“Great Hotel - Highly Recommended”
Reviewed 31 August 2011

We stayed here at the suggestion of a local friend and were not disappointed. Great rooms, interconnecting so the kids were close by, with a lovely view across the water to the city.

Big flat screen TV, power shower, clean well appointed rooms - all the things I like when travelling.

We used the pool - quiet the first day, busier when a conference was in the second day.

Breakfast was excellent - the best I've had (and I've travelled alot) - with a buffet of everything from bacon and sausages to waffles, fruit, toast, pastries, ham, cereals, cheese and, of course, herring. It is Sweden, after all...

The staff couldn't have been more helpful, too.

This hotel is all that I want from a hotel. We stayed for 2 nights in July, tourists in our own city. We had a De Luxe seaview room and the room was enormous with 4 great windows overlooking the sea. Best part - you could lie in bed looking out on the water. The beds were so comfortable, there were both shower and bath in the bathroom, a great TV that could turn so you could either sit in the lounge area or lie in bed watching.
The cleaning was early and excellent - one of the best in all hotels I've stayed in.
One of the plus-sides was that you could take the boat just outside the hotel and go straight to Gröna Lund or to the heart of the city.
Breakfast was rich and excellent.
The staff friendly and helping. A great beautiful indoor swimmingpool added to the experience. This is a hotel I really want to come back to.

I go to a lot of hotels for conferences so have become very picky (See my Swissotel Chicago review!), therefore what a pleasant surprise to arrive at this hotel with no prior knowledge to find that it ticks most of the boxes and often over delivers.

First off, the bad thing. It's location isn't great. We spent 90% of our time in conference and were taken by bus or boat to where we needed to go but without this easy routing I don't think this would be a great hotel, for instance, for a couple having a weekend in Stockholm. You are better of staying somewhere very central so you can walk.

Having said this, it is on the waters edge and has really excellent views from many of the rooms.

The rooms are spacious and very modern with big bathrooms and rainstorm style showers. The beds are incredibly comfortable. Whilst the hotel looks like an old wharf building this is in fact the original facade. The building behind the facade is brand new and finished to an extraordinarily high quality.

The buffet breakfast is extensive and very tasty. I wish my kids had been with me they would have loved it!

The conference facilities are brand new and extremely high quality with some very nice break out room looking out over the water. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

All in all, if you are thinking of having a business meeting or conference here, just book it. If you are coming here as a couple or a family you will be delighted with the hotel but may get sick of the extra hassle of getting to the sights

Room Tip: Insist in a room with a lake view

Nice hotel with very clean and tidy rooms. Location a bit off - but ok at summertimes due to the ferry commute into town.

BEWARE - Do not use the Hotel parking garage. My new Audi was buglarized and completely vandalised by thieves. It is a known problem, and the hotel has tried to set up video but have so far failed to discourage the gangs in the area.

Multiple cars the same night had been destroyed and broken into - and although staff helped clean the glass from the car - it was an awful experience. NO SECURITY PREVAILS.

Room Tip: AVOID THE GARAGE - DANGER

Many rooms are dungeons with either narrow or high windows. Front desk staff was excelent. Bar staff was the worse. A colleague asked for pretzels and bar tender said a curt "no" when we could see the snacks below the bar. They started shutting down the bar very early and did not serve after midnight. Poor service all around.

Great breakfast Buffet. Room service was obnoxious. ouldn't make a club sandwich that was on the menu.

Poor location. a long 25 minutes to teh Old Town and nothing else is near the hotel. Can do much better.

Room Tip: ask for one with a window!

This 4 star hotel, recently and luxury renovated, has everything you can ask for a first class stay. Room was beautiful, although not with a sea view, had nice furniture and bathroom with full accessories. LCD swivel TV and very fast internet access in the room was always available. Swimming pool with Jacuzzi, Gym/fitness for guest, excellent and helpful service from Main Desk personnel. We particular enjoyed the huge buffet Breakfast while seated in front the hotel with the sea view. Forget about the Bus to get in Stockholm center, you can easily get on the Boat that stops in front the hotel (runs every 20-30') and after an enjoyable trip (20' ca.) you land in the centrum city, or you can even stop in between. Late in the evening during a walk we discovered a nice open place just on the vicinity, full with people for enjoy a glass of beer and night life (and boats passing by in the canal).

It seems to be a fairly new hotel. It looks out over the bay and you have nice views across to the main city. As a number of people have mentioned, it is a little further out from the city, which may put some people off. There is a bus that runs every 15 minutes during the day (20mins at night) into the city. It takes around 20 mins to get to Gamlastan. Taxis are around 150Kr. There is also a ferry just outside the hotel that takes you into the city. You can get most tickets and travel passes from the hotel reception. We didn't find travelling into the city a problem and the inconvinience was more than made up for by the quality of the hotel.
The rooms are spacious and have everything you might need including free wifi. Good powerful showers. Breakfast is amazing with huge variety and choice. There is also a great indoor pool, which was empty most of the time.
Just a tip if you are stayiing here - make sure you go out to eat/ shop in Sodermalm. It is the less touristy bit of Stockholm and so has a variety of great restaurants and shops where the locals go. Hermann's (on Fjallagatan) does the most amazing vegetarian buffets.
