A little gem, don't judge a book by its cover! Friendly service, clean room, and suprisingly good cuisine very well presented. We had a super evening meal and wine in a restaurant that was popular with both locals (always a good sign) and guests. We wanted to leave our car and trailer in the car park until lunchtime, while we toured the area - no problem, very obliging.

A great overnight stop to /from Caen (about 40 mins away), and set in a beautiful area.

Room Tip: Pretty quiet town, no night time traffic (not much in the day either!)

Owner speaks good English, we were given a room in the attic, there was no lift with a spiral staircase with polished wood steps winding up in the centre of the hotel, very awkward to climb especially with our dog! Owner helped with luggage up the stairs. Unsuitable for anyone with mobility problems apart from the restaurant. Car park some way down the road not connected to hotel. Rooms modern and clean with safe, tea making facilities, very good bathroom/toilet but not much storage space for clothes etc if you're staying more than a couple of nights. Excellent restaurant, nice dining room , good menu and very well presented dishes. Cocktails before meal. Buffet breakfasts. We were lead to believe the only day of closure was a Monday, we went down the stairs to eat on the Sunday evening and found the reception locked and the whole place in darkness with no staff around. We just managed to get a basic meal in the local Brassiere which was just about to close. No where much to eat in the village unless you walk down the steep road to the river or take the car out to surrounding areas. We checked out on Monday morning, no sign of the owners, just a part time member of staff to settle our bill. Breakfast was not up to the usual standard either. Advice - don't book in on a Sunday or Monday! Wi-Fi non existent in bedroom and only available right near reception and dining area. Charge for dog 15 euro for 5 nights. Very attractive area especially for walking cycling and water sports, also good fly fishing. Attractive small well kept village with an excellent bakery and cake shop, a mini market and a shop selling regional products.

Again were turned bedraggled , been cycling all day in the rain! Despite this the proprietress, ( was charming & spoke very good English ) sorted us out & showed us to our comfortable over looking the rustic court yard.
Comprehensive menu with local delights to sample e.g Marinated tuna in sesame seeds, shredded oxtail + complementary amuse bouche.
After such a meal , you need to stroll round the Village its worth it !

We booked in the Hotel based on the positive reviews and we were delighted with our choice. The room - even though a bit on the small side - was nicely refurbished, all facilities were modern and functional (which is not always the case in France). The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. And: The dinner in the Restaurant was delicious - so a great place to stay and eat!!!

A really well positioned hotel in the centre of the village.Rooms were recently updated and the staff were attentive (although they had left by 20.00hrs) Restaurant was closed when we stayed, but it was a Tuesday in winter
Downside was a fairly meagre breakfast and difficult stairs going up the middle of the hotel.

Room Tip: Get there early for a car park space
