My family and I decided to have an evening meal at this establishment last week. The interior is quite shabby and when we tried to order from the Menu, we were told that due to a change in Management, some items were not available and frankly prices were quite high for Pub Meal. When we did get our meals, they were poorly presented, small portions and the taste I can only describe as 'Industrial'. Certainly would give this place a wide berth next time !

6 of booked in order to cycle around the local hills and valleys. The breakfast was good. On the basis of that we tried the evening meal which was functional but not great. The public bar of the hotel was packed with good natured locals and it was a healthy atmosphere. We relaxed in the adequate guest room on the first floor, an all our rooms were good.

The staff in particular were very helpful, especially with regards looking after the bikes. On our last day the manager suggested we could return from cycling and still use the showers.

The hotel maybe slighly old fashioned but immacately clean, loads of lovely clean towels and comfy beds. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts excellent.

Location: right in the center of town on the high street and the personnel were friendly. The family room was large enough to accommodate us.

The room: needs desperate refurbishement. It was clean, but the window frame was broken so that we could not completely close it, so we "enjoyed" the nightlife that was going on at the rear of the hotel. For the hotel's defense, they did try to accommodate us by booking us in another hotel but it eventually did not work... The bathroom was flimsy, rods falling parts, shower providing either cold or very hot water.

Cleanliness: arriving at breakfast, ready to have some juice, we could tell on the glasses what color the lipstick was that was left from the previous drinker! The juice itself was definitely not fresh.

Overall: way too expensive for what it was, and definitely not worth three stars. Good for people who enjoy pub atmosphere and who are not planning on staying too long.

Shower temperature didn't work in our room. Lavatory seat was broken, as well as the telephone in the room and the window. For breakfast, we had supposedly clean glasses with stains of lipstick on .... The hotel seems very popular as a local pub, meaning that the smell of beer in the lobby and the level of noise up to very late in the evening is quite remarkable.
I won't go back there.
