We're always a bit difficult to please. Vegetarian, watching calories, we want one main course between two (then we can eat a cake!)
Salts Diner simply bring the food, extra plate, big knife to divide it. Staff couldn't be nicer.
The setting is great too. Make your way through art books and materials shop, which doubles as a gallery, and up past a really pleasant bookshop, to get here. It really is one of the best approaches to a restaurant.
The food is more bistro than formal dinner, very well served and presented and very tasty. On busy days you won't get a table although it looks as though regulars and organised visitors book in advance.
Lastly it is a bit noisy. The floors are stone (yes, on the second floor) and the space is rather large, so sounds do travel and echo a bit.
