Invited for a Week end, this place is really a perfect one: big room, very well renovated, quite with a somptuous view on the "Parc Maulvrier". Huge height of rooms: more than 4 meters. Clean and confortable bathroom.
The restaurant was really excellent: nice room, fridendly staff and the menu was really perfect. Travelling very often across Europe, I definitly advise this place where I intend to come back.

Very nice, old castle. The standard top rooms (which were used for the maids) are cosy and interesting, with an old wooden staircase for the servants. The Rooms on the 1st floor are large Rooms, with floor to ceiling windows.

Very nice park adjacent to a Japanese garden.

I spent a good stay, the common rooms are full of charm, there are significant differences between the rooms of one floor and those upstairs.
The attached restaurant is excellent quality, both in proboste that in raw materials.
The breakfasts are pretty nice.
Parking is free.
I recommend it to everyone, you will not be disappointed.

We stayed at the chateau for three nights in September 2010. As many of the other reviewers have written, the 2nd floor rooms are budget but very clean and comfortable with beautiful views of the Japanese gardens. The prestige rooms seem lovely if you want to spend a bit more. We dined at the chateau for 2 of our 3 nights and our only regret is that we didn't go back for a third! The food was unbelievable and the service was impeccable. The location of the chateau is great -- perfect for exploring the Anjou region. We took some day trips to Blois (3.5 hours) and Saumur (45 minutes). Pluses: comfortable rooms at a good value (2nd floor), incredible food, beautiful setting, friendly staff, very clean, free internet. Minuses: none to speak of! We hope to return!

I agree with previous posters that the the inexpensive rooms didn't give you a castle feel. The hallway to the rooms felt like a Comfort Inn, but once in the room, I had no complaints. Full bathroom with everything we need, furnished nicely, comfortable bed, plenty of room for my husband and I. There was a loft area in our room that we didn't use. And there were sets of windows that overlooked the grounds, which was nice.
They had a breakfast which seemed even more of a rip-off than traditional hotel breakfasts. We sat down and left.
However, the most MEMORABLE AND AMAZING part of the chateau was our dinner in the restaurant. It was the best food that I have ever eaten. By far. The 'cheese girl' and the young man filling out water seemed new/inexperienced, but they had plenty of staff and they were all very nice. We splurged and got the full meals. They weren't cheap, but they were worth it. It was all amazing.

The Hotel was just wonderful. We stayed in the main building in one of the suites. I have never seen such huge rooms and high ceilings. The wardrobe was gigantic. But more importantly was the really welcoming atmosphere and the comfort of everything. The building is old and we think the odd squeaking floorboard and flaking paint here and there adds greatly to it's charm.
The bedding, the bathroom and towels are all first class quality. The food and service in the restaurant were outstanding. I do not understand why the hotel has not got 1 or 2 Michelin Stars, it certainly deserves one!!

Hotel is very beautiful and it was nice way to experience Loire castle comparing to queuing hours for the turist castles. We booked the most cheapest room, and it was on the second floor, wich was build in the hotel propably somewhere around eighties. The room was not any castle like. I also highly recommend for booking the better category.
Restaurant was also very charming and food was delicious. Breakfast was also very good.
