I visited Padiham last year and stayed at the Trevelyan Guest House for one week. I was a little apprehensive as its situated on the main road. However I discovered that there are actually two buildings, The one on the main road is actually some 600 years old and houses some rooms and the kitchen/dining room. Another building out the back was built not long ago but constructed of stone blocks like the old style, I got a room in the rear building and was very quiet. The room was big and cosy with nice comfortable bed and good sized ensuite. Tea and coffee making available. Parking not an issue. The english breakfast was plentifull and excellent, no pre cooked warmed rubbish here. Two good quality restaurants and plenty of take aways nearby. The hosts were warm and amiable. The gentleman who owns the place is Welsh and had a delightfull Welsh accent. Coming from Australia I love the accents. This is the only B and B in town that I could find. Used to be 2 but the other one closed last year. Avoid the pubs as they are far too noisy.
