We have just returned from Vista Picas apartments in Menorca. The transfer from the airport took just over an hour. When we arrived at Vista Picas we were welcomed by a lovely lady Lindsey on reception. She soon checked us in and was giving us a ground floor apartment but I asked if it would be possible to have one on the second floor and she quickly changed it for us. The apartment seemed very nice when we first entered and was bigger than I expected. When we pulled the curtains back we found we were facing the pool which was nice. The kitchen is only small but it was quite sufficient for us because we eat out apart from breakfast and the occasional night when we stopped in and had a light tea, bottle of wine and played cards. There was plenty of crockery and cutlery, pans, toaster, kettle etc. There was also an iron and ironing board. The bedroom was very roomy. It had 2 double wardrobes, dressing table and 2 bedside cabinets. Plenty of room to put everything away. We had everything we needed for a 10 day holiday. It was very hot and we could just have done with air conditioning but anyway we coped with the patio doors open and doors from the bedroom on to the balcony open. We closed them at bed time because we thought we may have had insects coming in. We had the bed changed twice and towels changed three times. It was all very clean. The pool area was very nice and always looked clean too. We didn't really eat much at the restaurant on sight as we liked to go out mostly. We did have a jacket potato and a pint one day when we stayed round the pool which was very satisfactory and reasonably priced. We caught the bus 3 times into Cuitadella which is a lovely place in the old town. The bus stop was just outside the complex and cost 1.65 euros each way each. We also went into Cala en Bosch which was another nice place with quite a nice beach and a marina with lots of restaurants around it. There were plenty of restaurants around the Vista Picas area. We tried various ones, Los Delfines which was just a short stroll away, L'Ancora which is about a 10 min walk on the left under the blue bridge which you will soon discover and best of all Haiti which again is just a short stroll away. We had three lovely meals there at a very reasonable price. As an example one night we just had a main meal each and shared a sweet, a litre of sangria and 2 irish coffee's and it came to around 41 euros which was around £34. A good bottle of wine there was around 8 euros. All in all we enjoyed the holiday and would probably go back again.
