We spent three nights here and it is a beautiful place. Our room in the tower was very nice and the breakfast was quite good. Very close to a town with great restaurants and shops. The manager was very helpful and it was a great value.

This is a grand country hotel, with a quiet ambience, conveniently located for touring and beach holidays in a lovely part of Brittany. The Manor, set in 100 acre grounds, dates from the 14th century, and the owners make you feel you are a guest in their private home - which in fact it is!
Don't expect a gymnasium, or a spa, air con. or even a TV in room - it's not that sort of place. In fact it is very, very quiet. However what it does have is a wonderful setting, a fantastic building, spacious rooms, beautiful peaceful gardens, and an attentive owner, Monsieur Hubert, who made our stay a joy. I would go there again without hesitation.

Room Tip: We had a room on the top floor in the main section of the house. There was not lift, so may be a problem if you have mobility problems. However I believe ther is a lift in the adjacent section with a linked corridor.

Impressive architecture and wonderful setting. Rooms are tired with worn carpets and some tatty fittings. The bed was comfortable (must have listened to earlier reviews) however pillows were old and rather smelly, and blankets likewise. No TV or radio.
At 185 Euros per night, I would expect much better.
Never the less it was all clean. Breakfast was minimalist with instant coffee served in a jug.

Sadly grounds are not maintained and there is no comfortable place to sit and relax.

Le Manoir is a magnificent property located approximately between Quimper and Concarneau, both about twenty minutes drive away. There are also a couple of small villages within five to ten minutes but in terms of restaurants, we found the best bet was to go to Concarneau, park near the station(and remember your parking stub for the car if it is early, we got a ticket until we got the hang of it) This is important because the Manoir serves only a petit dejeuner and it is very basic but also good...The Patron is available at the entrance at most times and was very helpful answering my questions; our room overlooked both the beautiful pond (with ducks and geese to enjoy)and the lovely formal gardens. He was also helpful ;with lugging our bags up to the second floor since it is a steep staircase. There was a nice sized bathroom with a big tub and a spray shower ini the tub. No a/c but i doubt it is required much....temps in July were in the 60's at the highest and there was a cool breeze in the evenings. This is a lovely spot if you are exploring the southwest corner of Brittany and want a base for a couple of days. Do not expect a spa experience. there is no pool, there are no lounge chairs (there are bistro style metal chairs in the garden hut not for relaxing) The car park is about 100 feet away from the entrance to the hotel and it is quite spacious. The rates are extremely reasonable as is breakfast. We found it a pleasure but it is not for people who want dinner at their hotel, or people who have any difficulty with stairs or walking about.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of both the pond and garden if available

Situated between the city of Quimper and the coastal fishing and boating town of Concarneau in the country town of Foret de Fouesnant, the Manoir du Stang is a country estate with a beautifully restored and maintained manor house fronted by a formal garden, and backed by two lakes and pastures. Everything about it bespeaks quality, taste, and attention to detail – the tree lined drive, restored buildings some dating back to the 15th c, carefully tended garden, flower beds, and shaped trees, pink and lavender hydrangea bordering a patio where breakfast is served, climbing roses covering the sides of the manoir; and inside, antique furniture, spacious and comfortable common rooms and bed rooms, quality linens, and Roger & Gallet soap,. The Manoir provides graciousness of traditional and informal of country living updated to the 21st c.
