Just returned from a short three night stay at the Chateau and I can honestly say we loved every bit of it! The service, the food, the staff and the rooms were excellent! The views of the gardens and river were so beautiful, plus we had excellent weather which always makes everything even better! Our room was large and our bathroom was in the turret of the castle which was so different and really neat! So, very old chateau, but all modern conveniences. I would highly recommend a stay here, we will remember this beautiful spot always!

Thank you very much for having taken time to share your experience with other guests. Obviously you have stayed in "La Tour" a very large Junior suite with great bathroom. Thank you for all the compliments for the staff, the room, the food. Hope to see you again. Kind regard. Stephanie Gombert.

We just finished a 2 night stay here. The setting and hotel are truly special. The rooms were lovely. The grounds are exquisite. The staff went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. If you are coming to the Dordogne area or Rocamadour, I would highly recommend you stay here.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Henri iv room and it was lovely. I think any of their rooms would be special

Spectacular setting on the banks of the river Dordogne. Well situated to travel the region. Our room was lovely and we had 3 lovely dinners, two of them outside on the terrace. First class service from all the staff who made us feel at home in this beautiful place. We will definitely return. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Chateau de la Treyne is a superb Relais-et-Chateau, perfectly situated to explore the Dordogne area by car-- just a 15-min drive to amazing Rocamadour. We stayed in the Louis XIII suite-- a large corner room with stunning views over the river (the photos on the R/C website do not do this room justice). It is well worth the price to get a room with a view here! There is a heated outdoor pool, and the grounds are lovely. The service was consistently impeccable over our four-day stay-- the staff went beyond expectations to make sure we had everything we needed. They helped us rent a canoe one day, and we enjoyed a terrific 2-hour excursion on our own along the river. Although we are not cyclists, our friends are, and they told us the biking in the area is ideal. The Michelin star restaurant on site is superb, and what do you know-- there is another Michelin star restaurant right down the road in LaCave (Le Pont de L'Ouysse) in case you feel like leaving the chateau one night. The chateau is an easy 1hr 45min drive from Toulouse Airport, and there is also a train station (not TGV) in Souillac, which is 5 minutes away. There are some great hiking trails on the property, but you will need a car if you want to explore anything off the grounds.

Room Tip: A view is worth the price.

We were in the region to celebrate my 50th birthday and our 25th anniversary. Staying at the Chateau de la Treyne was one of the highlights of the trip.

The Chateau and grounds are wonderful - take some time to explore it all. It's a great building with phenomenal views of the river. We stayed in the Louis XIII room. To mark our big events, they put rose petals on the bed and when we walked in the room, it was a sight we'll always remember. The view from that room is incredible - would never get tired of it. It's one of their suites and worth the higher rate.

The restaurant is wonderful as well. We stayed there 2 nights and while we originally thought we would only eat there one night, we ended up eating there both nights. The food, service, experience were all awesome!

Lastly, I'd like to highlight the service - the entire staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay. The owner Stephanie was exceptionally lovely and very helpful. We had some issues on getting location reservations and she was able to make them happen - you can tell how much she wants her guests to enjoy their stay.

Highly highly recommended!

Room Tip: Louis XIII room is phenomenal - one of the best views imaginable. Very comfortable.

We spent an unforgettable journey at le Chateau de la Treyne, the service and staff were excellent and the new year's package very convenient. Very interesting activities were also organised such as visiting a truffle farm, the astonishing village of Rocamadour and the city of Sarlat known for its foie gras shops... We highly recommend the Chateau at this time of the year!!!

Thank you very much for your nice comment. In wintertime Chateau de la Treyne is open from december 23 to january 3th. Christmas time is amazing and we are very happy to read that you enjoyed your stay. Of course it is different, because you can't go to the swimmingpool and it is not possible to do a canoe trip on the river. But it is the best season to learn about truffel, which we also call the Black Diament. Our area is very well known for truffel. We have truffels on our property and you can also visit truffel farms and truffel market. On our Facebookpage you can discover an interview about truffel and a very famous truffel market in Sarlat.
Thank you for your stay and perhaps we will have the pleasure and welcome you for another stay.
Stephanie Gombert.
