Beautiful setting, and very relaxing place to stay! We went as a group of four and thoroughly enjoyed it....
The accommodation itself was in perfect condition, clean, fresh, and fully kitted out for us to enjoy a self catering holiday. The jaccuzi was absolutely amazing! All your troubles will float away in the bubbles
Lake Bala was nearby, we did some kayaking which was great fun! We went to Dolgellau and walked the Waterfalls and Goldmines Trail at Coed y Brenin. They were both close by so was very easy and relaxing to get around. Great local alchahol shop called Stori on the high street in Bala where we got some great local whiskeys and beers. We had food at the Plas yn Dre on the high street wich is a great pub! Highly reccomend the Cowl. We also went to a nice ice cream shop on the high street nearer to the petrol station. I forget the name now.
Overall great experience 100% recommend if you want a nice relaxing weekend!
Just got back from staying here. Lovely setting overlooking Snowdon, especially when your sitting in the hot tub!
The cabin is extremely clean, with linen and towels. Nice little touches, with a bottle of wine and chocolates when arriving. The cabin is fully equipped with cooking facilities.
Location is great for walking around Bala Lake, only an hours drive if you wish to climb Snowden.
Would recommend this place, can't wait to book again for next year!
Merrimoles is situated overlooking stunning views of Bala. The lodge itself is of high standard, making our stay very comfortable. The hot tub was an added bonus that made our stay even more enjoyable. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing setting and the accessibility to lots of places, making our first family holiday to Wales a trip to remember.
5 of us stayed 4 nights in early March. The lodge was very comfortable, well equipped, and in a decent location to explore Snowdonia. The hot tub comfortably fit 5 people and kept its temperature well in the cold and rain. The dining and kitchen area of the lodge is great and very social with plenty of space. The twin bedrooms are fairly small but they were fine and the beds were very comfortable. The lodge itself was spotless and kept warm.
I would point out that the lodge is located in a lodge park with many other lodges nearby so was less private than first expected though it was a quiet time of the year and the lodge is on the edge of the park. From the hot tub we were in view of the lodge next door (where they also have a hot tub) and another lodge a little further away.
With regards to activities, Snowdonia is of course a breathtaking area with plenty of hiking trails. Mount Snowdon was an hour away by car and was a scenic drive and difficult climb (in Winter conditions) and I'd also recommend the 'go below underground adventure' which was about 30 minutes away at Conwy Falls if you're looking for a 'go ape' style experience in an abandoned slate mine. Bala is a 5-10 minute drive away where you can find a decently sized co-op which had everything we needed with a free car park.
Overall we had a great stay, thank you Katy!
