Wonderful, small hotel. Quiet, elegant, excellent personal service; beautifully placed in the northwest Scottich highlands, south of Oban. Food is excellent. It is a little out ot the way (good and bad).

This lovely luxury small hotel has everything we wanted and more. As the weather was so nice, we sat in the garden overlooking the loch along with afternoon tea. The hotel is very classy, from the moment you arrive, the friendly greeting makes you feel at home and everywhere is just like a nice country house.
Our room was very comfortable with a great bathroom and most of all, a lovely view of the loch.

Dinner was a special occasion, with a fine meal beautifully presented whilst watching a glorious sunset from our table.

The Airds Hotel has so many things going for it: a friendly, well-trained staff; superb food; comfortably updated rooms; a great location in a small lochside village...the list can be extended. I spent a week here and enjoyed not only these attributes, but also day trips to nearby islands -- Lismore, Mull, and Iona. I look forward to returning.

Once great under the previous owners, now very average and expensive. Food good but not as good as before and no sign of any management around on my visit. There are so many other places now in a similar price bracket that are miles ahead and I am truly sorry to see this once great unique haven fall from grace.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us and we are sorry that it did not meet your expectations. We are obviously disappointed when we receive a review, which is different from our normal positive feedback for both the food and the service.
The previous owners actually moved on nearly 12 years ago and since then we have taken great pride to run the hotel to the same standards; indeed we have a large number of guests who were regulars both before and after the change and who continue to enjoy all that The Airds has to offer, which is most gratifying for the staff who work so hard to maintain standards.
Guests requirements are changing more rapidly than ever before and we are therefore always continuing to invest and keep up to date – as the saying goes ‘if you are not moving forward then in reality you are moving backwards’. – so, yes we have updated but hopefully all to meet the needs of today’s guest. We do appreciate however, that when there is change not everyone will like it, but we sincerely hope that the majority do.
I am sorry that you felt there was no management presence which does come as a surprise as there is virtually always either the General Manager (Graham) or Hotel Manager (Pawel) on duty together with an assistant Manager. All our managers are extremely ‘hands on’ and spend much time interacting with guests as this is a part of the job that is particularly fulfilling for them and because many guests know them so well they return year after year. I am sorry therefore, that you did not have the opportunity to meet with either Graham or Pawel during your stay with us.

You also mentioned the food and once again I am sorry it did not meet your expectations. All I can say is that we have, in the last few weeks, had our 3 Rosettes confirmed for the forthcoming year – a grading we have consistently achieved year after year as the same as under the previous owners.

For these reasons it would be extremely helpful to discuss your disappointments so that we can understand what went wrong on this occasion.

Just had our fourth trip to this hotel and it continues to deliver a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food seems to get better every year. There can be few dining rooms in the world with a comparable view. A lovely place for a relaxing couple of days. Long may it continue.

Room Tip: We like room 14 for the view but it is very small. The excellent lounge however makes up for the lac...

We have just spent 4 nights at the Airds hotel and feel we must go into print. The hotel deserves all the accolades it receives. Great position, lovely rooms but above all, outstanding food and service. The dining room looks out across the Loch and the setting just compliments the food that the maestro chef produces. Fresh local produce, bursting with freshness and flavour and presented like a masterpiece. Running a hotel is a team operation and your only as strong as your weakest link so I don't think it's fair to name particular individuals when everyone is performing at such a high standard. However, not to name Pavel would be doing him an injustice. Pavels attention to detail and anticipating guests requirements is outstanding and executed in a very unassuming manner. Well done to all and thanks for making our stay so memorable.

Room Tip: Any room, we did not face the Loch as there was a lovely garden to sit in for the view

We have just stayed at the Airds hotel for a 2 night anniversary break and can honestly say it is a fantastic place to spend your time to enjoy yourself and unwind. We stayed in the Junior Suite which we were upgraded to on arrival. This suite was immaculate and had everything we would need as well as the bed being one of the largest and most comfortable that we've had. The hotel itself offers very good relaxation if you are looking to spend some quiet, unspoiled time in very plush and relaxed surroundings with some very enjoyable public rooms complete with log fires, comfortable seating and generally just a very nice place to sit and forget about everything else going on. The standard of food at the hotel was brilliant as was the selection on the menus and although we were there for 2 nights were so disappointed that we didn't have time to stay for longer as we would have loved to work our way through the rest of the menu. On top of that I would commend the level of service we received from being greeted at the door, to the continual service we received at all points during our stay and until we had to leave. The service from all staff at all times cannot be complimented enough. Overall I would say we had an exceptional stay here and can only hope that we find time to be able to come back and visit again. I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Room Tip: We had the Junior Suite (Number 23) and can sat that this was brilliant with it's bathroom, powe...
