Had a lovely night away planned with partner without the children. We were white water rafting so had planned to have a nice meal in the restaurant and an early - ish night to be up early the next day. The four poster room is lovely, bed very comfortable, but that is where it all ends. Food was crap. Chicken fajitas came with 4 small pieces of chicken with two giant tortilla wraps, didnt bring any chips with it, Half a rack of ribs was 4 small ribs with chips. Don't eat here it's really below standard of any pub grub. Having really young children, I was looking forward to a restful nights sleep - HOW wrong was I!!! At 11pm, the restaurant across the road had a live rock band on, which started to play so loud I was singing along to what they playing until 01.30. When this had finished, everyone poured onto the streets shouting and arguing until 3.30am. It was the worse nights sleep ever. To top it off, as I couldn't sleep I tried to put the television on, which didn't work!! Would not reccommend this hotel to anyone who is a light sleeper - you will not sleep! Breakfast was also below average. Self service full English, but hadn't cooked any eggs so you had to have without. Just not a good stay to be honest which is really disappointing as I am quite easily pleased!! 95 quid for the room also is way too much for the value and service you get! Needless to say, we will not be coming back here!
