We (party of three) stayed at the Hotel Bess, Claviere from 3 February 2014 to 8th. The hotel is very good with the rooms being large, comfortable and well furnished. The continental breakfasts were provided with a good selection of cereals, breads, cheeses and fruit. The staffs was very helpful. The hotel is directly opposite the ski left (approx. 100 metres walk / ski) which gives good access to Claviere. There is a lift which takes you across to the rest of the Milky Way.
Claviere is a very small town, really just a main street but there is a good selection of quiet restaurants and bars. The prices are much more reasonable than the French side of skiing (beers 4 Euros against three valleys nine!) etc.
Will definitely be back at the Hotel Bes.More
