Tired, grubby, run down park, the caravan we stayed in was FILTHY and stank of cigarettes. The bed linen was dirty, with dubious stains all over the duvet, there was a thick layer of sticky dust over everything and your feet stuck to the carpet it was so dirty. The shower tray took 30 minutes to drain and the wooden steps to the caravan were, frankly dangerous, particularly when wet, which it was when we arrived. The food is over-priced and not alot to choose from, unless you like chips with everything. The arcades were terrible, half the machines were broken and the staff completely disinterested. The pool was OK, but there is only one biggish slide, the rest is all geared very much towards very young children. All in all, the worst place I have ever stayed - we were booked for 3 nights but checked out after 1 - and I would NEVER stay here or in any other Parkdean park again!

Ill start with the good. The park is nice and clean. On arrival we were upgraded to a luxury caravan which was a lovely size (4 adults and a child) and was immaculately clean. No complaints there. It also had an iron and ironing board and all kitchen equipment which was also lovely and clean. The park is situated right by a lovely sandy beach (unfortunately we had rainy weather so didnt get to use it).

Now the bad - the park gives you free entertainment passes which I assumed meant you could use all the facilities. When i have been to caravan parks in the pass there is usually a charge for entertainment passes but you can the use them for swimming and everything else. Not here. The pass only got you into the club house but you had to pay for swimming, soft play, golf, bowling, everything. The bowling is not even proper bowling, the balls, skittles and lanes are much smaller and get this - they TIME your game! So even if you're not finished when the times up, its up and for this they charge £2 PER PERSON!

The entertainment in the club was atrocious - they have the characters on stage for a bit then its just a dire singer or band. Really not fun for kids. They had bingo and karaoke and stuff that would have been more fun but these take place in the clubs that are for over 14's, and one thats only for adults. They also had a comedian in the kids club house one night telling really inappropriate jokes, some sexual. I had to take my 5 year old back to the caravan.

The food on the park is absolute crap, we had the chinese one night and couldnt eat it it was disgusting, and im not a fussy eater at all. Other than that its all burgers, fish and chips and other greasy horrible stuff. The local area leaves a lot to be desired, we went into town which was really depressing and also visited Barry Island which was pretty non descript.

All in all I would definitely not recommend this place. It would have been better if the evening entertainment was drastically improved, and if there werent so money grabbing making you pay for every little thing.

very concerned about this break but we have been pleasantly surprised so far. the bars and show dome are just like butlins but cleaner and not quite so full,so always a seat . the quality of the acts we've seen are excellent. prices for drinks are pretty steep which is a shame as there are three pubs just outside charging a lot less for the same drinks. spotlessly clean and no chavs in sight we will return

We have been here before, it's a great place for kids (2 & 4). We spent the weekend here, the caravan was clean and modern. There's plenty for children to do if it rains... which it did! Pools good and clean. I even witnessed a member of staff using a "gum buster" to remove chewing gum from the pavement! Entertainment on the Saturday evening was great (Beard Smith) great band. All in all I'd recommend this holiday park, I'll be staying again next year no doubt.

This is a very large site; we had trouble finding our caravan on the first night, after spending a couple of hours watching the England:Moldova match in the Club Room, but we managed it. The restaurants had stopped serving by the time we left, so we went to the onsite chippy (there's a pizza place too). There was a very long queue, but the young girl sorted out those wanting fish out from the rest, and the fish weren't long coming. When we eventually found our caravan, the cod, chips and mushy peas were to die for. The young lady in the chippy is a credit to the camp.

We didn't use any of the other camp facilities, as we were only there 3 nights and just staying for a touring holiday really, but from the outside in they looked good.

Our caravan was fine, although the steel steps leading into it can be slippery in wet weather, so watch out. We were far enough from the entertainment centre, so quite peaceful at night.
One slight negative: our shower basin drained very slowly. This was no real problem, as there were only the 2 of us, but it would have been a different story if there'd been 6 of us in this 3 bedroom caravan.
There was no point complaining for our sakes, but I did mention it to the young lady when I checked out. She made no note of it and just put the keys onto a large pile. There's IMO really no chance this small fault was put right for the next guests.
