“Great break away!”
Reviewed 11 October 2013

Just got back from an excellent Mon-Fri break at Pendine Sands. Stayed in a Crychan caravan just up the hill from The Sands. Our stay was brilliant and can't really fault the complex at all. Check in was nice and quick, only fault there was that reception failed to inform us that our caravan didn't have a parking space next to the caravan which we found out after driving down the very narrow lane at the back of the caravans. Unfortunatley if you are staying in the end caravan you need to park in a separate car park behind the lane, so after the kind lady in the caravan next to us showed us the car park and doing a very narrow three point turn, we parked up. Entering the caravan we were pleasantly surprised, smelt clean, looked clean. Only bit of dirt was some mildew on the window sills, ok considering they're metal framed windows. Overall cleanliness was great. Few items missing from kitchen cupboards but we either didn't need them or we had bought our own. Really good shower, comfy sitting area and comfy beds. Only downside...heating was bad! Fire in lounge was next to useless. Wouldn't normally mind but October nights were a tad chilly!!
Other bad point was absolutely no Internet signal or Wifi. Manage to get Parkdean wifi down at clubhouse but it was hit and miss and only appeared on last night.
Now for the major, major plus point of the complex...the AMAZING troupers and entertainment. They were brilliant! Five hard working, talented indivividuals. Sean, Carey, Emma, Kayleigh and Mike. They were so much fun and considering it was a very quiet week when we were there, still gave 100%. After being there one night, they remembered us and said hello as they went past. There was a good range of entertainment each night and The Sands was a really nice venue, really clean and good choice at the bar.
We would definatley go again as the accomodation was good value, site was in a prime position for exploring the local area and complex had all we needed to keep us entertained.

We stayed here at the end of August. We were very lucky to have the last of the hot weather which I think actually made this holiday alot better as we spent most of it on the beach. By far the best attraction. We stayed in a pembrey caravan which on arrival was very clean and cosy. Actually quiet spacious for a family of 4. We were right by the clubhouse which was great as not too far to walk. As we stayed when the children went bk to school the club house was busy but not overcrowded which was great. Food in the club house was nice. Few chip shops which are nice, and an Indian takeaway which is lovely. Great parks for the children and folly farm is about a 20 min drive away which I would say is a must see. Entertainment was great every night. Only downside is pool is a liittle small and there is an army base near by which at certain times block off half the beAch. Have to say was a really good holiday but I think with any holiday, having the weather is a must in Britain . Would 100% go back

Stayed for a Mon-Friday break here the first week in August. Two adults, two teenagers and a 8yr old. We found the caravan to be clean and comfortable, it was situated right up the reception end of the site so nice and quiet with decent views in lovely green surroundings.
We tried out pretty much all the eating places that were within walking distance, found Parry's to be decent and good value and the restaurant furthest along the cove to be worse.
Only went in the complex once and it was full to the brim, no spare tables, long queues for the bar and kids running everywhere, we left it again within minutes and never went back.
Decent enough location, Tenby is great, folly farm is also a good day out. We would go back to Pendine sands (would book direct this time and not through Hoseasons) if the price was right.

Room Tip: You get what you pay for with caravans, the cheep ones are exactly that so worth paying for a decent...

We booked a Pembrey caravan and were allocated 145 in the Windsor area (just up the slope from the clubhouse), very good location. Great size for the two of us as we used the twin room (suitable for 2 small children) to store all our bags! It looked a 1990s model caravan, but as we had read the reviews we took something to soften the mattress and our own bedding. We also took a couple of throws for the soft seating area (which were also back up in case it was really cold). We should have taken a shower mat, so will do so next year. Well equipped and the TV and DVD player were a bonus during the downpours :0)

We stayed here for a short break with family. The site is huge. You need a car to get from one end to the other if you have small children.

We were pleasantly surprised with our accommodation. It was larger than we expected with central heating. It was clean and looked newish!

The entertainment complex is very tired looking and not large enough to cope with demand during high season. The swimming pool is also small. The viewing area is limited. The entertainment staff were great. They work so hard and derserve a medal!

We ate in the sands bar a couple of times for convenience. The staff were ok and the food wasn't the best.

Be aware there is MOD site opposite and on our final day we were subjected to gun fire as its a training site. This isn't mentioned on parkdeans website!

We booked this holiday7 through the Sun deal and we weren't disappointed, as my wife and daughter are both disabled we asked for a van near to the club an we were place aboput 100 mts away and after settling in to our excellent acco0modation we decided to check out the club and the entertainment. Boy , what a show the site entertainers put on for us there was 5 of them and they really worked very hard at what what they put on the whole group of them could all sing , dance tell jokes and generally gel with all the folks in the club room. and this was the pattern for every night.these kids are a definite credit to the site and also to Parkdean they "CARED " ABOUT PEOPLE FROM DAY 1 and the shows were varied every night agin a plus for on site entertainers especially these ones
the only downside to our stay was the fact that the swimming pool had a disabled toilet but the only way any disabled person could access the pool was to climb the stairs fro0m the fire exit or to descend the stairs from the club entrance. The only thing aboput the pool was that it is way way too small; too shallow and inaccessible for people that are sited at the other end of Pendine to cater for the numbers of people that use this site during a season.
Might I suggest that during the closed season that Parkdean extend the pool into the vacant area where folk go to have a smoke this would mean re-siting the kids small play area and asking customers who wish to smoke to go outside the front entrance to the club.
As for the overall size of the site there is a definite case for installing another pool at the far end of the site towards Laugharne so that all park users can be catered for.
All in all this site far exceeded my expectations having been to Parkdean's competitors overs the last 12 years in various parts of the country, this is one of the best I have ever visited. the site is beautiffuly kept and all the staff show the same amount of "care", I would beggar the question ? why would a member of the entertainment staff ask about a small problem that I had with a caravan but he did and it showed that he "CARED " how many holiday companies employ people with that sort of committment to its clients , but believe me Parkdean at Pendine does and they do. Parkdean it is in your own best interests as a holiday compny to keep the type of people from the gardeners upwards to the site managers as this is your company's finest asset. I will look forward to taking a holiday with Parkdean again at this site
