“Ok Hotel with little to offer”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2011

Many rooms are dungeons with either narrow or high windows. Front desk staff was excelent. Bar staff was the worse. A colleague asked for pretzels and bar tender said a curt "no" when we could see the snacks below the bar. They started shutting down the bar very early and did not serve after midnight. Poor service all around.

Great breakfast Buffet. Room service was obnoxious. ouldn't make a club sandwich that was on the menu.

Poor location. a long 25 minutes to teh Old Town and nothing else is near the hotel. Can do much better.

Room Tip: ask for one with a window!

This 4 star hotel, recently and luxury renovated, has everything you can ask for a first class stay. Room was beautiful, although not with a sea view, had nice furniture and bathroom with full accessories. LCD swivel TV and very fast internet access in the room was always available. Swimming pool with Jacuzzi, Gym/fitness for guest, excellent and helpful service from Main Desk personnel. We particular enjoyed the huge buffet Breakfast while seated in front the hotel with the sea view. Forget about the Bus to get in Stockholm center, you can easily get on the Boat that stops in front the hotel (runs every 20-30') and after an enjoyable trip (20' ca.) you land in the centrum city, or you can even stop in between. Late in the evening during a walk we discovered a nice open place just on the vicinity, full with people for enjoy a glass of beer and night life (and boats passing by in the canal).

It seems to be a fairly new hotel. It looks out over the bay and you have nice views across to the main city. As a number of people have mentioned, it is a little further out from the city, which may put some people off. There is a bus that runs every 15 minutes during the day (20mins at night) into the city. It takes around 20 mins to get to Gamlastan. Taxis are around 150Kr. There is also a ferry just outside the hotel that takes you into the city. You can get most tickets and travel passes from the hotel reception. We didn't find travelling into the city a problem and the inconvinience was more than made up for by the quality of the hotel.
The rooms are spacious and have everything you might need including free wifi. Good powerful showers. Breakfast is amazing with huge variety and choice. There is also a great indoor pool, which was empty most of the time.
Just a tip if you are stayiing here - make sure you go out to eat/ shop in Sodermalm. It is the less touristy bit of Stockholm and so has a variety of great restaurants and shops where the locals go. Hermann's (on Fjallagatan) does the most amazing vegetarian buffets.

The hotel is brand new, the rooms are very clean and has a lot of space.
Bed very confortable.
The shower is a bit tricky to use but when you know it is very good.
Staff are friendly, they let me use the computer of the reception desk as I had no notebook.
Very nice view of Stockholm.
Breakfast very good, lots of choices and despite of a lot of people in the hotel the buffet was always prepared. Bacon and chedar chese were perfect.
There are very good connections with city center (bus or boat).
Only complain is the lift go get from the bus stop to the hotel: in the panel is writen that you have to press the buton 8 but in fact you have to press the 3, otherwise you will get stucked in the wrong flor. I told that to the staff and the lady told me that a lot of people have had the same problem before. So, why they dont fix it?

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2010

I stayed at this hotel for one week in July 2010 and enjoyed every moment of it. The building is an old mill by the waterfront from 1890 which was recently converted into a hotel after having been abandoned for since the 80s.

The hotel is barely walking distance from Stockholm so we prefered to take the ferry or the bus into town. Parking is only 40 SEK for 24 hours but the hotel is a bit tricky to find by car.

We had a junior suite on the 8th floor which was very spacious and had views to the North and East. The bed was extremely comfortable, bath room functional and large enough for two and we also had the benefits of a working area, a dining table and two large TV chairs.

Breakfast and internet were included in the room rate. We had breakfast every morning on the terrasse outside the hotel, watching boats and ferries pass by. There is no car traffic outside the hotel so we were able to sleep with open windows without being disturbed.

The property has a indoor pool, a jaccuzzi and a gym with very modern equipment, none of which we ever took advantage of.

We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and were very pleased with the quality of the food.

The hotel staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful, especially the front desk staff.

There is a nice beer garden around the cornet called Boule and Berså which can be recommended.

My only complaint would be the hotel is not very easy to reach by public transport late at night. It is also slightly understaffed (a commmon problem at Swedish hotels due to high labour costs) so the pool area was a bit messy late at night and service was a bit slow in the restaurant. Some rooms have very small windows (as this building was originally industrial) so if you reserve a room with sea view, ask the front desk to get you a room in the middle of the building where windows are larger.

In my opinion this hotel has a gorgeous location and is very reasonably priced. Very few Stockholm hotels in this price range can offer such high sleep quality and fantastic views. Hardly any hotels offer a large indoor pool and cheap parking.

We have read some good reviews and thought it will be a good service minded hotel. The reception was not very warm welcoming .(they are almost sitting behind a wall and the most feel disturbed if you come) No room was prepared. Seaview cost 200Sek more the night which was it worth. The restaurant service was an castrophe. Oh, yes, I have forgotten your asparagus soup. Sorry. Oh I have forgotten the butterbut you know there are coming things between !!! And so slowly. Sorry , but it is better to eat in town. The breakfast is ok but as well here is the staff not able to say good morning, or clean the tables. Rooms are ok, but here the same . The cleaning personal should also known how to say good morning and how to clean.

Maybe we are spoiled by the Marriot, Radisson and Stallmästergården personal.
We can´t recommand that hotel. A good breakfast I get a several places and a good view also.

First, the hotell is brand new, our room was comletely spotlesly clean, looked like no one had stayed in it before. The beds are very comfortable but why not have a real double bed instead of two singles put together?
We had a Superior room on 8th floor, the room was nice but we did miss a couple of things anyway. Som drawers to hold smaller items or clothes would be good. A bathrobe and slippers is nice, but how do they think? We got one robe for two people! Take turns?
We actually dont know what we paid the Sek 600:- extra for, a sofa? A box of choclates was included in the 600:-, a bit dissapointing to find a miniature box of four pieces to split between us.
We realy like to get a cup of coffé or tea in the room when we get back in the evening after a long day, so we dislike the cheapnes of not providing even a waterheater and some instant coffe and teabags.
The thing we missed the most was however a wiev! Two small roofwindows that you have to stand on something to see out through! The total impression was not Superior at all.
As others have stated the hotel is a bit far from everything and this would keep us from staying again.
The pool an jacuzzi is realy nice but the dressing room and showers are not, nowhere to but your clothes while showering or dressing.
Brekfast was realy good, no complaints.
Wireless internet worked fine but why not have som information in the room about amenities? Why do we always have to find things out by our selfs or aske about it. Please put a folder in the rooms about where the pool is, it´s hours, how you use the wi-fi (turnd out we had to have a code picked up at the front desk to use it, why not let us know instead of having to ask?), nearby restaurants, communications etc.

Overall the hotel is nice but to far away and not whorth the extra money so we will not return.
