We did 5 days here the park is so well maintained, we stayed in a buttercup 4, we had a hot tub which was amazing and has made us think about buying one, the park is clean the lodge was clean and short of nothing we had a big library of DVD,s to keep us occupied when it rained one day, the park is in an ideal location for travelling around it is about 1 hour drive from anywhere with beautiful countryside the staff are really nice and helpful, we will definitely be returning

Only just checked out and already can not wait to return to this wonderful place.
Check process was easy with lovely lady on reception, who even came outside to direct us to our lodge. Had some difficulties with the TV but Lliwen soon helped us sort this, lovely and friendly lady.
Stayed in No 64, Floxglove Platinum and it was perfect. Well equipped, really clean and spacious.
Hot tub was ready for use on the 1st night and the temperature was just right.
Drove to Barmouth on Saturday as only about a 40 minute drive then back to the lodge after lunch for more hot tub chill time.
Woke up to loads of snow on the Sunday morning, this just made our stay all the more enjoyable. Great facilities, play park looked fab we just couldn't make use of it due to the snow.

Thank you so much all staff at Pen Y Garth x

Our 1st but not last visit to this well maintained lodge park, we stayed in a Foxglove platinum lodge which was ideal for us.
Check in process was stress free with brilliant friendly and helpful staff and likes lits of other guests made a lot of use of the hottub even though there was 6 to 8 inches of snow when we woke on Sunday morning.
Thank you and we look forward to returning soon.

Thank you for your kind comments, we weren't expecting as much snow to fall here over the weekend to be honest but I'm glad you were still able to use the hot tub - very brave!

Please feel free to call us directly if you would like to make another booking :)

Lodge:

The Lodge itself was cleaned to a Good standard, but was in need of a revamp random bits of damage from last travellers that could of easily been fixed but ignored. The lodge was close to reception meaning it was quite busy with people coming in and out of the park and checking in and out which wasn't the best, but that is the luck of the draw.

Hot Tub:

Average again, the Hot Tub was warm and ready when arrived but did have odd bits of leaves and a few dead bugs floating around which wasnt the best. Over the 4 day stay no one seemed to visit the Hot Tub and we was in most of the day, and it never got cleaner. Past Hot Tub parks we have been to were checked and cleaned every day.

The location of the Hot Tub was on the front of our lodge meaning that 5 lodges could see our Hot Tub and felt like our privacy was being encroached which wasn't nice, especially when getting in and out.

Park:

Good, was very nice kept clean and well looked after. Lighting very good during darker hours,

Staff/Security Deposit:

Most staff were friendly, reception staff seemed quite flustered and wanted to get you in and out as quick as possible and seemed to be fed up of saying the same script over and over. We got minimal information about a security deposit when arriving. We got told that they would take a swipe of our card and if damage is done over the stay they can take £100 out of our account. We saw the next day that this had been frozen in our account which was unexpected, but we understood why. Upon checking out we explained our situation that it was the end of the pay month and we was low on cash and polity asked when this £100 will be released back to us. They advised that once they check the lodge they will release the funds back into my account, but may take 7 days.

I asked if it would be possible for them to check it on the day while we was still around so we could have our funds back, we just got the response "No". Which was upsetting as i though it would be back in the day we left, not 7 days after checking out.

Conclusion,

The park itself and the surrounding area was nice, but anything that required involved off the staff on site seemed to make it a worse experience hence my fair score of "Average"

Room Tip: Near reception is really busy with people

Dear Ryan,

Thank you for your comments, we take all feedback very seriously. I'm disappointed that you felt you didn't get the best service at check in as customer service is something that we take a lot of pride in at Pen Y Garth. I will address the reception staff that more time, detail and information needs to be explained to our guests when checking in especially about the security deposit. As standard the card company that we deal with automatically releases the security deposit within 7 days and even if the lodge is checked first and no damages have occurred it still could take this amount of time for the money to be released back into the account as it work automatically and not done by the office staff.

Please rest assured that these issues will be addressed.

If you would like to discuss this in more detail, please feel free to call me directly on the below number.

Arrived at 5:30pm and reception was closed but on call lodge keeper was only too happy to help. Beyond lovely. Comfort, warm and so clean. Everyone made us so welcome. Hot tubs are maintained daily and ready for use when we arrived. Quite and relaxing surroundings. This was our 2nd visit and will definitely be back.
