Stayed here for one night in a standard double.
Room is a similar style and standard to a premier Inn and for the price, it's perfect. Bed was comfy, room was clean. Perfect for a one night stay.
Breakfast was superb. Locally sourced and really tasty. Will return.

We stayed at Abbey Lodge in February for one night. We booked a superior room. We parked easily and after booking in were shown to our room by the front of house manager. The decor in the public areas was bright and airy but in the stairwells was dark pink and purple and not very nice. The room was ok, nothing special. There was no view and as the room was in the basement a barred grill was not the prettiest. It was also quite dark. The bed was large and comfy but I didn't sleep very well as we were below the 24 hour reception and I kept being woken up by people walking around and the sound of drawers being opened and closed. The carpet has seen better days and was a bit baggy , could also of done with a Hoover. The floor in the bathroom was dirty too and the bath looked ok but felt a bit scummy as though it hadn't had a proper clean. The jacuzzi bath was ok and I am guessing that's what made this a superior room. There was no soap in the bathroom which was a bit disappointing so we used the two little tubes of shower gel to wash our hands. The hairdryer was in a drawer and this too was full of hair. There was a large T.V and the room was warm and comfortable.
We had a drink in the bar but would have liked some comfy seating , it's where breakfast is served so just tables and chairs.
We had a lovely breakfast on the Sunday morning. The food was excellent quality and well cooked. The waitress could have been a bit cheerier but maybe she was having an off day.
On leaving we were blocked in by another car as if you park in the back row of the car park there is no way out if the front row is full. We had a 15 wait for the owner to be found but that was ok.
All in all it's an ok hotel and suited our purpose but if you want a bit of real comfort try somewhere else.

When you are at the end of a long day you look forward to finding your hotel in a nice location. My initial thoughts were what have I done in booking this hotel? Second thoughts on finding the car park at the back of the hotel were confirmation of the first. On booking in and being shown to my room 'down stairs', remember I'd entered the hotel at street level, I thought my goodness (cleaned up) I'm in the basement.

OK that's the negativity out of the way, on entering the room I found a very well decorated comfortable room with a large LCD TV, which included Sky Sports.

On opening the bathroom door I was amazed to find a jacuzzi bath - I'm afraid to say I indulged myself.

Dinner was served in the lounge and I had the gigantic gammon steak and chips - well cooked and presented.

If this hotel had been in a better location it would easily have been worth 5 stars in my estimation. Friendly staff - good room - excellent food

Room Tip: I had room a room in the basement with a jacuzzi bath, was I just lucky or are they all like this...

We booked here through booking.com for a Saturday night away-from-the-teenagers break.

Parking is a bit tight at the back of the hotel, but fine.

We were warmly welcomed and shown to our room by Chris, who explained bar and food times, and how to operate the heating and spa bath (much more helpful than trying to follow a printed card).
The room (106) was clean, well appointed and modern with a king sized bed and plenty of pillows.

The hotel doesn't serve evening meals on a Saturday, but the receptionist recommended several nearby restaurants.

Breakfast was freshly cooked and plentiful.

Well worth £65. Would recommend.

Room Tip: 106 was a superior room, downstairs. Quiet and private.

We stayed here - a first - on New Year's Eve and can't fault a thing. All staff were friendly and helpful, and our room clean and comfortable. If we are staying in the area again, we would not hesitate in staying again.

Visited Shipley for a couple of days for the first time. Chose Abbey Lodge Hotel over the Ibis as I had stayed at the Ibis in multiple other locations and wanted to try something more local. Am glad I made this decision. The hotel was clean, the staff were very friendly, location is convenient - about a 5 min walk from the Shipley station. The hotel is located on a busy road, but you don't hear anything once inside. will definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Shipley.

Room was superbly clean, bathroom spotless. Staff very friendly...local Yorkshire men on reception and couldn't have been more helpful. We came to see a band in a nearby venue and the band were staying in the hotel..apparently lots do...so we ended up next to the band for breakfast..Very good value. Free wi fi and car park and breakfast included.

Room Tip: We asked for a king size and it came with a jacuzzi bath.
