“Lovely Boutique Hotel in middle of Pueblo Blanco”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

It was a lovely stay at this hotel. The owner is a lovely woman who goes out of her was to make you feel comfortable and happy. The rooms are all first class with first calls fittings, up to date and clean. The Hotel has lovely views on the back side over the fields. I really enjoyed my room on the ground floor to the back. You can walk to all the bars and shops easily. The town can get a little loud at night as teenagers seem to love to drive around with high speed....so watch out. Jimena is a lovely place to go from bar to bar to try all the tapas...just if that is what you like. We enjoyed our walk around the village by the river and the castle very much. There is great beauty there to be found and great little places to sit by the river.

Room Tip: The back site of the hotel looks over the fields and is quieter then the front rooms I suspect.

This hotel looks like an ordinary terraced house from the outside, but on walking through the front door, one cannot help gasping. It is huge and built in the traditional style around an internal patio. Each room is large and comfortable and decorated with flair giving the place an Ir of faded elegance. We had a huge terrace overlooking the village which was lovely to sit in the evening, but there is also a bar and outside patio in the basement and a roof garden. Our hostess made us ham, cheese and tomato on toast for breakfast. Good value.

What a cool Casa. Absolutely charming, eclectic, different, relaxing. Years ago it was the home of a Doctor and the rooms cover two floors with reception on the ground floor and bar and meals on the floor underneath but as the Casa is sits into the wall, even these have views out into the countryside. A great base for walking which is what we were here for. Walking around Jimena was brilliant and a huge variety of walks out of at least half a dozen villages all within 30 mins. Rooms were large and well equipped. I assume the lift doesn't work as it was never offered so if you have brought a lot of luggage - the top rooms aren't for you. Don't worry about reading material. Melissa has accumulated every book you can imagine in a multitude of languages and they are happily strewn about in the many reading areas.

Wifi only works in reception which is a but of a pain, but it's large with overstuffed sofas and several areas to sit. You can sit there with a glass of wine or a coffee and catch up with your correspondence easily. Always seemed to be able to get a car park with 30m of hotel with the handbrake well on!

Breakfast is a simple toast affair, with coffee and great fresh orange juice. Bar attendance is a bit hit and miss but that was probably because it was early in the season and not enough business to require both reception and breakfast/bar staff all day.

Melissa and Geraldine were very helpful with any questions, great English and they organised horse riding for me with Los Lobos which was light and enjoyable.

All in all a place that we will never forget as so different from anywhere else!

Room Tip: We asked for a room at the back away from the entrance street. Stunning views out to the countrysid...

A beautiful old building with matching decorations and furniture. Rooms are spacious and well equipped, the ones at the back preferable because of the superb views up to the mountains.A basic tapas lunch is available in the basement bar where breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice is provided. Melissa the host could not be more welcoming and helpful. In all, a very enjoyable 3 nights stay. And the bed was very comfortable, more so than in many expensive hotels!
As others have commented, Jimena is a lovely hillside town with some good restaurants and a lively cultural life. But you need to know it is steep for walking and driving!

Room Tip: Ones at the back have great views and are quiet

We enjoyed New Year's Eve dinner and entertainment here with a great group of people! It was a fabulous, fun night! The place was packed from the onset and after midnight the bar was opened to the locals as well, creating a great Spanish New Years Eve. The food was good, although they could have used a few more staff to get it all out on time and still hot, but none-the-less it was good. The music was live and very good, keeping the atmosphere from the start of cocktails to the after dinner band which had many on the dance floor.
We did not stay the night, but the rooms are lovely! In Jimena this would be a good place to stay. The bar and restaurant have great ambiance!

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing away from Calle Seville for quiet.

The house has a central atrium so you hope your fellow guests will be considerate since noise travels. Melissa is very helpful and the town is a good centre for exploring the area.. The walk along the river is well worth doing..

Room Tip: The room we had at the back overlooking the enclosed terrace had lovely views over the mountains.

The photographs do justice to the Hotel Casa Henrietta and its old-world charm. We arrived mid-afternoon when siesta was occurring and it took a while to get anyone to answer ... we rang the phone number on the note pinned to the door.
Once inside the beautiful entrance had us hooked. We had a room with a balcony (lock was very temperamental and we were worried we wouldn't get out again - the only blip of our stay) and it was spacious and beautifully decorated. The peace and calm was palpable and the views wonderful.
Breakfast was a simple affair in a beautiful bar down in the basement... quite quirky in terms of an eclectic mix of seating and tables and the décor.
The young man who was 'on duty' kindly ordered a taxi to take us to Jimena Estacion and overall we were thoroughly relaxed and refreshed by the air of Jimena and the hotel itself. We'll go again!
