Friendly and very accomodating host. Lots of parking available. Only gripe was my room was on the road, so slightly noisy, but I am lucky enough to live away from traffic, but if you are a very light sleeper, ask for the room upstairs. Overall a great location, and the breakfast was the best I think I have every had at a B&B.. Will be back!

Excellent choice of B & B for a long w'end of biking and mountain walking. Superb location for both pursuits. Although Bala itself is probably less outdoor pursuits orientated than other nearby towns it offers excellent opportunities for both cycling and walking over lesser known but spectacular and little visited ranges (Berwyns, Aran Ridge, Arenig Fawr, Bwlch y Groes).
The B & B itself was excellent: immaculate, well appointed room; superb breakfast with excellent choice (try the haddock!); luxurious bathrooms, and attentive and considerate hosts. Couldn't have wished for better accommodation.
Many thanks .

Returned for our second visit this year to Bala over the August bank holiday to do some hill walking and for my partner to take part in a cycling challenge event. Our first choice of accommodation was the Monfa.
It was lovely to be welcomed by Ron and Helen again; the energy and enthusiam they put in to making their guests stay the most enjoyable possible is so refreshing.
When out on the hills, it is nice to think that you are returning to clean and comfortable accommodation; a hot powerful shower; fresh milk to make your tea and home made cake (my thoughts have a tendency to drift to this more so if it is pouring with rain at the time!).
Breakfasts are plentiful, there is loads of choice of cereals; porridge, breads, yogurts, fruit along with the usual fruit juice, teas/ ground coffee. Cooked breakfasts are freshly prepared, using good quality ingredients and delicious!
We love to use the lounge and watch the t.v. in the evening, a great way to relax. We even took advantage of the kind offer by Helen and Ron to bring back a take away to eat there- they provide cutlery and trays to eat the food off; once finished any food packaging can be left in the dining room downstairs and is 'magically' cleared away for you- how good is that!
We find the cost very reasonable, and excellent for what you get. Another couple staying at the Monfa had friends staying in other b&bs in Bala, which were considerably more expensive.
There is nothing I can find to fault and everything to praise!
Well done Helen and Ron and thank you again.

We stayed in a very clean and well furnished room. The breakfast was perfect. This was all matched by very welcoming and friendly hosts. I'm not sure what could be done, if anything, to improve. Many thanks.

First of all there was parking on the road outside Monfa, or you could use their car park if you preferred. Check in was smooth and we were given fresh milk for our tea and coffee in the room. The bedroom was spotless with dressing gowns and plenty of towels. The bathrooms were upstairs with more towels and shampoo etc if you wished to use them. When we returned from being out for a meal, the room was lovely and warm and a sound night's sleep was had on the comfortable mattress. Breakfast the following morning was one of the best cooked breakfast we have ever been presented with whilst on holiday. The service was most certainly the best. This is an excellent find and an ideal place to use as a base if you are walking in the area. I would most certainly visit Bala again, if only to stay here.

Stayed here for two nights. Arriving late on a bus Helen informed us where we could get food.

We had the twin room on the ground floor. Room was spacious and very clean. Only thing was room was not en-suite and bathroom was upstairs. However congestion was not a problem as there are two bathrooms next to each other.

Breakfast very goodn with a choice of either smoked fish or a cooked breakfast with decent quality meat from the butchers. Rate was also very reasonable. Wifi available, just ask for passcode.

The rooms and bathrooms are extremely clean with good facilities. The shower was powerful. The hosts Ron and Helen are very friendly and attentive. Though it was not very cold in May, the heating was on till mid-night to keep the whole house warm. Every piece of the food, including the tea biscuits in the room, is at very top quality. The experience at Monfa was more like staying at a friend's home but not a B&B. I think it was the best B&B that I have stayed in over the past few years.
