blue suite is as "sweet" as it sounds! My husband booked this lovely place for our honeymoon and it was spectacular. The view is unbelievable, and the pool was the perfect place to relax and enjoy a beautiful sunset. Uriel, the owner took the time to make sure we had everything and even left a cell phone for us to use in case we needed a taxi throughout the week. The kitchen was stocked with pots/pans which we definitely took advantage of. While there are many great restaurants in Marigot bay, we found that our favorite thing to do was cook our own food and enjoy the wonderful views from the mountain top. Groceries in Marigot bay were rather pricey, however we took a taxi to a grocery store approx 15 min away that was much more reasonable. Definitely consider doing the seaspray day away adventure. It was awesome. I should also mention that the cleaning staff and pool guy were very friendly and even cleaned our dishes for us! The pool guy enjoys singing to himself which was entertaining.

“Exceptional View”
Reviewed 9 February 2017 for a stay in January 2017

Top 3 reasons to stay in the Caribbean Blue Suite are the View, the View, and also the View. Privacy was what I was expecting and you have it there. The suite is surrounded by dense vegetation. The plunge pool is just great. Clean and well maintained. The grounds are well maintained. The accommodation is small with a rudimentary kitchen and dated appliances. Although small it opens widely onto a very spacious Caribbean Sea.
Hours lounging in and around the plunge pool is very easy making it difficult to want to leave for such things as going out to dinner. Sunsets are memorable.
We did have a car rental with drive-a-matic for our stay in St Lucia, and stayed at the Caribbean Blue Suite for 3 nights. Christina the housekeeper is lovely and helpful. A mobile phone is provided which is a great idea and useful, and can easily contact Uriel, the manager of the property, who is friendly, informative, and helpful. Suggested to Uriel to improve the broadband as basic internet use is satisfactory, however the use of streaming services is limited.
Would definitely stay again - better yet we would stay at the adjoining separate apartment of the same house - Emerald VIlla- which is just spectacular all around with arguably the best views of any property in Marigot Bay.

“A holiday of a life time!”
Reviewed 7 August 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Saint Lucia is a beautiful country! The people are friendly, food is incredible, the scenery epic but it was Caribbean Blue that really made our holiday so special. Thank you for the kind welcome and having us stay in your wonderful cliff top paradise. We truly had the time of our lives sitting out on the deck, watching the sun sets over the ocean and sipping a few celebratory glasses of champagne, whilst watching the hummingbirds twitch around the garden. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you could ever possibly need to cook some great meals, although the restaurants in the bay are brilliant, spending at least one night in the suite to appreciate the wonderful views and to dine out under the stars is a must! The little supermarket has some great treats. The bed was incredibly comfy and air conditioning works a treat too, oh and thanks for the very thoughtful supply of mosquito spray etc! On the 1st of June (my birthday) my now fiancee proposed out on the veranda as the sun set looking out over the Caribbean, it couldn't have been a more perfect spot! We do hope to come back one day... maybe the honeymoon! We would totally recommend going to the Rainforest Hideaway, it was a little on the pricey side but the food and atmosphere were perfect. We luckily got the best seat in the house - right on the edge of the pontoon style restaurant, post engagement too, so couldn't have been more spot on! Oh and make sure you go when they have live jazz on! We also loved the indian above the shops, incredible flavours and hospitality too! We also hired a car for a few days and missioned around the island getting a bit lost - there doesn't seem to be any signs! Pigeon Island was a good day out, do make sure you take the route round to the left to where the beaches are and a super little restaurant too. We walked up the fort despite the gales, well worth it for the views! Definitely go and see the Pitons and try to get into Sugar Beach Resort to check out the snorkelling there. Also if you're into diving it is a must do in the Caribbean too! Woooowee Saint Lucia you were an absolute dream! Big thanks to Alice for your welcome too, you spoke a few times with Ed. We really appreciated your suggestions of places to go and things to see! You certainly have a little haven there!

We just returned from a 10 day stay at the Blue Ocean Suite. This is a perfect spot for two people who want privacy and pure comfort. The pool, the view, the landscape, etc. was extraordinary. My wife and I loved it and have no complaints. The housekeeper is Christina and she is a sweetheart who walks 3 miles to and from this property five days per week It was a pleasure to give her rides home when we could. The banana boat goes by every day around 8:00AM. Give them a wave for me.

“We would have loved to give this top marks”

The setting of the villa is truly wonderful, and the views of the sunset over the Caribbean Sea will stay in our memories. The real star is the long private plunge pool which is so relaxing and enjoyable. You are very close to nature here, a pair of semi-tame Lesser Antillean bullfinches, small lizards and tiny tree frogs share the space, and on one occasion a very large tarantula (which we now believe relatively harmless - sorry spider, too late!) shared the bathroom. The bedroom has an efficient air conditioner, which was a real bonus at night, and generally speaking the villa delivers as described on the website.
Although there was nobody there to greet us upon arrival the manager (a friendly chap called Uriel) left us a mobile phone and a number to call him, and he was able to give good instructions over the phone to help us find our way around.

Whilst we loved our stay, and would be happy to visit again, there were a number of things that meant we feel we can't give it a 5 out of 5 score we would have loved to do:

Water - The pump supplying the water [we were to find out] is on the neighbouring property (same owner) and the guests here 'accidentally' switched this off so we had no running water one morning until Uriel was able to get to us to resolve the issue.
Mozzie Bites - The villa is surrounded by tropical forest, so these are to be expected. An electrical device is supplied to help combat the problem but this was broken on arrival. When we saw Uriel the next morning he took it away to fix it, and it never came back.
Security Measures - Whilst well intentioned the razor wire which is visible from the plunge pool does compromise the view a little, and the security gate in to the bedroom area which we were asked to lock whenever we left the property is very difficult to unlock for anyone with big wrists/hands
Cleanliness - The accommodation was satisfactorily cleaned daily, but the whole site is overdue a proper 'deep clean'
Light Outside the Bedroom Window - The issue of the outside light spoiling sleep quality as mentioned by an earlier reviewer had not been properly addressed, so we simply switched it off, although to be fair an electrician did come along during our stay and did something to help.

Hi Denis & Julie,

Firstly let me say thank you for staying with us at the Caribbean Blue Suite and we're happy to hear that it's impeccable location and view is one you will never forget.

The view of course, is definitely the main attraction of this villa - that, and the romantic plunge pool. But we also definitely take your feedback very seriously, and actually there is a plan that is steadily upgrading various aspects of the villa to modern standards as yes, it's an older home (hence the reason it has such a wonderful location - it was one of the first in the bay).

I have to say though, our gardens and landscaping team are exceptional and the plants and flowers around really are beautiful. We'll see if maybe we could hide a bit of the fencing a bit more though.

The water as you say is never an issue - and not sure why the guests next door decided to turn it off but that doesn't ever happen in normal circumstances. Sorry about that.

September through October represent the rainy season in St. Lucia, which generally brings a few more mosquitoes with it. In other seasons though the bugs are not really a complaint, and all beds in all of our villas have bed netting as well so you can always get a peaceful sleep. We also offer citronella candles and spray if you feel you need it.

But all in all, it's nice to hear that you enjoyed yourselves and were able to soak in some of the beauty that is St. Lucia.

Thanks again for your review, and if you decide to come back to St. Lucia, we would love to ensure a perfectly seamless stay for you next time, whether at this villa or another!

All the best,

“Fantastic place, could be perfect with a couple slight tweaks”

As others have said, this suite is secluded and has a spectacular view. The plunge pool is spectacular and the living area is quaint with all you need to make a comfortable stay. It was exactly what we were hoping for when we booked. I give it a 5 star rating with a few caveats. You are not staying at a resort, so things might not be completely smooth, so it is best to know what you are getting into. For example, I had to change out the propane tank on the stove on arrival. This is no problem for me at all (and actually gave me a feeling of ownership of the place). Also, there were a couple of annoyances. Since you are at the top of the hill and the end of the lines, the water lines will often get air in them and when you turn on the faucet you will get some spitting water that has a tendency to get everywhere. No big deal, you just need to be prepared. Finally, and I have already let the owner know, we had two issues with the bedroom. My wife could hardly sleep with how hard the bed was. The great thing was the manager worked with use to find a solution ASAP and our final nights were very comfortable. Also, there are security lights right outside the bedroom window that you are asked not to turn off, however there are no blackout curtains on the windows, so it remains very bright in the bedroom all night. We were able to hang up some extra blankets and block most of the light, but some curtains would have been great. One last note. You do not actually have a view of Marigot Bay, but rather the open ocean. It is a great view, but be aware that to get the view of the bay you would need to stay next door at the Emerald Hill Villa (which our neighbors were kind enough to let us see).

All in all, we loved our stay, but there are a couple of things we would fix to make it perfect! It is a wonderful, romantic place for a couple and I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Hi there, thanks for your 5 star rating, but still well-rounded review and appreciation of the Caribbean Blue Suite as a nice romantic getaway and for its spectacular view! :)

We're happy that changing the propane tank gave you a sense of ownership (hey, that's great), but we would have been happy to take care of that for you as well! It is good to know that our manager did find a solution for you in terms of the mattress. It is hard to please everyone in terms of their mattress preferences as some people prefer very soft, some hard, so we try to stay somewhat in the middle.

We'll definitely look into putting some thicker curtains in the bedroom for future guests, thanks for bringing that to our attention - I'd never heard that comment before.

In terms of the view, as you say, yes it's just the ocean view (I say just", but it's a breathtaking view as you mentioned), and not of Marigot Bay. The pictures of the views for this property that you see on our website are very accurate. I guess any confusion may derive from the fact that the villa is still located technically in Marigot Bay, but just has a view facing the Caribbean Sea (which by the way, offers some amazing sunset views).

Thanks again for your stay, your comment, and we hope to welcome you back again sometime! All the best on your future travels! :)
