Just had our fourth trip to this hotel and it continues to deliver a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food seems to get better every year. There can be few dining rooms in the world with a comparable view. A lovely place for a relaxing couple of days. Long may it continue.

Room Tip: We like room 14 for the view but it is very small. The excellent lounge however makes up for the lac...

We have just spent 4 nights at the Airds hotel and feel we must go into print. The hotel deserves all the accolades it receives. Great position, lovely rooms but above all, outstanding food and service. The dining room looks out across the Loch and the setting just compliments the food that the maestro chef produces. Fresh local produce, bursting with freshness and flavour and presented like a masterpiece. Running a hotel is a team operation and your only as strong as your weakest link so I don't think it's fair to name particular individuals when everyone is performing at such a high standard. However, not to name Pavel would be doing him an injustice. Pavels attention to detail and anticipating guests requirements is outstanding and executed in a very unassuming manner. Well done to all and thanks for making our stay so memorable.

Room Tip: Any room, we did not face the Loch as there was a lovely garden to sit in for the view

We have just stayed at the Airds hotel for a 2 night anniversary break and can honestly say it is a fantastic place to spend your time to enjoy yourself and unwind. We stayed in the Junior Suite which we were upgraded to on arrival. This suite was immaculate and had everything we would need as well as the bed being one of the largest and most comfortable that we've had. The hotel itself offers very good relaxation if you are looking to spend some quiet, unspoiled time in very plush and relaxed surroundings with some very enjoyable public rooms complete with log fires, comfortable seating and generally just a very nice place to sit and forget about everything else going on. The standard of food at the hotel was brilliant as was the selection on the menus and although we were there for 2 nights were so disappointed that we didn't have time to stay for longer as we would have loved to work our way through the rest of the menu. On top of that I would commend the level of service we received from being greeted at the door, to the continual service we received at all points during our stay and until we had to leave. The service from all staff at all times cannot be complimented enough. Overall I would say we had an exceptional stay here and can only hope that we find time to be able to come back and visit again. I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Room Tip: We had the Junior Suite (Number 23) and can sat that this was brilliant with it's bathroom, powe...

We stayed here for 2 nights in March in a suite with lovely loch views. The wee carafe of complementary whisky/ginger wine in our room when we arrived and before dinner on the 2nd evening was very welcome and tasted wonderful. For dinner on the first night we picked from the main menu choosing scallops followed by beautifully cooked venison. We then shared a cheese course. The cheeses were well explained and unlike many expensive restaurants where the number of different cheeses you can choose is often severely restricted we were able to have a relatively generous sized portion of everything. We completed the meal with tiramisu. On the 2nd night we opted for the tasting menu with matched wines. It was a lovely experience – the lemon sole and spinach course was particularly good. Portion sizes were just right for a tasting menu too. The breakfast was delicious with lots to choose from – between us over our stay we tried and loved the muesli, yoghurt/fruit compote, porridge, omelette and fried egg/bacon/sausage and one of the best black puddings I have had. Our room was fully serviced while we were at breakfast as well. The suite had 2 TVs but be aware reception is not very good. Wifi is also advertised as being available free in the hotel but we couldn't get any reception anywhere in the hotel for the free wifi networks quoted although there did seem to be some stronger signals for ones you could pay for, particularly in our bedroom, which we didn't try. The bed was gorgeous – very comfortable. There is a garden for the hotel across a single track road and sloping down to the loch. You can get to the loch shore itself from there but while beautiful it is very stony and quite uncomfortable to walk on. There are however lots of walks available in the area and you can catch the ferry to Lismore Island from the nearby harbour which we walked to. The service was very good and everyone was very friendly and helpful. My only criticism would be that on both occasions when we went to the lounge for pre-dinner drinks we had to seek out some-one to take our drinks order, not a huge problem and maybe if we'd given it more time they would have found us.
Overall the location is superb and it is a lovely relaxing place to stay. The chef is clearly talented and the quality of the food throughout was very good.

Stayed for 3 nights (April 28th - 1st May) in a superior room.

Excellent hotel, Exceptional service, Cleanliness and quality of food. They make the best hand cut chips in Scotland. Would recommend this small cosy country house to the most discerning customer.

Again I must thank the Relias Chateaux book for recommending the Airds Hotel. We never seem to bee disappointed when we stay in quality independent luxury hotels.

Port Appin is a fabulous spot not far from Oban with gorgeous scenery just like New Zealand but on our own doorstep.

Thank you again alll the staff for a great and happy stay at the Airds!

Spent one night in this luxury hotel which was a treat from my husband for my birthday and it was a real treat! Everything was excellent from the room to the lounges to the service and the food. Enjoyed the tasting menu which was a gastronomic journey of delight and the wines were very well matched. There are some great walks from the hotel and next time we will make sure we come for longer and hire bikes as there are some great cycle paths in the area including one on the side of the loch. Highly recommended and it will be a birthday present to my husband next time!

We spent a few nights over Easter here and were not disappointed. From the moment you enter you are so well looked after and it is easy to relax and forget all about time. The staff are extremely friendly and seemed to know what you want even before you do! and the scenery is outstanding and you can just watch the changing sky all day from the comfort of the conservatory where lunch and afternoon tea is served. There was a great atmosphere in the hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed dinner on all three evenings of our stay in the candlelit restaurant.
Whilst at the hotel we enjoyed a number of walks and also took advantage of hiring bikes and going across to the island of Lismore which is only a 5 minute boat trip from the end of the pier. Lismore is such a lovely island with very few cars so ideal for cycling - you then feel as though you have earned your dinner at the end of the day as well. An impressive wine list accompanies the impressive menu and nothing disappoints at this hotel. Well done to all the lovely staff and we shall certainly be back very soon.
