“Mitchelin Man, Frankie Doodle and Diva Dan!!!!”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

Our review is about the kids club team and the entertainment team. We have just returned back from an amazing holiday at the Aura. Everything was fantastic and spotless. A few days in we decided to investigate what the kids club is all about. Amazing set up - special kids club safe and secure area (all gated and sign kids in and out) all colourful and appealing for the kids, air conditioned huts for the club and drop in sessions. Specific sessions for each age group - my son went to tots (3-5) then there was team and tribe for older children. Each child was provided with a t-shirt and a water bottle with the Thomson dog logos on, a lovely reminder of their time there. My son was a little nervous of going, but he liked Frankie Doodle, one of the kids club reps. She spent some time with him and made him feel happier and was really interested in him, from then on, he really enjoyed doing the sessions with her and she always had time for him whenever he saw him in the hotel. Diva Dan, another of the reps had fun with my son in the club and played lots of games with him and again he couldn't stop talking about her. He went to two parties in the evening whilst we were there and Dan ran the parties and he didn't stop talking about them. She again went out of her way to talk to my son whilst we were away. The reps do not stop - they are running kids club sessions all day with lots of different activities to give varying opportunities for the kids for no or a small charge (only some sessions but clearly marked) and then in the evening taking part in the kennel club by the stage to help the kids with the activities. Then they are helping with Thomson the Dog during the day in the blistering heat. The kids club is available 6 days a week, fantastic and so safe and clean. There are so many other reps and they all work so hard to provide a service. Finally we would like to mention Mitchelin Man - Mitch. He is not afraid to get dressed up and have fun to make the kids laugh - he was dressed up as a fairy with a water squirter one day and the kids loved it, next day he was dressed up in an England outfit where he had made the shirt himself. The kids just wanted to see what he would do next. My son loved it when he helped out at kennel club and joined in the games, he would make everyone feel welcome and go that extra mile to ensure that people had fun. Even when the England football game was on (it was his evening off) kids were still coming up to him and he was talking to them and making them laugh. Non stop all the time.
The entertainment team were fantastic - Josh, Asha Boo and Annie - again absolutely non stop and great fun. Enabled you to enjoy but not in your face and you could decide if you wanted to join in or not. Josh especially does not stop when he's performing and good at providing entertainment on the spot.
The whole kids club team and entertainment team provide great fun and really made our holiday, thanks so much!!!!

There was a group of 15 of us 14 adults and an almost 2 year old for the wedding of the 2 of the group and most had sea view suites 2 couples had just the basic room but we all said how good the rooms were with a mini fridge included for free !! The beds were comfortable the lounge area was good for those of us that had a suite !! They were very clean as was the whole hotel and all outside areas including pool areas . The food was very good with a very good choice and variety, also there was a special childrens section with a low counter so the older ones could help their selves , the drinks were all good too with the all inclusive you got slushes and milkshakes for free too !! The staff were always friendly !! The water park was good for those that like that and was also free it said it was shut 1 day a week but was open for the whole 2 weeks we were there !!
The beach was about a 3 min walk from the hotel entrance , which has lovely sand and waters , the only bad thing about the beach was the " looky looky men " ( people trying to sell sun glasses etc ) not that that's the hotels fault !!! There were buses outside and a 2 mins walk into San Antonio where you could get buses anywhere else I believe .(we didn't do it though )
We all said we would go back and recommend this hotel to anyone !!

Room Tip: My daughter had room 4107 which had excellent view especially for a sunset !!

We have just spent 2 lovely weeks at the Club Aura and felt compelled to give our review due to a lot of negative reviews which almost put us off booking this holiday. We travelled as a family of 4 (2 adults and our 2 girls aged 4 & 2) all of us thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and wish we were still there! we found the hotel had everything we wanted, good sized clean rooms, which were cleaned every day including mopping the floor and removing all the sand we had traipsed in! The hotel was a good size, big enough to have all the facilities but small enough that you recognised most guests. The rooms are set out with the balcony off the main bedroom and 2 daybeds in the living area, we slept in the bedroom with the kids in the living area which worked well, after long days the kids were fast asleep if we needed to sneak by. (yes the shower screen is fixed across 2/3rds of the bath, so wash the kids in the end 3rd!) The pool areas are great, there is a beach style pool which the kids could run in and out of, a baby pool which you could sit around and watch them without being to concerned about them getting out of depth and 2 other pools which were deeper which allowed jumping in with arm bands on! On two occasions the pools were cleared due to 'accident's' then closed for a few hours, kids will be kids and I'm glad the hotel dealt with these incidents correctly rather than leaving the pools open! on both occasions we just walked the 50 yards to the water park. The waterpark again was excellent with small children's slides, a pirate play slides area for slightly bigger kids and a few big flumes for older kids and adults! One downside was that there were no slides that adults and young children could use together (Heath and Safety gone a bit too far as usual). One major part of previous comments is the food quality! we found the choice to be very good with 2 or 3 meat dishes, a couple of vegetarian options along with assorted veg, there was also a children's buffet with a few items along with a constant salad bar and assorted bread table and desert bar. breakfast had cereal's, full English, omelette, cold meats and bread to choose from. Snacks were available at the bar, the likes of pizza, chips, hot dogs, burgers. In general the food quality was adequate (burgers) to v good (whole fresh baked salmon) bearing in mind the cost of the holiday and their catering for 500 odd people, we thought they did a good job with the catering. ice cream pots were included in the AI but they also offered their own version of a Cornetto for only 50c which was good to have the option of. The location is ideal as there is a small beach with lovely clear water a 200yrd walk from the door of the hotel and a few shops within walking distance, but you are away from the main tourist area of san Antonio bay. Sunsets from the hotel bar are amazing, along with all the staff and finally the reps / Thomson team, all were fantastic and worked very hard to help you and the kids enjoy the holiday, they even put on a performance of snow white which was great entertainment for both the kids and adults! Overall we went on a great value family holiday where the kids loved every minute and we got to relax, unwind and enjoy the sunshine!

Room Tip: If traveling with young children try for a room near the water park, as the evening entertainment ar...

I have just returned from a 10 night holiday at the Club Aura.On arrival the reception staff were great however our room wasny ready so we had to wait around for about 20 mins before going to our room. The room when we eventfully got in was on first impression drab and dated. It was however spotlessly clean with comfy beds. The TV had no reception and to quote my kids "boring".the public areas were great as was the water park it also has a high presence of lifeguards which was reassuring. The food was OK, I have had better. The entertainment was mostly provided by the Thomson reps up until 9.30. This was aimed at the kids and my children loved it but for me it was like pulling teeth. The adult entertainment was a mixture of professional acts and the reps it defiantly requires improvement.I couldn't fault the kids club my children went everyday and loved it well done. Overall I had a good holiday but having been to 4 holiday villages before I would go to the hotel next door!

We've just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel as a family of two adults and two children aged 4 and 5.

The hotel itself is lovely, it's spotlessly clean and all the staff are really helpful and friendly. When waitresses just keep bringing drinks without you even having to order you know they've mastered customer service.

PWe were in the orange block and had a lovely views over the pool and sea and as an added bonus we could even sit on the balcony and watch the entertainment on the evenings the kids wanted to go to bed early. I was a bit worried it would be noisy being close to the bar but the entertainment had usually finished by about 11pm and by midnight all was quiet every night. The room itself was lovely and large bedroom with comfortable beds and two sofa beds in the living room bit. I did wonder what everyone was moaning about the shower screen for but after being there it is annoying. It's fixed to the side of the bath right up to where it starts to slope at the back so you do have to actually get in to the bath to turn the taps or shower on and off. Thankfully I didn't have little kids to bathe because I can imagine that would be a nightmare. I really didn't like stepping in and out of the shower with it being so near to the slope, I was petrified of slipping over. Apart from that very small gripe the room was perfect.

The food is okay but it does let the hotel down slightly. I stayed 3star in ibiza last year and the food was better. I wouldn't describe the food as bad and some days were better than others and there were occasions that I was reminded of school dinners. I never had anything undercooked and we all aways found something nice to eat. There is always plenty of choice and the freshly grilled meat and fish was particularly nice. You won't starve and because there's so much choice you'll always find something you want to eat but some meals aren't very inspiring.

I know it's been said before but the entertainment team really do make this hotel something special, especially for the kids. Josh, Ashley and Annie are fantastic all day and night and they all seem to have limitless energy. The kids club was great and I felt very secure leaving my kids there to play and they always came back super excited with stories of the fun they had been having.

All in all, it's a lovely clean hotel with brilliant staff, great pool and waterpark and am amazing entertainment team. The food is slightly disappointing but it wasn't inedible and it wouldn't stop me from returning again in the future.

We have just returned from a week in he club aura, as a young couple we travelled with 3 children aged 1/3 & 7. Transfer was literally 10-15mins, we were able to go straight to our room where we found a lovely laid out spacious room. Unfortunately it was up a few stairs but was no big deal, we just both carried the pram up every day. We found the hotel very clean and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Food was always nice and fresh, and found something for everyone. Kids loved the section for them as they could help theirselves. Water park and pool was always very clean, and very strict with lifeguards which was very reassuring with the 3 young children. Entertainment and kids clubs were excellent, even put the baby in the crèche a few times which cost €11 for two hours. There is a few shops opposite and a 15min stroll along to shops/bars and restaurants. A little beach (cove) 5 min walk, perfect for families. Or we found another beach which we got a boat to and it was gorgeous, great for families like us as the water is very clear and shallow. Also the weather was perfect 28-32 every day not a cloud in the sky. All in all one of the best holidays we've been on. And would definitely return.

I have just returned from an amazing week's stay at the Aura with my wife and 3 year old daughter. Having used trip advisor prior to booking I thought it only fair to add my experience.
From the friendly, welcoming arrival given by reception, the whole week continued to impress. We could not fault the room, clean and spacious, and as requested within a quiet area of the hotel.

Despite the bad reviews given over the food we (including our daughter) always found plenty of choice and enjoyed what we ate. Maybe it depends what your expectations are. The restaurant hosted a couple of themed nights which were good fun, especially the pirate night. It was an added bonus that the children were provided with ikea plates, bowls and cups. We had a very enjoyable night at the teppanyaki restaurant, well worth paying the supplement.

The pools were very child friendly, and we never had difficulty finding 3 sun loungers together. The water park is fantastic, fun for all ages, an absolute added extra. Our daughter loved the Thomson kids club and all the well thought out activities. The kids reps were friendly and professional, and our daughter really enjoyed seeing them in the restaurant and at the Kennel Club. She still talks about Frankie Doodle, Jammy Jess and Jaffa cake Jordan.

The biggest credit goes to the entertainment team, Jet Set Josh, Asha Boo and Annie McPhee. These guys work so hard, all day, in the heat, until late at night making sure the guests have a great holiday. This comes across as real enjoyment of the job, with no raised ego but genuine friendliness. We all loved the evening Kennel Club, despite being kids entertainment it gave amusement for the adults too. So huge thanks to you all.

We were sad to leave and would definitely go back.
