“Hidden gem in Tenerife!!!! A++++”
Reviewed 7 April 2014 via mobile

We have just returned from a wonderful week in Tenerife staying at the aguamarina golf apartments. We were speechless when we saw our apartment, it was fantastic. Far better than some five star properties on the island. Spacious, well equipped and with a beautiful view over the sea. What more could you ask for. And all at a bargain price. We were so pleased that we have booked again for September within a day of returning. The apartments are immaculate and well maintained. The pool area is large and quiet with plenty of beds. We just hope that we can have the same room next time we come on the 5th floor. Would highly recommend this to anyone especially if you want a quiet break. Thank you aguamarina golf. See you in September!!!!!

My husband and I (aged 61 and 54) loved our 7 nights at the Aguamarina.
We stayed self catering and had room 201 - such lovely views over the marina and out to sea. The reception is on level 4 and we were on level 2 so had a choice of lifts to take us down the 2 levels. The pool is on level 1 and even this had lovely views out to sea and the marina.
We arrived on Friday 28th march and Saturday 29th was our wedding anniversary and what a lovely surprise to come back to the apartment after going out to lunch to find a bottle of champagne and a lovely note from the management...such a nice touch.
THE APARTMENT:- very roomy and clean (ok some people may say that some of the furnishings need a bit of an update but this didnt bother us at all). The bathroom was big with bath (shower over bath), walk in shower, loo and bidet. complimentary soaps, and shower cap.
Towels changed when required.
Cleaners did a most fantastic job.
The balconies are massive and was lovely to sit out listening to the sea and looking down to the marina
The pool area was lovely and clean and once you got into the pool (sea water) it was gorgeous.
The beds were a bit uncomfortable but we still got a good nights sleep - only problem we found was the pillows - they were almost flat and only got one each so we used the cushions off the settees also.
We took a travel kettle but boiling a pan on the hob wouldnt have been a problem. Our microwave did not have a combination grill so we could not make toast.
we tried to make a small cooked breakfast one day but as it took 45 minutes on the small 2 ring hob we didnt bother again.
Night times were rather cool - wished we had brought onesies. we used the extra blanket each but some nights we just couldnt get warm enought so ended up putting our hoodies on for bed and a pair of socks.
temperatures hot in the day but cold at night.
OUT AND ABOUT:- lots of nice places to eat out very close by..Bistro27 was excellent - they do a brilliant breakfast but the evenings there are great - lovely food with a great background singer..(the deserts are fantastic - crepes and the banana flambe is to die for)
The Wildgeese across from reception is a lovely atmosphere and they also do great food (steak night on a monday is excellent)
Aberdeen Steakhouse (turn right from reception and a short stroll up the hill) do fantastic full breakfast and evening / lunchtime meals - recommend the mixed grill at only 5.50 euro - great bargain - also big beer for 1 euro what more could you ask for.
We tried to get on the free bus provided by the hotel but they were booked up on the days we wanted so we got the local bus to los christianos and las americas - bargain prices - bus stop is up a bit of a steep rough track beside the wild geese pub (easier coming back)
San Blas is a nice walk along the coast path or along the road (past aberdeen steakhouse) there is a few nice eating places here.
there is a supermarket next to the wild geese but a bigger one in San Blas.
Los Abrigos has some lovely places to eat (bit further along from San Blas so better to get a taxi there and back)
So overall had a brilliant time
would we go back again - most definately - but would bring a warmer jacket if we go in march/april again and something warm to wear for bed and we would need an extra pillow each

Room Tip: sea view is amazing

Just returned from a very relaxing holiday.Firstly I have to agree with previous comments, the apartments are in need of some TLC. However, the cleaning staff are excellent in keeping the apartments clean and tidy and work very hard. I do not see a problem with boiling a saucepan of water if needed. The bathroom is looking tired, the shower head kept slipping down, so we tied a food tie underneath it to hold it up! Towels and bathrobes are provided and are clean and changed whenever you want. Hairdryer provided and bath cream if needed. Also beach towels can be collected from reception.
Safe available in room for 2euros per day. (10 euro refundable deposit)
On previous holidays we have been able to use the Hotel restaurant, but this time both breakfast and dinner had to be taken in the apartment restaurant on the ground floor. I have to say, the food is excellent with so much choice and something for everyone. Drinks around the pool were expensive and the supermarket across the road is making a fortune out of holiday makers. We visited San Blas supermarket, which was much bigger, more choice and cheaper, so stocked up on groceries and wine!!( Take bags as they now charge)
Wifi in the hotel is NOT free, buy a drink at the 'Wild Geese' across the road & use theirs!
The free bus into LC & Playa DLA is very good, get ticket from reception.
If you are looking for 'nightlife' then I suggest you stay at LC /Playa DLA as this is a quiet resort. However, the views looking out to sea & the marina whilst chilling by the pool are wonderful. There are also some lovely cliff top walks, try the 'Nautico' coffee shop on the way to Los Abrigos.... (2 coffees = 3.50)
All in all, we had a lovely holiday and will return. For all its 'little' faults, I am sure some of the other hotels have faults as well, and we always know what to expect.

Room Tip: Take dish cloth, wiping up cloth, washing up liquid etc.

this was our second time here so we booked for 2 weeks our apartment did have a sea view but so did most, we where at the furthest away from reception this made it a long haul with luggage checking in and out plus every time we went out ( we requested a move ?. no chance) the very best person at reception was the night man Lewis he was so pleasant with such a happy smile. pity it did't rub off on the day staff. must say the apartments was well serviced the pool area was very nicely kept with plenty of sunbeds etc and.the free bus was an extra bones. not sure if we will return the third time. the Irish bar is just a hop skip & jump across the road where the food is reasonable but very good and the staff there are simply the best must mention Ben and co and we would go back for them. also when out and about on the on the free bus you will find that cameras will be offered at a very low price watch out it will finish up costing you a small fortune

Room Tip: if you get the chance ask for apartments 2/3/405 or 6. 7. even though they are at the far end they a...

Our 4th visit sadly will be our last unless we find a privately owned apartment within the complex. Unfortunately those that are not private are now getting very jaded. The beds left me feeling bruised! The small saucepan used for boiling the water this year had become a huge stew pot!! Bit excessive to make a cuppa. Can't help wonder if it is to encourage you to rent a kettle!! Also, when we arrived at our rooms (2 couples in 2 rooms) we found we had poor views, particularly our room which had a very obscured view (we had paid for sea view). We asked if we could be moved but sadly the lady on receptions attitude was poor, shrugging her shoulders and saying 'not my problem' not the ideal reaction when dealing with a customer request. If they couldn't help then that would have been acceptable, disappointing but acceptable, the poor attitude wasn't.

As usual, plenty of beds round the swimming pool but not enough cushions and those that were there are getting old and tatty.

I really love this location with the apartments overlooking the sea and marina but have definitely seen a decline in the apartments :(

One thing that hasn't changed is the cleanliness, it is scrupulously clean and the staff do a grand job both in the rooms and around the complex.

This is the third time we have had a holiday at the AG Apartments and we both agree that the improvements made are noticeable. The staff are a lot more friendly and helpfull the WiFi is a bit better, the rooms are clean and serviced five days a week. They could do with a few more sunbeds and pads around the pool.(to be fair we did see new beds ariving on the last day of our holiday)

Room Tip: If you want the sun in the morning on your balcony you want a room on the right hand side of recepti...

Just back from a week at this hotel. The staff were great, speaking to people who stay regularly, I can understand why. The food choice was great and varied, with a different theme each day in one section.

I would say, in the light of not being able to access mobile networks, the Wifi should be free. I do understand Tenerife is a bit behind the times ITwise.

I would have given 'Sleep Quality' full marks had the people upstairs known how to behave in a social situation. Dragging chairs across a hard floor, allowing a child to run across the room repeatedly early in the morning and walking around in hard shoes. I didn't complain to the hotel as it was the end of the holiday, I did consider knocking their door when we checked out at 4am, but resisted.
