“Lovely setting & great Italian hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2014

We visited for 11 nights late June early July 2014, we loved the relaxed atmosphere & Appreciated the great Italian staff & food. It was lovely to be in the minority (English in Italian company) & the well kept amenities and good food. We went as a couple but had arranged for my sisters family to also be there. Upstairs restaurant was very nice, downstairs buffet was great for desserts! We had a good room with great view, my sister had to refuse 2 rooms to be in a nice airy room not near the kitchens. Anyway the location is good for exploring and only 40 mins from airport. Porto Cuervo is worth a visit to see those boats!

Room Tip: Second floor is decently better

Our family of 4 (including daughters of 22 and 18) stayed in Villa Orchidea in early July. Villa is a two minute walk away from the main resort. The Villa was excellent with 2 large bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin) and two bathrooms. Well equipped kitchen, large linge area which opens out onto a lovely balcony with breathtaking views.
Aircon was very efficient and overall couldn't fault the location or facilities. Was very clean and towels were exchanged half way through the week. Resort itself was good with a nice pool and plenty of sun loungers available. Bar and lounge area again very nice and snack bar for lunch great value. We ate in the main restaurant once which was very crowded and noisy but had a good selection of freash food. We ate at Terrace restaurant on our last night and we felt was expensive for what it was. Reception staff very efficient and friendly, arranged a taxi for us and also offered a courtesy room for an hour on th eday of our departure. Would thoroughly recommend this location and the villas 'attached'.

Room Tip: Villas just few minutes walk away are roomy and away from the many 'villa type' rooms on the...

If I could have given 3.5 I would, 3 would have been harsh, so I have gone for 4!
We stayed in Villa Erica in July/August 2014. Villa is OK, although the 1 shower needs modernising. The aircon was also quite ineffective, particularly in the main bedroom. The villa is a few minutes walk from the hotel.
The pool at the hotel was nice, the loungers didn't all have shades.
Bar service was very good.
We ate in the main buffet restaurant once and not great, breakfast buffet once and also not great.
Easy walk into the pleasant little village, the shuttle to the better beach was also good.
Maintenence at hotel (particularly the villa exteriors) needs work.
Lots of young families in July/August so pool is noisy during the day.
We enjoyed our stay.

Stayed in a villa at the Cala di Falco resort. The location is quite pretty with mountains on one side, and the beach and sea on the other. The facilities are also pretty good. The main restaurant's food is just ok. The pool is quite nice and there are quite a few chairs available around the pool. The front desk staff are very pleasant and helpful. The beach across the street is nice, although there aren't any services there. The beds were not the best and the sofa in our villa was really uncomfortable. WIFI is free, but it's so slow it's practically unusable. I bought a vodafone SIM and just tethered from it to get some decent internet. Other than that it's a pretty decent place to spend a week on holidays.

We are a family of 4 and stayed in a suite for 9 nights. The Suite suited us perfectly. Our 2 daughters (3 and 5) slept in the main living area in sofa beds. This was a large room and worked well. Our bedroom was again large and comfortable. Rooms well maintained and clean.

This was our first half board hotel stay with children and we really enjoyed it. The food was varied and there was always something for our one fussier daughter! We as adults really likely the food ourselves. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we really did have a lovely time. The children enjoyed a pizza party night and the evening disco/dance which took place overlooking the sea/pool.

We hired a car which was good for us as we could explore the rather beautiful area. Although we found ourselves happily relaxing by the pool! (note - the water is pretty cold in June!).

Would recommend as a family friendly relaxing hotel - would be tempted to visit again!!

My wife and I stayed for three nights in suite 315, with a wonderful terrace and sea view. The room rate and the prices for this half board stay were very reasonable. A glass of prosecco set you back less than €5 as did the Sardinian DOCG wines. The included buffets were good, in fact we both thought the buffet was sharper than the fixed four course menu you could eat for a small extra charge in the separated hotel restaurant.

Lots of families with kids but plenty of hotel activities done by heroic hotel staff meant that all youngsters were happy (almost) all the time.

Wasn't sure what to expect form this resort after reading some reviews however was pleasantly surprised.
We stayed in the Residence with friends and our 4 year old son in 2 one bed apartments overlooking the swimming pool. Apartments were great and really clean and well maintained. Free safe in the bedroom and beach towels provided and changed every 2 or 3 days. Welcome pack containing pasta, tinned tomatoes, olive oil, salt, milk and some tea and sugar sachets was provided on arrival which allowed to create a great meal one night. Only downside which I think others have mentioned is the noise from the apartments above, however I have stayed in many hotels where this is a problem and we didn't find it a real problem.
We were allowed to use the pool at the main hotel free of charge. Plenty of sun loungers although a few more umbrellas would be good. Main hotel and bar area also looked great.
We had a late return flight and we allowed the use of a courtesy room free of charge and with no problem - very much appreciated. Overall all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cannigione itself is a nice little town only 5 minutes walk away. Market every night along the harbour. Small children's fair with a giant bouncy castle/slide which my son loved! Main market on a Monday daytime. Various bar and restaurants and a couple of supermarkets within 5-10 minutes walk of the hotel. In the summer months there are some more frequent buses to Baia Sardinia and Peuto Cervo and cost around €3.50 return each. Great for a walk round and billionaire yacht watching!
Beach was a little disappointing in Cannigione. Shuttle bus available from the hotel costing €5 return for Residence guests (but free for hotel guests) to another beach further up the coast. However, this beach is still stoney/shaley and costs €20 for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella for the day. On the plus side there is a small cafe serving drinks, sandwiches, ice creams etc and toilets are also available.
Overall would really recommend this resort - it exceeded expectations.
