“For people who recognise good taste”
Reviewed 4 April 2014 via mobile

My wife and I have recently returned from a three night stay and I must say that from the welcome given by Shaun the proprietor to the house staff led by Pawel we felt we were being welcomed into the private home of a house gone by where staff discretely attended your every whim,we were led to the garden suite which suited us as we arrived with our little dog Barney, this was like walking into your bedroom at home decorated with a jug of iced water and the ever present Whisky Mac and like modern homes now seem to have the moving pictures, which turned out to be the alarm clock although for good measure there was also a decorative carriage clock.
The bathroom shower (including body jets) was magnificent.
The resturant from the freshly squeed orange juice at breakfast to your last cup of coffee after dinner was truly superb.
Take my advice and take a few days there you will not regret it.

We spent two very pleasant days at Airds during the recent storms and thoroughly enjoyed the experience despite the pretty atrocious weather. The hotel is warm and welcoming with real fires in the lounges and extremely attentive and professional staff aptly headed by Graham and Pawel. The food is delightful starting with delicious canapés presented in the lounge prior to Dinner. We could not fault the quality of the food and the level of service we received during our stay. Airds is well worth a visit and for us was the real deal.

In my career as a professional Scottish tourist guide and tour manager I am lucky enough to stay at some of the very best hotels in Scotland and Airds Hotel and Restaurant is by far, head and shoulders above many of the large 5 star hotels. The very warm welcome from,Pawel and Atilla,on a dreich afternoon, when we pulled in to unload luggage and shown to our room which was 'guarded' by Hamish our highland coo (who acts as the 'do not disturb' when left outside the room).
We were in time for a cream tea which was served by Peter in part of the very comfortable drawing room in front a cheery real log fire. So good we had this every day of our stay.
The team here are excellent in every way. Led by Pawel, the very charming Polish Hotel Manager, with Atilla and Peter from Hungary who are so pleasant, discreet and serve teas, canapes, dinner and breakfast with such care and attentiveness you really do feel you are in heaven. They are professional pamperers of the highest quality.
There are no tea making facilities in the rooms but can be arranged if wished, instead you are spoiled with tea/coffee delivered on a tray. This was lovely prior to breakfast as the tray also had warm danish pastries which were so light and tasty it was a real treat first thing in the morning.
Dinner is an absolute delight which starts with drinks and canapes in the drawing room. The canapes are tiny works of art and each mouthful a real surprise.
The chef, Jordan and his team are culinary artists, as each course, from Amuse bouche to dessert is so beautifully presented and such a delicious combination of flavours. They really understand the importance of food here and the saying 'you eat with your eyes' was never more true. Jordan could open an art gallery of photographs of his creations.
Breakfast is also a great experience with tasty breads and preserves and an excellent choice of courses to suit everyone. The oatmeal porridge with cream and a dram of whisky on top is amazing and a superb start to the meal which can be lingered over while watching the tide and wild birds on Loch Linnhe.
I must not forget the housekeepers. They are never seen but seem to work like magic. You close your room door and then when you open it again, even if only going out for a short while, the bed is as if no-one has sat or slept on it, the complimentary decanter of whiskymac and fruit is replenished, bathroom tidied. Your room is always perfect.
I must also mention Graham the General Manager and the very lucky owners Jenny and Shaun who all must be so proud to be part of a very special place.
I have waxed on for a while about Airds Hotel but it is perfect, a small luxurious retreat on the west coast of Scotland, where better to unwind for a short break or longer so you can try everything on the menus. It doesn't matter what the weather is like you will love this place.
Airds Hotel makes me proud to be Scottish as they promote the very best and freshest of Scottish produce, fish, seafood, meats to very apprciative guests in the most comfortable of surroundings.

Room Tip: A view of Loch Linnhe is lovely but all the rooms are gorgeous.

Well no surprises yet again .just fantastic food, relaxed atmosphere and excellent service. One goes hard to beat this hotel for consistently good food and service.everyone very polite and it's not stuffy at all.nothing seems to be a problem and staff are always on hand to give advice on food and drink and indeed anything else. One mention for Attila whose care and attention were impeccable

We stayed last weekend for a couple of nights on their 2 night special offer which was really good value and we could not have had a better time. The weather was a bit hit and miss which you would expect at this time of year but the hotel is in a good position for visiting oban for the morning or afternoon and the hotel has some lovely walks right opposite which we enjoyed. This is a perfect spot to really get away from it all and the attention to detail is excellent. The staff are friendly and not at all intrusive which you can sometimes find in top hotels, and this created a lovely atmosphere throughout the hotel. The food was really really excellent on both nights with a good choice of either fish or meat. Leave room for desserts as they are certainly worth it!

We were in a newly refurbished room which was so inviting - classic but modern at the same time with a fantastic bed (good advert for VI Spring!), and just generally beautifully decorated and furnished. Great toiletries, lovely large bathrobe and nice to have slippers. Overall a really enjoyable stay and will come back later in the year for some more relaxation and good food.

We visited as part of my father’s 60th birthday. The Airds Hotel was recommended by a business colleague of ours.

The Hotel was very warm, homely, friendly, quaint. The Food was especially good and the service efficient and the waiter diligent to our needs (good sense of humour too!)

I can't fault it really, it's not got the finesse of a 5* hotel, but it's homely and i kind of liked that!

Taken here by the family for my birthday. I know the area but never stayed in the hotel. We were all looked after superbly. The food is just excellent, likewise the staff. The roads to Appin are goid with brilliant views & a close proximity if heading North. V Many thanks.
