My husband and I have just returned from a four day break with ALFA TRAVEL at Seabank Hotel.
We had a lovely break . Room was spacious and clean , the bathroom was nice and clean in fact it looked as if the bathroom had just been freshly decorated.
We where welcomed by the manager on arrival and found the rest of the staff very helpful. Our waiter ARIK was very pleasant and helpful anything we asked for he was very obliging .
Our room was 214.
We will be visiting this hotel again, really enjoyed our stay.

If you're staying here as part of a package coach party holiday you'll probably have a wonderful time. If you're a solo traveller, forget it. My experience is one of poor service and overpriced rooms. Breakfast, when it eventually arrived, was a complete and utter shambles. There are many better and cheaper places to stay in Porthcawl.

on arriving with my 10yr old grandson ,i was given a room near the bar area and near the lift ,i refused the room so had to pay a supplement for a quieter positioned room with a sea view ,.This was on the 3rd floor ,i am disabled so on the friday i found the only lift in the hotel out of order ,it was out of order from 8am till after 4pm apparently the 2nd time in a week .THE corridor on the 3rd floor wallpaper is literally hanging off the walls .i didnt find the staff very friendly room 302 has damp patches on the ceiling .This hotel needs refurnishing .Its 1 hotel i will NOT be returning too .on 1 night the entertainer didnt arrive till after 10pm so on a 4 night stay only had entertainment 1 night it was too late to stay up till 10pm to watch entertainer .

Room Tip: avoid room 6 unless you like to be near the bar and lift which might or might not be working .

A very friendly welcome on our arrival, big spacious room with a sea view, very clean and a lovely sleep for the two nights. Would definately go back. We were right by the town a foot away from the beach what else do you need. Good breakfast every morning and staff were very friendly . Thank you for a lovely stay we will be back.

Lovely position , nice bedrooms with clean bathrooms. restaurant staff nice and helpful. Went for a few days in this hotel and found the staff very unwelcoming. When handing the key to the receptionist on more than one occasion we where totally ignored , no eye contact, no have a good day nothing. Worse was to come. We went to the bar to have a drink and while we where there they shut the bar at 9pm. wow the staff member was behind the bar stocking up but the choice was so limited it would not have taken him much time. When asked to give us another drink we where directed to another bar in a dark hall through corridors and doors. Glad to have left as I felt in the way by the staff . would not go back and would not recommend to anyone unless you wished to be ignored.

Room Tip: family rooms are big and roomy with a large bathroom.

A bit apprehensive about the mixed reviews but a lot better than I expected. Room 110 had a brand new bathroom, great views and very spacious. The new owners appear to be updating the bathrooms on an ongoing basis. The extra for a sea view was well worth it for us. The food selection was good and the evening meal maybe not 5 star but we cleared our plates every night. The staff were all very pleasant and extremely attentive and efficient. Special thanks to Imre who covered our table 39. The hotel was well up to the grading and a bit more in my opinion. Reviews more than 9 months old should probably be taken as perhaps not up to date with what is happening now.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a sea view. 110 was great with a 4 window bay plus another window.

My wife and I travelled with Alpha on an eight day holiday. We had room 312 looking south over the bay. The room was specious with 2 built in wardrobes and plenty of drawer space. The bed was very comfortable. The en-suite bathroom & shower was quite roomy but the spa bath did not work and used only as a bath. The only fault was the room was in need of refurbishing as the old type radiators definitely required a lick of paint. The toilet flush needed at least 4 flushes to clear a minimum of paper, although the resident maintenance man tried on numerous occasions to remedy this fault.
The hotel staff from reception, bars, restaurant to cleaning staff were exellent and most helpful.
Evening entertainment which was on most nights was very good although sometimes poorly attended and finished at 11.00pm as did the bar. There was a wide choice of menu which should be enough for any one. The majority of guests at Seabank were senior citizens which was reflected in the entertainment provided. We enjoyed our trips out with our coach driver Wayne who was local & very informative about the area.
