Just returned from a week at the Cala Galdana hotel .The hotel was nice but not quite a 4 star rating as advertised online by thomsons .The bedrooms were a good size and the bed was comfortable but the bathroom we had was very pokey ,the bath toilet and basin was crammed into a very small space, the terrace was however big we had room for 2 sunbeds and a table with 2 chairs ,and the sun all day long until at least 6.30 in the evening ,it was on the 1st floor and the only floor to have large terraces , all the others had small balconies and were just big enough for a small table and 2 chairs. The staff were very friendly and the room was kept clean by the maid every day . The food was adequate , lots of choice for the main course and salad every night although the deserts were limited to different cakes ,fruit and tubs of ice cream .There were 2 good shows,1 an african acrobatic show and the other a flamenco dance show ,the others were average tribute groups .The location is good ,a small walk to the seafront ,We had excellent weather some days reaching 30 degrees .
We checked in online thinking all we had to do was drop our bags off but when we got to the airport there was a massive queue which took an hour to the check in desk so a waste of time doing it online , the flights themselves were ok and fairly short transfer time to the resort . Overall a nice break at an average 3 star hotel .

We were travelling in a party of 5 and had booked 2 rooms but the hotel upgraded us into a villa on arrival. Our two bed villa was great with two bathrooms, living area and kitchenette with a view of the pool and sea. Why can't we book these through Thomson? The staff were helpful and friendly and the food very good. Plenty of choice in the restaurant for fussy kids and my eldest son loved having sausage, chips and beans for breakfast! The entertainment in the evening was on the whole very good and usually finished by 10.30pm to allow a good night's sleep. Most of the visitors were older and I was surprised at how few families there were despite it being half term. Very relaxed resort with beautiful beach.

Room Tip: We had villa 2012 - fantastic location overlooking pool and stage for evening entertainment with a sea view. Most villas were in market square without these views.

This visit to Cala Galdana included our 12 year old boy. The hotel was perfect for this family group, in contrast to our adults only visit to the Audax two years ago. I had swopped the sea view room booked with Thomson for a one bed apartment before we travelled. The hotel could not have been more helpful arranging this and we were astonished on arrival to have been upgraded to a TWO bedded apartment with TWO bathrooms. This was perfect for us. Ignore all the bad comments about the Villas. They are great. The little square is not busy in the evenings and all noise has died down when you want to go to bed. Lovely pool area, but busy. Same comments apply to restaurant, where queuing was common for dinner, no matter what time you went. Don't think this was helped by a German "gruppe" arriving about the Monday and being given a whole section of the dining room to themselves. They should have been put in the back room. However little complaint about the food, plenty of it and mostly hot. If you couldn't find something then you are very picky (and I am!). Desserts awful, but then that's common throughout Spain. They just don't "get" puddings. Would I go again? No, but then we won't have the boy with us next time. Would I go in the high season? NO - it would be far too busy. Pick and choose your time and you will really enjoy it. Beach and cove beautiful as always, although beach hire charges are outrageous. Buy your own lilo and just dump it at the end of the week. Car hire through Autos Cala Galdana (next to the pharmacy) very reasonable and fantastic service as before. Highly recommend them.

stayed in room 219. front facing view which was fine. I suppose the view from the higher floors would be better but as I hadn't paid extra for a sea view im certainly not complaining!!! the room was better than what I had expected and was absolutely spotless. the small balcony was ok to have a vodka and a fag on before we went out/came back. we stayed on half board basis and ate there every day apart from one night when we ate out on the way back from the beach. entertainment at the hotel was centred on the piano bar but I believe it will be around the pool area from june. mmmm the beach !!!!! we have been fortunate enough to have been to some beautiful places but the beach here is as stunning as anywhere we have been and went there everyday. the pool area was very nice at the hotel, its just that we prefer the beach. if you are pool people you will not be dissappointed. also, the beach seems to have plenty of lifeguards/ red cross there which is good. only one morning there were jellyfish about and the "jellyfish flag" was flying. found the cost of booze more expensive than the other Balearics. cheapest pint was 3.50 euros and large vodka/tonic around 5 euros. I would take a few cans down on the beach and they would cost about 1 euro. cant really comment on eating out but we went to the toboggan once and food was very good and reasonably priced. our fave bar was sa tasca where pepe and ana make you feel very welcome. met some lovely people with a special mention to dennis and cheryl. all in all a gorgeous place to go for people of our age. not for younger couples but if your there with kids it should suit you as well. cheers.

Staff excellent. Really pretty location. Excellent beach but sun beds pricey. Rooms and food excellent for the price. Very clean if a little shabby in places (particularly in the bathroom). Be prepared to queue for happy hour. Only one barman on duty who worked tireless but just couldn't serve quick enough. Also, when entertainment went inside there isn't enough seating either to watch entertainment or just to have a drink.
Biggest asset is definitely the staff and location.
