“Absolutely fine for the price”

Stayed for four nights with my baby, friend and her two year old in a one bed apartment. The bedroom had a fan and lounge did not, but that was fine- it didn't say the lounge did. Apartment had small stove, kettle and sink and basic crockery. It was clean. Pool area was very clean, with loads and loads of sun beds. Breakfast was not great and nor was dinner, but nothing worse than expected for a 3 star. Good value food for sale for lunches if you were half hoard like us. Fans for hire at reception. They let us store our pram in the office for free all holiday when we were not using it as there were a good few steps up to our room.would recommend.

Dear guest,

Thank you so much for your nice and positive comments about our complex. Luckily all the descriptions mention that the Montemar is situated on a hillslope, has many many steps and is absolutely not suitable for people with walking problems. If a guest is too high up in the complex (or too low), we always try to change apartment. The main thing is that the guests have a great holiday and we are happy to help the make it a succes. Sorry about the hot water: the boilers are of 50 liters, so when the hot water is used. it needs a while to heat the water!

I stayed at this hotel with my friends for 10 days and I would say its worth it. Its located in a quiet and relaxed area. There is obviously much better hotels in Ibiza town but for the money its worth it. The apartments are quiet big and clean too. Room service was good and was done twice a week with new towels and bed sheets. They offered entertainment shows every night which was very entertaining. I would also say that we were very looked after by the entertainers, especially tamara and sanne who were just brilliant. Them girls were very charming and good entertainers who made our time even more enjoyable. Its very good place for sleep, be it day or night never heard a thing, so very relaxing. I would definitely recommend this and would go there again on my next visit.......jk

Arranged a 1 week self catering trip 1st week in June. Arrived and had been allocated a room by the pool. Asked if we could be re-roomed as we thought the room might be noisy due proximity to pool. The staff gave us the choice of 2 more rooms and we were given a larger room near the tennis courts at no extra cost and it was a bigger apartment! The rooms are basic but clean but the whole place t be honest could do with a bit of an update re fittings etc. We didn't dine at the hotel so can't comment on the food. The staff were good and very helpful. The cleaners came most days and changed towels and bed linen. Our room had basic kitchen equipment (2 ring hob, microwave, kettle). Shower/bathroom was clean; hot water runs out after about 20 mins so ladies beware when washing hair!
The complex has many steep steps around the apartment blocks so could be an issue for older or less mobile visitors? We arrived in just the 2nd week of the hotels 2014 summer season. The place was quiet as a result. The daily organised games and activities at the apartments were every hour! You either want this..........or not! Similarly the poolside music was loud and crap euro pop which was on all day. We asked if it coulod be turned down and to be fair they did so but surely there should be a time in the day when it is turned off?!
The resort is fine and ok for a week - the complex and apartments are at the back of the town and uphill - so about a steady 15 mins walk. We knew this so it wasn't an issue to us but those who are older or with young kids might find the walk a bit of a chore day after day. We liked the resort as it was quiet and friendly. There is free wifi at the apartments but its crap and only available in about a 5 metre square area near reception. We'd go again to the resort but perhaps not to the same apartments. It is ok value for money though.

I had a weeks holiday in the Hi Montenar. The facility's were nice and due to it being off season the hotel was really quiet, which was nice. Towards the end of the week there were 2 new entertainers who have been fantastic both Tamara and Sanne. Despite being so quiet they are always speaking to us and offering any activities to fill any spare time. I would definitely recommend coming to these apartments.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel this past week and had the worst experience you could imagine. After arriving at the hotel a little after midnight, we checked in and were taken to our room. After leaving our belongings in the room we decided to go back to the reception to ask about the wifi to briefly alert our families of our arrival to the island(turns out the hotel only has wifi in a 3 meter radius to the reception which is separate from any of the actual apartments). Spent no more then 20 minutes messaging relatives and we headed back to the apartment. After unlocking the patio door and walking through the kitchen I noticed that my computer which I had left on the bed was gone. Seconds after my friend noticed her phone was gone and a few seconds after that she realized her purse with all of her ID's and credit cards AS WELL as her passport had all gone missing. In a panic we walked out the door, locked it and calmly walked to the reception (not wanting to draw any attention in case the possible robber or robbers were still on the premises). After notifying the clerk at the reception, the police were called. They told us to come to the station the next day with a hotel report and that they would do what they could to help. They did go to the apartment and find that who ever broke in used some sort of crowbar to pop the door open. Sleeping that night really wasn't possible- we were terrified and in complete shock.

LONG STORY SHORT, the hotel refuses to assist us in any sort of documents we ask of them and claim that this is our fault. The manager avoided us the entire trip and claimed that it wasn't his problem. He only spoke to us once, after we hunted for him for two days (it was clear he was deliberately avoiding speaking to us). First of all, what manager doesn't address a theft in his hotel? Doesn't alert the rest of the guests? That was something we found very strange. You would think if a theft that appeared to be so easy the rest of the guests should be notified in hopes that it doesn't happen again. In total we are going to end up spending over $4000 between the two of us to replace all that was taken, as well as the travel costs to Barcelona where my friend will have to apply for a new Canadian passport. The service at this hotel was BEYOND awful, it was something I could only expect out of a horror movie. I don't know if the management recently changed, as I see the other reviews have mostly been okay, but this was a HORRIBLE experience.

First of all I want to say that we are really very sorry for what happened to you being robbed! I understand it was an awfull experience but I think the reception staff did everything they could to assist you. Ofcourse whithin their possibilities like offering an other apartment directly after the robbery, letting you use the telephone and helping wherever it was possible.

Nobody in the complex is avoiding clients having problems! On the contrary: we are here to help them and I think the staff did their best.
Clients have to understand that the hotel is not reponsible for any items stolen from the apartment since every room is provided with a safe. Besides we did not have any robberies at all in the past, neither during your stay here.
We hope that the insurance will cover all the extra costs that you made because of the robbery.

My family of 6 stayed here in August self-catering: rooms are very basic and in need of updating, had no issues with cleanliness. Cala llonga is beautiful, very quiet though. Long walk back from the beach but only due to having 4 young children in 30 degree plus sun. Entertainment team were great. Would come back here just for the beach.

We stayed in the apartments June 2013. First of all if like to say what a incredible time we had on the holiday. For the price we paid we couldn't have asked for anything more. We arrive in the early hours of the morning, and had an exceptional welcoming from the receptionist and assumed manager who took our suitcases up to the apartment. Yes there was a couple of flights of stairs to climb but the view was beautiful and it's out of the way.
The food was fairly basic but so has most all inclusive hotels I have been to.
The pool area was clean and looked after and was plenty of room to sun bathe - there was even sunbeds on the roof.
The apartment was fairly basic but it was clean and the beds was comfortable which is all that really matters as no one spends there holiday sat in an apartment.
It was a 5 minute walk into town and to the beach which was gorgeous, small and pleasant,
Overall I would come back here again hopefully for a longer stay, only fault I could fine was the stairs to climb to the apartment but it's obvious when booking your going to have to walk to get there.
Fabulous time in cala llonga. Thank you x
