“2 Star Wannabee - avoid this hotel”
Reviewed 15 April 2009

Booked in for one night on an organised private 4* tour. No covering at all on the rooms' cold tiled floors. No bathmat, no shampoo, no hairdrier,1 small bar of soap, cold water. A single bed cover on the small double bed(it looked impoverished), only one bedside pedestal, headboard was tiled wall. No sattelite TV. On the way to the restaurant, the carpets were rolled back to save wear and tear, and were only rolled back into place upon our exit from the dining room. Dinner that night was disgusting - fixed menu, consisting of Soup or Potato salad with slivers of Mackerel; Mains consisted of Fried Pastry with cheese, or Paprica Steak with some vegetables, or Braised Beef with the same bed of vegetables, all with a spoonful of carrot puree and a spoonful of peas; the Sweets consisted of a choice of a small orange filled pastry biscuit of Fresh fruit (this being an unpeeled orange and an unpeeled apple dumped on a side plate in front of you), Hardly 4* standards, and more in line with a boarding house. The pool area was great as was the beautiful garden. Pity the reception failed to mention that they also had a heated pool as well as the normal one, this was discovered just too late to be able to make use of, as swimming time was closed after 1800hrs. Breakfast the following morning consisted mainly of orange juice, limited choice of rolls, jam, and bad coffee.

We stayed here for one night with our tour group. The hotel is nicely decorated in a style that may be Moroccan, but reminded me of the Southwest U.S.. with tiles and bright colors. We had a large room with a small double bed and an armchair. There was a nice private balcony with table and chairs. The room had room-darkening shades and a small TV, on which you could get only Arabic stations. There was no safe or hairdryer, and no good light for reading..

The bathroom was large but the shower curtain on the tub was very short, coming only to the rim of the tub, so I don't know how anyone could keep the floor dry when they showered. Towels were adequate, but no amenities were provided except for a miniscule bar of soap.

My major complaint is that the mattress should have been relegated to the garbage heap long ago. It was very soft and lumpy and at least one spring was coming through. If there had been a rug, I would have slept on the floor! If we hadn't arrived so late, I would have insisted on another room, or at least another mattress.

A nice surprise, large very nice garden with pool.
The rooms in the main building big and clean, nice furniture. Also here the taps were leaking as in almost all the hotels we stayed in Morocco.
The food was good not very special.
