Parkdean - Pendine Sands Holiday Park
Reviewed 4 June 2014

We stayed in a very well presented, comfortable two bedroom plus a full size bathroom etc. This caravan is a private one and excellant.
Now about the Parkdean Pendine Sands which we would say is presented to a high standard throughout the complex. The caravan park areas and well looked after and clean. Roads that service the park do have a lot of sleeping policemen some are very high but this does make for speed reduction and kiddie safety.
They have an entertainment centre called The Sands which is small but adequate for the size of the park. This is not our first visit the the park but the reason I'm writing this is my wife and I feel that the park troupers need a big mention. the Sands entertainers are mainly for the children plus adults on a Sunday evening very excellant.
We had our granddaughter Charlotte with us and they were brilliant with her and all the other children. I could name them but that would be unfair except that over the years they have always been very good but this crew are a bit exceptional.
Now to finish I must also compliment the bar staff who for some reason or other reflected the same high standard as the troupers.
We were there over 30th May to 2nd June and the adult entertainment was so good over that weekend I have no problem in recommending Parkdeans Pendine Sand site to anyone.
To finish Pendine village is small but with good weather the long sandy beach is up there with the best.
The village has good cafes, along with some small shops and a brilliant pub/restrauant The Springwell. Food yes again excellant and staff friendly keep it up Paul, Helen and of course Sue.
Hopefully see you all again this summer.

Regards

BA, Fletch & of course Charlotte.

Stayed most of this week in Parkdean's Pendine Sands Holiday Park in South Wales with wife, 3 grownup sons, daughter-in-law and 2 grandaughters, 8 and 4. Quite a squeeze in the caravan but,as it said on the wrapper, it could sleep 8 if required - very impressed with pull out bed in lounge!
Great place to centre a touring holiday on, great place for children who can be well entertained by park staff in the Entertainment complex for many hours during the day and early evening, good selection of meals and drinks also available with usual facilities of a large site - pool, laundry shops etc. The village is blessed with quite a few facilities because of the Park and although the prices are a little higher than normal high street, they are certainly convenience stores.
Evening entertainment for adults and children very good indeed with the obligatory Park bingo having some full huse prize money in excess of £200 - makes for a concentrating time for about 15mins!
Use a search engine to explore - thoroughly recommended Park.

The park covers a vast area and all you can see is row upon row of caravans. I can't comment on Parkdean caravans as the one we stayed in was private. The grounds are quite well maintained with proper paths and lighting. The club house is a good size with a good amusement arcade for older children. The pool however, is very small and the water was cold. Young children are well caterered for with the kids club which seemed to be going down well. The food in the clubhouse is typical prepared off site frozen fare and not that inspiring. We had the Sunday carvery which was cold and tasteless and quite frankly was awful.

If you like chips you will love Pendine's eateries! It is difficult to find anything that is not a greasy spoon which is a shame. There are numerous chip shops, cafe's and an Indian take away. Very little available in the way of fresh seafood which is unusual given the location. We tried the Indian on our last night and ended up throwing it away as it was so bland.

The beach runs for miles but there was a lot of rubbish and jellyfish on the high tide mark. If you want quaint and cultered with good restaurants then avoid Pendine at all costs. There is also hardly any mobile phone signal in the area. To use your phone or to access the internet you will need to sit in the clubhouse where there is free wi fi.

Recently returned from family holiday here. Was a lovely site, caravan was nice only down side was 13.5 tog duvets (far to warm for small children) and scissors that weren't even sharp enough to cut paper.
The children's day entertainment was brilliant and staff doing it were very friendly. The children's evening entertainment was good to but could have done with starting a little earlier so the younger ones could enjoy it with out being tired.
Ate an evening meal and a breakfast at the sands restaurant, compared to Witherspoon's style food but was adequate and OK value for money.
Used both play parks which were nice my son enjoyed them, tried the duck inn to which was nice too.
Overall its a good park for a family holiday, for a quiet break or couples holiday it may not be the place to go.

Room Tip: Go for the best you can afford, we stayed in a Carmarthen caravan. Great size especially with childr...

Just returned from a four night Sun holiday at Pendine Sands. The two bedroomed caravan was basic but very clean and everything worked. Size wise, it was fine for the two of us and possibly it would be ok for up to four people. The park was quiet and well kept.

Pendine is a pretty village, with several shops, pubs and restaurants. We eat at the Spring Well Inn – food good with wonderful views across the bay.

Would visit this holiday park again.

Stayed here with family on cheap break. Took dog and so the walks on the beach were fantastic. Caravan was very basic and cold. Would not stay in same caravan again. However was told about £100 for upgrade. Lovely area around the site. Swimming pool was cold but the site had only just opened. Great for a base to explore.

We've been here over and over again and it never fails to impress me. I find Parkdean facilities a cut above the other big names - clean caravans, bed linen fully made up and they can't do enough for you. This particular location is wonderful but I'd recommend asking to be in an area of the park away from Dukes Meadow as that's the furthest from the beach so harder work with children. Nice pool, can always get a seat at evening entertainment and lovely beach cafe. Would strongly recommend for anyone who enjoys a nice caravan hol.
