“Excellent Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 August 2014

This hotel is stylish, comfortable, clean and the staff were very attentive. The setting is perfect if you are looking for a relaxing vacation where you can just sit back and enjoy. During my stay the weather was warm and sunny (July 25-28). It was a joy to return to the hotel after a day of sightseeing to sit on the front lawn facing the bay watching boats go by with a glass of wine. I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: I booked two rooms, one ocean view and one regular view. They were both excellent and had a balcony...

This is a lovely hotel - nicely styled with comfortable beds.

It isn't in the centre of Stockholm but it is significantly better value than central hotels and there is a ferry "boat bus" from the waterfront 5 minute walk from the hotel reception desk. This was about £3.50 for a single ticket valid for 60 minutes travel. So not bad :-)

The boat trip to the centre was also lovely calling at a few cool place enrolee - including the fun fair - which looks so cool form the water.

The breakfast buffet here is amazing! such a great choice, nice and fresh and delicious. The only thing missing was fish - which seemed a bit odd given we were in Sweden. The breakfast is served in a separate breakfast house - which seemed to be reserved solely for the breakfast buffet!

The rooms are spacious and well appointed with blackout curtains which is important given the near never ending daylight in summer. The in room aircon was a bit non existent - which was a bit disappointing for such a nice hotel.

We didn't explore much of the local area of Nacka - but it seems quite residential and fairly quiet.

I would recommend staying here, and would do so again myself if in Stockholm - just plan your days out as you won't want to be returning to the hotel mid day.

Stayed two nights at this wonderful hotel! It is just amazing! Staff very nice and service-minded. We were able to check in extra early without any fuss. Room spotless and comfortable in New England style! Bathroom was very clean and modern! Nice balcony.

The breakfast buffet was rich with lots of choices and most of it home made.

Location great facing the sea and very calm! Easy to get to downtown by bus or by boat! Boat stop just next to the hotel!

All in all, perfection! Would definitely stay here again and recommend it strongly!

Excellent modern and beautifully designed rooms with a good view. Transport to Stockholm, especially at night, more difficult than expected. Good breakfast but lack of good nearby restaurants in the evening is a problem. The Keys didn't work as they should and we
managed to get locked up in the undergound parking and to get visitors doing night.

This hotel has high quality standards. All the sheets are made by GANT, a swedish luxury clothing brand of American heritage launched in New Haven in 1949. You feel like you are sleeping on a cloud. Beside this, this hotel location is in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood with sea view and and safe streets. Also you can go to city center with a bus or ferry in about 20 minutes. I recomend you to pay a little extra for the sea view.

Room Tip: Sea view room!

Everything was perfect for our 4 days, the rooms (we had 2, executive sea view ), beds, decor, the relaxed helpful staff, the breakfast, the deck loungers of the lawn to watch the boats, etc, etc. - Fantastic.
The breakfast in the old villa was expansive and everyone found something to suit. The location is a bit out of town so if you want to be out late in city centre it's either a boat or taxi. Be careful on the taxi prices as they vary hugely and you could get a shocking price. The boats run all day and limited service at night from in front Restaurant J,which is a little pricey but good. The timetable given by the hotel was not quite up to date, but down at the quay you get all the latest timetables.

The Neal's Yard products in the rooms are a nice touch.

Take a sea view room with balcony, ideal for a read and sunset.

Downside, none, even the internet speed was good enough for my teenage kids!!

The location of the hotel is glorious and walk to little Nacka harbour is a sunset must, a surprise for some people was the tank farm and fuel jetty just down from the hotel, but it's not to be seen unless in a boat, it's far enough away there is no disturbance so do not let this worry you.

Having read the reviews of Hotel J, I felt Nacka would make a good base to explore Stockholm. The hotel itself is located in a beautiful setting, overlooking the stunning archipelago. I booked a Seaview Room and when I arrived I was directed to a room on the first floor. Unfortunately, I was unable to see the sea because of the trees, however the lovely team quickly swapped my room, moving me to floor five. After that, the hotel and holiday was bliss. The room was spacious, stylishly decorated and clean (with Neal's Yard bath products) and the veranda was huge, while the sunset every evening was breathtaking. As for breakfast - YUM!!! It was a delicious spread, with fresh juice, muesli, scrambled eggs, bacon, mega nutty rye bread, and - PANCAKES!!! With whipped cream and homemade blueberry compote. Although Hotel J is a 25 minute boat ride from Stockholm, it is a wonderfully peaceful place to return to in the evenings and for that, I can't recommend it enough. My dad accompanied me on this trip and he's so taken by HOTEL J, he's already booked to go back in a month's time. Says it all really...

Room Tip: The rooms on floor five, facing the sea are lovely.
