“Great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2013 via mobile

Visited here in January to check out for a school ski trip, staff were lovely couldn't do enough for me. Food fantastic 3 Huge courses, rooms small, but your skiing all day. Great location just walk across road and lifts are there. We hired car from turin and drove up quite easy. They have a great garage to store skis etc and workshop. Give it a go resort quiet too.

Stayed here with Rocket Ski February 2010. This is a good basic ski hotel that is about a 150 yard walk from the slopes. The rooms are adequate, they have all you need, are en-suite with loads of hot water, and are cleaned every day. The hotel is generally very quiet, our room was at the front, the only disturbance was one night when drunken revelers woke us shouting outside (Brits) and the snow ploughs which clear the street at about 6.00 am, a room at the back or side would not have this small problem.
The hotel has a good bar with friendly barman; happy hour is 5.00 to 6.00 pm when a large beer is 3.5 euros.
The dining room is a little cold and the food is served on cold plates. The breakfast is good basic continental with cereals, rolls, juices (watery), yoghurts, ham, cheese, cakes tea coffee etc.
Dinner is selected the night before from three choices, of starter and main course. The meal starts with a visit to a very good salad bar, this is followed by the starters, these were generally good, although the soups tasted as though they came from a packet. The main courses are not much bigger than the starters but this is just as well as you are eating four courses, some of these were good, some were just ok, but all were let down by half cooked potatoes!
The skiing in Claviere, Montgenevre and Miky Way is superb, Claviere village is an old Italian village with just a few bars and restaurants, so is quiet.
All in all this is not a bad hotel for the price, we would visit it again if Rocket Ski started to fly into Turin.
At the moment they fly you into Grenoble, this must be cheap, as it is an awful airport that is not built to take large aircraft, it takes an age to get your luggage and to check in. The second problem is the very long transfer time over a high mountain pass. This gets affected by snow and congestion on Saturdays resulting in transfers that are 3 hours at best or up to 6 hours if it is bad weather.

Stayed at the Passero for a wedding in December 2008.

It is a really lovely hotel which is in a very central location literally 3 mins walk from the nursery slope and the ski school etc.

The hotel staff were lovely and really helpful. The meals are really nice and you have a choice of starter and main each day. The breakfast is continental style and there is loads of it!

There is a bar within the hotel that has Sky TV and loads of comfy couches to crash on after a hard days skiiing/boarding!

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a relaxed place to stay in a lovely resort.

Have fun!

I stayed in this hotel for a 7 day ski holiday. Rooms are basic but very clean, warm and quiet. The cleaning staff are very hard working and know how to do an very good job!

The skiing in the area is excellent when one is lucky to have a lot of snow like we did, especially with the added bonus of ski pass extensions.

Apart from skiing, the food service at the hotel also made my stay special. The waiters were some of the best I've ever seen. Silviu and Alex even take care to remember personal tastes, such as one's favourite food combinations, favourite temperature of the food or favourite sauces! And talk about speed: we barely sat down and the food was there. If you are hungry after skiing and want to eat well, these two guys are really the best and deserve promotion and/or a very good pay!

I have just returned from Hotel Passero Pellegrino and I have to say it was lovely, I travelled out there with family for my brothers wedding. The staff were lovely and freindly, and the food was fantastic! The slopes are just a 2 minute walk away and if your a begginer like me the nursery slope is great! I have nothing but praise for this hotel and its staff.

Have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Passero Pellegrino in Claviere Italy.

I have nothing but praise for this small family run hotel.

It offers good basic accomodation for a very reasonable price. The staff are all excellent, well presented, very friendly and helpful. The food was good honest home cooking, a four course meal in the evening with a choice of starter and main course. The dining room had a good 'buzzy' atmosphere with a mixture of italian and british guests.

The rooms were very basic but comfortable and warm, plenty of storage and masses of hot water!!

Although I did not try it, other guests raved about the newly installed sauna ( 5 euro charge)

At night you could hear a pin drop, no disturbance at all - the guests obviously tired out after a day at the slopes ( 3 mins walk)

I would definately use this hotel again. If you are looking for a swish modern hotel then this is not the place for you, if you want old fashioned charm and excellent value then give it a try.

  • Liked — Good value with friendly staff.
  • Disliked — Nothing really.
