We visted here after deciding against a long walk but wanting to view somthing different.
Saltaire wasan excellent place to visit and the visitor centre had staff who knew their stuff! The Mill bulding had a really interesting art displey and the history presentation was really good. However , the restaurant was very expensive. We found a very good cafe in the basement of a bakers shop.
Generally a day out worth taking

My wife and I took a stroll around Saltaire and were impressed by the older architecture and general "feel" of the place. Although we arrived too late to look around the Salts Mill, we went on the recommended walk down the canal and through the woods. It was a beautiful evening and as our son lives nearby, we will certainly be going back.

Saltaire Village was recommended to us and we were pleased we went. The buildings and shops are lovely and there is a beautiful park which was great to walk around as the sun was shining when we went. We took a trip in the tramway, but there is nothing much to look at then you get to the top. We wanted to support them as we like to keep these sort of things going (run by volunteers)

A beautiful, impressive, atmospheric oasis of a place. The village is interesting to wander, Salt's Mill is an inspiring space with some lovely shops and cafés, and of course the wonderful Hockney galleries. The church is worth going inside and Robert's Park is lovely when the weather's good. Good walks along the canal towpath. Plenty here to make a full day or two's exploring.
