Great hotel close to Cannigione center. Friendly and helpful personnel at the reception. Animation team is excellent. Food is much better than we expected - and we do like the Sardinian/Italian food. Buffet with hams, cheese, pasta, meat, fish - all fresh and really good. Always a special kids-treat on the menu to. We had halfboard and it was really good.
Cleaning of rooms is spotless. The pool is big and enjoyed by the kids.

Rent a car and find you "own" beach in the area. Try Baja Sardinia (15 mins away) if you want a big and lovely beach with views that is incredible.
Visit Vigne Surrau a few minutes away to taste wine and see the wineyard.

We would love to come back to Blu Morisco again.

Room Tip: Ask for (or pay extra for) a room with Sea View. We had a quadruple superior (room 303) with two big...

Me and my mother stayed at this hotel 7-14/9. Before the trip, I read that there are quite a lot of children running around the hotel, but I thought this was only in the high season (June-August). "Unfortunately" that was not the case. It truly is a family hotel and you can see this by all the activities available for the kids (such as singing from 22-23 pm every evening), play area etc. If you travel as a family, I would recommend this hotel highly. If you travel as a couple, there's probably quieter hotel nearby.

SERVICE: Overall the service was very good. We only experienced that Antonella was very unfriendly at the reception. We discovered that our minibar did not work so we informed her about it. We also asked if it was possible to change our room to a room in a quieter are as our room was next to the bar where it is loudly at night. She did not think this was possible but would ask a colleague who is in charge of the rooms. She wrote down our room number on a piece of paper but days passed and nothing happened. When we for a second time asked about the mini bar and room change you could hear that she had not taken the matter further, and she did not hide it very well.

FOOD: We had half board, breakfast and dinner in our case. The breakfast was OK but pretty boring and unhealthy: sweet fruit yogurt, white bread, two kinds of children's cereals, lots of different jams and nutella, tasteless scrambled eggs, eggs that you have to boil yourself (watch out for egg thieves!), dessert buns, cookies etc. My breakfast during the week consisted of natural yogurt with banana (I took the habit of taking a banan from dinner service and take it back to breakfast because there is no fresh fruit at breakfast), toasted white bread with salami, boiled eggs and coffee.

The food at the dinner service was better. The grilled meat was mostly dry so I used to eat the pasta dishes instead. Loved the lasagna that was served one day! And the green lasagna with spinach was divine! The desserts were good one day and not so good other days.

THE SURROUNDINGS: Cannigione is a very quiet area and although Morisco is close to town there is not much to do. Most shops are closed between 13 and 17 due to their siesta. Good opportunity to sunbath in other words =) A small market is opening up at the harbor starting at 20.

The bus (hop on outside the ATM) goes 4 times a day to for example, Porto Cervo, Porto Rotondo etc. Although the hotel is near the sea, the beach isn't so nice. Instead you can take the bus to Baia Sardinia (2 euro/person single trip) or the little train that is reserved for Blu hotel guests (Baja, Morisco, Laconia) and cost 2 euro/person round trip or 10 euro for a week) to the beach at Stella Marine which is about 20 minutes away. Otherwise, it is good to swim in the hotel pool as long as you wear a bathing cap (1 euro).

Highly recommend to make an excursion to the La Maddalena Islands. The trip begings at 9:15 and you are at home at around 17:30. The boat stays on nice beaches and finally in La Maddalena city. The excursion costs 40 euro/person and lunch is served on the boat.

I also recommend to try the burgers at Café Coco loco and eat some ice cream at La dolce vita!

Room Tip: Rooms that aren't located to either the pool or the bar/lounge are quieter.

Overall the experience was very good. The staff including cleaners, waiters and bar staff were all very friendly and made our stay very pleasurable, apart from a few receptionists who were decidedly unfriendly.
The food was excellent especially over the Italian holiday period but we found restaurant food over-priced in Cannigione outside of the hotel. We found the evening meal much better than the breakfast - don't touch the scrambled eggs but the boiled eggs are very nice.
I advise anyone who visits in 2/3rd weeks in August to reserve a car in the UK because there were no hire cars available over the week we were there (10-17th Aug) due to an influx of Italian holidaymakers. However, we still had a good time due to the availability of excursions. I recommend the excursion to the Magdalana Islands by sailing Yacht - it was fantastic. We used the Hotel Baja swimming pool instead of the Blu Hotel Morisco - less kids.

Hotel Bu Morisco is on of the best Hotels in Cannigione but alsno in the region, not cheap but very nice. I am coming in Cannigione for 35 years now and this hotel is inclusing the ´s sister´hotel one of the best. Internet was not always easy and only one opinion, half board is for the prive nice but for the quality...a stay in Cannugione can be make for my opinion better with visiting restaurants in Cannigione, Baja Sardinia, Porto Cervo as La Rocca, Spinnaker, Baia Blu...not too expensive and much better. The only poiint for the hotel to do it better and i do not wrote this after one visit but since 2009.

My wife and I stayed here in June. Hotel is set in a small town with several restaurants and bars within walking distance. This hotel was agreeable in all aspects apart from the food served in the canteen style restaurant. Some reviewers had touched on this before, but we believed it could not be that bad, but it was. Starting at breakfast, only choice of 2 kiddy type cereals, cheap looking rice crispies and cornflakes. No cold milk, had to use the jug of milk set next to the tea/coffee area. No fresh fruit, it was tinned. Usual fare of bread, jams, cheeses cold cuts etc. Congealed scrambled eggs. Did have a nice tea though. Dinner was awful. Pork served on 4 consecutive nights.there was salad leaves but only iceberg. Thank god for the pasta trays. I lived on those all week. There was talk from previous reviews that you could eat in the sister restaurant next door, this now not allowed, as both hotels eat in the one dining room. Deserts were pre-mixed disasters, not tasty.
One consolation is that you can swap your evening meal for lunch, and try one of the eateries nearby.
In summary, an adequate hotel that needs to up it's game on the catering side.

Room Tip: Rooms on the end of the building overlooking front of hotel are quietest in our experience

we have just returned from a vaccation in sardinia. we found a great hotel with lovely hospitality. very clean.beautiful garden around with nice pool in the middle. staff is very friendly. very good food durig continental breakfasts.the variety of food during dinners is vast with no disappointing. sometimes the rooms that are in front of the pool too noisy. as a whole, the location of the hotel is very good for those who choose to travel in the beatiful area of costa smeralda. by the same token and naturally it is far away from the inner parts and the south of sardinia. markets that are taking place during mondays station in front of the hotel and it's very nice. in short it is highly reccomended.

We have just returned from a amazing holiday in Sardinia staying at the Morisco Blu hotel. The lovely, friendly, hard working staff really make this hotel very enjoyable! We were not expecting much with the food having read previous reviews but we were v pleasantly surprised at how good it was, lots of choice and v good quality for a buffet style restaurant. We went with our 14 month daughter and the staff (particularly Sarou in the restaurant) couldn't do enough for us, she loved all the attention she got! The hotel is definitely better catered for families rather than couples (which is why we picked it) and the children's club looked great for older children, particularly if you are Italian as there was v few English there. We didn't stick around the hotel for the evening entertainment so cannot comment. Cannigione is a nice little town with a small nightly market and larger weekly one on a Monday which was good for purchasing cheese, fruit and other local produce. It is pretty quiet but there are a few nice bars and restaurants for the evening. we had a car which I think is necessary in Sardinia as there are so many gorgeous beaches that you need to visit. Sardinia is basically all about beaches and they really are beautiful!
