It's a small hotel with comfortable rooms which have been recently refurbished.
Rooms are of good size, clean and quiet (but you'll hear the bell of the church at 7 am).
The mattress is of good quality.
An ipad will fit in the safe. No air conditioning, but the room was cool in mid summer.
There is a garden with sun loungers and a private parking.
The restaurant has excellent food, best choice are the set menus. The service is very good and you can have dinner on the terrace. Breakfast offers a good choice and includes freshly pressed orange juice.
Location is at the countryside and only 20 min. from Mont Saint Michel.

Negative points: Carpet on the floor, but clean. Bathrooms have not been refurbished, but are ok.

We wanted to visit Mont St Michel and this hotel's location suited us perfectly. Away from the crowds and in a peaceful, well-kept village completely surrounded by the Normandy countryside. The hotel is situated on the main road through the village, next to the church. Initial impressions of the outside of the property are good and inside we were not disappointed. The hotel is beautifully decorated and furnished throughout. There is a small parking area for guests at the back of the hotel. We were shown to our room by a friendly young lady who spoke some English.

The young lady showed us to our first floor room which had double doors with Juliet balcony and looked out over the garden and the dining room. Had the weather been better it would have been nice to have been able to sit in it. There was an en suite bathroom and separate toilet - neither the room or en suite were large, but they were clean and adequate for our two night stay. The wifi connection here was excellent.

We had dinner in the hotel on both nights of our stay and the food was absolutely superb, as was the presentation and service. The reasonably-priced breakfast is also to be recommended with some hot dishes (included in the price) being offered in addition to the standard fare (fresh fruit salad, croissants, fresh orange juice, etc). My husband ordered the scrambled eggs which were served perfectly cooked with two thin slices of bacon. Delicious!

The only cause for concern for visitors may be the continuous chiming of the adjacent church clock - every 15 minutes during the day. Don't worry - it is turned off at night, though it starts up again at 7.00 a.m.

Madame Pignot speaks very good English and is very obliging.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and if we are in the area in the future we will stay again. It will be worth going back just for the food.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the garden are quiet and pleasant.

Everything about this hotel and restaurant were excellent. The welcome was good the rooms clean and well decorated and the wifi signal strong! I ate from the fixed menu and had very well presented tasty fresh food. Service was good. Breakfast was tasty. Difficult to find fault!
Will certainly return when next in the region.

We have stayed at this hotel three times now and it is always a very pleasing experience. The rooms are tastefully furnished though the bathrooms are a bit small. There is always a warm welcome from Ailine the Proprietor. The restaurant is first class with an interesting and imaginative menu. Breakfast is lovely with plenty of bread croissant and home made preserves. There is also fruit cereal, yogurt and ham and cheese to choose from.Hot breakfast is available if you want it.
The hotel is well placed for visiting Mont St Michel and the nearby coastline. This hotel is definitely one of our favourites!

Room Tip: Try for a room that looks over the garden

We spent the night at the Gue du Holme on our way to Mont Saint Michel. It's in a small town about 20 minutes from the Mont, so a great location to stay away from the crowds but close enough to get an early start on a place that gets very crowded later in the day. Very nice innkeeper greets you when you arrive, signs you in, shows you to your room, then appears to take your order in the restaurant later, then checks you out the next day -- busy lady! The room itself is clean, basic. I suspect ours was a handicap access room due to the bathroom having some oddities, such as a higher than normal toilet, a shower chair, and a peculiar wall-hanging cabinet. I had asked for a standing shower (many hotels in Europe only offering the hand-held kind), and it was essentially a corner of the bathroom with a very narrow shower curtain around it and a drain the floor. When you shower, the curtain waves around wetly and tends to stick to you -- yuk! The most outstanding thing about the Gue du Holme is the restaurant. After a long day of driving, it was lovely to be able to check in to the hotel, make a reservation for later, then stroll to dinner. And dinner was outstanding! One of the best we had on our entire trip -- great food and great service. Somewhat pricey, but really a fine dining experience.

On arrival The Proprietor Aline made us feel welcome and valued, cutting a phone call short in order to attend to us. The room was clean, bright and had a view over the quiet garden. The restaurant was fantastic. Together with my partner we were celebrating my 60th birthday. Again Aline gave us her personal attention and her husband, Dany, the chef cooked a superb meal. This was a memorable occasion. Breakfast was also exemplary and came with a complimentary present of a bottle of Normandy Cider - how thoughtful! The whole experience was Super Bon! Super Bien! Thank you Aline and Dany we will return for a longer stay in your excellent Hotel. À bientôt.

Room Tip: Choose a garden room if you like peace and quiet.

Ideal for couples & families. Very quiet and peaceful hotel with nice garden. The hotel is very clean and staff very welcoming. Breakfast costs 11€ and was good with omelette, bacon, bread, butter, croissant & pain au chocolat, fruits, yogurt, muesli, ham, fresh orange juice and coffee/tea.

The restaurant is really nice with fine cuisine.

You can also go to eat in the nearby city "Avranches" which has a couple of good restaurants like "Le littré"
