We discovered this restaurant by accident. We often stay in the area and had gone to our normal venue to find that they had stopped serving food. Then we found Plas- yn-Dre - Lynn, the waitress, was so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. A fantastic meal. We will certainly be going back next time we are in Bala.

Happened across this Pub whilst out on a Motorbike trip with a few friends yesterday afternoon... Sometimes we find that Pubs can stigmatise you if you turn up wearing Biking gear but I can't speak highly enough of this place.
We were welcomed by the host and (I assume his other half) and offered menus and advice on their beers which we had to sample as were rather parched after our earlier adventures.
What a result... Bloomin superb, well kept, beers all round - so after that was sorted we ventured to try the menu which was offered with a good and varied choice of "Pub" type food but using local produce where possible.... We opted for the Steak and Purple Moose ale pies which were served beautifully presented and cooked to a very very good standard....
Being very "picky" the meat pie mix was a little bit over salted but we were assured this is not normally the case and the hosts did offer to rectify this in fairness...... but was the only very minor matter...the rest of it (pastry/ chips/ veg etc all great)........ Otherwise I can thoroughly recommend this Pub / Restaurant all round and would give it a resounding 9 out of 10.
Will be intending calling back in due course and hopefully go for the full 10 if they manage to sort the other small matter of the misspelt sign on the front of the Pub!!!... German for "Welcome anyone?!?" Told you I was picky! ha ha.
But thank you to the hosts and hopefully see you again soon.
Thank you.

We visited this restaurant the week before Easter with our daughter and dog. What a lovely family run place this is. Made to feel so welcome, our dog also had a huge fuss made of him and was allowed to join us in the restaurant, a first for us!
The bar area was very cosy and we enjoyed the chats with the owners very much.
The restaurant is huge, they are in the process of making it more 'gastro' which would add a bit of 'warmth' to the room. However, we loved it.
Our meal was delicious and the meat came from the local award winning butcher. Service was excellent too.
Thankyou for a great meal, our only regret was that we didn't get chance to go back. Next time!

We went there while staying in Bala for couple of nights. The food was delicious, well presented and reasonably priced. Service was second to none. Highly recommended. Would definitely come back!

We visited twice during our holiday and the food was great both times. The lamb bourguignon was amazing. The kids ate all there dinner and loved the mash potato. Lynn was very helpful and showed my son where they kept a stack of books which included a Star Wars annual which meant that a normally restless 7 year old was well behaved and we could relax and enjoy our dinner. I'd really recommend the restaurant as the staff are outstanding and the food is fantastic.
